'I lived in an abandoned hospital - people are always horrified by one detail'

Daily Mirrora day ago
For three years, TikTok creator Aisha Barratt kept fans terrified and entertained with her footage of an abandoned hospital. But this was no urban exploration adventure - it was her home
Few people would dare spend the night in an abandoned hospital, but could you imagine actually living in one? For Aisha Barratt, this isn't a situation out of a horror film - it's home.

The TikToker lived in a disused hospital in London, as what is known as a 'property guardian', meaning a tenant who lives in an empty building, taking care of the premises for an enviably low rent. It's understood that some pay as little as £35 a week for this sort of set-up, and it makes sense for many as the ongoing cost of living crisis rumbles on.

Naturally, Aisha's unusual living situation has garnered plenty of interest online, where she regularly documented what it's like to wander the corridors of a building which made her feel as though she was "the last woman on Earth". It comes after a woman claimed 'My friend is naming her baby after a fish – she can't see how ugly it is'.

Aisha no longer lives in the abandoned hospital, which she has described as a "wild time". The London-based influencer, who has since moved to a 'cute girly apartment', lived in the unique property for three years, and fans couldn't get enough of her eerie content.
In a tour she filmed to mark the 'end of an era', Aisha showed her fascinated followers the radiographer cupboards she used to use as wardrobes, and revealed that she would also use an X-ray cupboard to store sweets. She said: "So much you can do with these non-conventional spaces. That's part of the fun of it."
Although she shared how she would miss the "little quirks" of her spooky home, TV producer Aisha admitted that she certainly wouldn't miss having to dust every five minutes.
In a previous video, Aisha poked fun at the idea that the old abandoned place may be haunted, joking: "POV: You live in an abandoned so you have to sage every corridor you go down."

Naturally, followers were curious about Aisha's living situation, but many didn't fancy it too much themselves. Commenting on one clip, where Aisha can be "modelling [her] first leather coat and biker boots fit of the season for the ghosts", one person shuddered: "Wow I would not be able to sleep ha ha brave girl."
In another clip, where Aisha showed how the building contained boarded-off sections and restricted zones, a second follower gasped: "How did you decide to live in an abandoned hospital? What if people break in to explore or smth? How are you so brave?" A third simply asked: "Why do you live there?"

Those of a more nervous disposition may be relieved to learn that Aisha was not alone during her long stay in the hospital. Although she had her own private room, which she was responsible for taking care of, she shared the building with some 150 people, under the property guardianship scheme.
Outlining this scheme to those who had no idea there was such a thing, Aisha explained: "There's a building: an office, a school, a church, a hospital. The owner wants to do something with it like demolish it, extend it, or turn it into something else but they need time for planning permission to go through. You don't want don't a tenant, you don't want a business in there, so you put some [property] guardians in there."
She continued, "Guardians know that when you get your notice, you have to go. In exchange for that, guardians get cheaper rent [and] great locations."

Brooks Nader laughs off X-rated wardrobe malfunction in plunging dress during ritzy yacht trip

Brooks Nader poked fun of a recent X-rated wardrobe malfunction she suffered during a ritzy yacht trip. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model took to her Instagram Stories over the weekend to share footage from the getaway, where she wore a plunging tight white dress. At one point her dress slipped down, exposing her chest. However, Brooks laughed it off putting two star emojis to cover her nipples, and shared the video anyway. The blonde bombshell — who also suffered a wild outfit malfunction in July — completed her sizzling look with a chunky gold Chanel choker and another matching chain. Her golden hair was shielded with a straw cowboy hat, and her eyes covered with sunglasses. Another image showed her with relaxing on the boat with pal Zach Zumbusch, whom she called her 'bestie for life.' Brooks Nader, 28, poked fun of a recent X-rated wardrobe malfunction she suffered during a ritzy yacht trip as she share footage from the getaway to her Instagram over the weekend The star also shared more dressed-up snaps from another night on the yacht. On Saturday, she posted photos of herself in a sizzling blue corset dress from Italian designer Ermanno Scervino. She accessorized the eye-catching look with a cowboy hat featuring a beaded fringe. Brooks added to her height with a pair of strappy blue heels. She was joined by her sisters Grace Ann Nader, Mary Holland Nader and Sarah Jane Nader. It comes after the star suffered yet another wardrobe malfunction while attending the 2025 ESPY Awards in July. Brooks sizzled on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in a plunging cream silk dress. However, the low-cut design unfortunately ended with her revealing a bit too much. The braless star suffered a mishap as her dress pulled to the side, resulting in a nip slip. The model was pictured fixing the issue as she adjusted the neckline with both her hands. Later she was seen holding her dress in place while walking onto the stage alongside Joey Logano. The incident comes after Brooks also encountered a wardrobe malfunction at Wimbledon, when her menstrual cycle began, causing bleeding that became visible on her white skirt. At that point Brooks turned around and the shot ran down the length of her outfit, so that the stains were in clear view on camera. Fans leapt into the comments to praise her for being 'real' and 'NORMALIZING it,' with one writing: 'A canon event for all us girlies.' And it appears the mishap paid off, as afterwards she reveled her collaboration with U by Kotex, a brand known for making menstrual products for women. Tammy Hembrow sets tongues wagging as she flaunts massive diamond ring on her left hand while wearing her new AFL beau Bailey Smith's jacket

Tammy Hembrow sure knows how to stay in the headlines. The fitness influencer, who is currently dating AFL heartthrob Bailey Smith, has once again sent her fans into a tailspin by showing off a giant diamond ring on her left hand while wearing the sports star's jacket. Tammy wore the rock on her middle finger as she headed out in her Bentley on Monday. She posted a picture of her hand holding a protein shaker containing her supplements while rugged up in Bailey's grey Adidas windbreaker. 'Baileys jacket,' one person wrote in the comments, pointing out that the influencer was wearing the zip-up that Bailey carried on their first date. The jacket has already featured in a TikTok posted by Tammy last week, which appeared to take aim at the intense interest the relationship has attracted since the pair went public. Tammy sat in her car and mimed the words to a popular trending audio clip from the Barbie film while wearing the jacket. 'Don't be f***ing boring. This whole town is so f***ing boring. I don't care,' Tammy mouthed, while shooting bratty looks at the camera. Bailey, 24, who plays for the Geelong Cats in Victoria, has flown to the Gold Coast two weekends in a row to spend time with the 31-year-old. The couple were first seen leaving hand-in-hand after a meal at swanky Asian fusion restaurant Rick Shores at Burleigh Heads before being caught making out at another restaurant. The pair were more recently spotted enjoying a romantic stroll to Nobby's Beach, where the footy player appeared to have his arm wrapped around Tammy's hips. Since Tammy's public appearances with the AFL star, her ex Matt Zukowski has admitted he felt 'hurt' watching his former wife move on so quickly after their break-up. The Love Island star also hinted he was the one to end things between them, despite some speculating it was Tammy who took the lead. The jacket already has featured in a TikTok posted by Tammy last week, which appeared to take aim at the intense interest the relationship has attracted since the pair went public with their blossoming courtship (pictured) Since Tammy's public appearances with the AFL star, her ex Matt has said he felt 'hurt' watching his former wife move on so quickly after their break-up 'A couple of months ago, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life. I decided to leave a relationship that I found was not right for me,' he told his Where's Your Head At? podcast co-host Anna McEvoy on Thursday. 'It was unhealthy for me.' Matt and Tammy got engaged in December 2023 after just three months of dating. They tied the knot almost a year later, in November 2024, but split rumours began to circulate earlier this year. In June, just seven months after tying the knot, the pair announced their divorce.
