Jefferson-Wooden scorches to 100m win at Grand Slam Track meet
The 24-year-old from South Carolina, a bronze medallist in the 100m at the Paris Olympics last year, scorched home ahead of Tamari Davis, who was second in 11.03sec.
Thelma Davies was third in 11.14sec while Olympic 200m gold medallist Gabby Thomas -- beaten by Jefferson-Wooden in Saturday's 200m -- was fourth.
Jefferson-Wooden's time vaults her into elite company as one of the 10 fastest women over 100m in history.
"It means everything, I've been working so hard for this," a delighted Jefferson-Wooden said afterwards.
"I've been learning so many new things about myself the way I go about training, the way I go about being disciplined, even when I'm not feeling my best.
"It's just all coming together."
Jefferson-Wooden's time was only fractionally outside Julien Alfred's winning time in the 100m at the Olympics last year, and suggests the American will be one of the favourites for gold at this year's World Championships in Tokyo, provided she qualifies at next month's US trials in Eugene.
In other races on Sunday, Britain's Josh Kerr avenged his Olympic 1,500m defeat to Cole Hocker in a thrilling battle.
Hocker famously surged past Kerr to claim a shock victory in Paris last August at the Stade de France and take gold.
But on Sunday it was Kerr's turn to produce a decisive finish, storming past Hocker in the final few metres to win in 3min 34.44sec.

"I know you wanted to watch more tennis," an apologetic Alcaraz told the crowd on centre court. "I have to say sorry for that. But I had to do my work." Musetti beats Tiafoe to reach French Open semi-finals
Eighth-seed Musetti won 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 against the 15th seed after over two hours and 45 minutes of battle on Court Philippe Chatrier. He next plays either defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain or American Tommy Paul for a place in the final. Musetti's serve proved to be a major weapon on the day as he fired down eight aces with an 81 percent success rate on his first serve in gusty conditions in Paris. He also saved two of the three break points engineered by Tiafoe, who had 51 unforced errors to the Italian's 32. French Open: Swiatek and Sabalenka qualify for semi-final face-off
Four-time champion Iga Swiatek's 26 th successive win at Roland-Garros on Tuesday, June 3, set up a semi-final clash against top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka in what will be their first French Open meeting. Swiatek defeated Elina Svitolina 6-1, 7-5 to extend her impressive run. The consecutive wins record on the Parisian red clay is Chris Evert's 29. Sabalenka ousted Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen in straight sets to reach the Paris semi-finals for the second time. Having been searching for her best form in recent months, Swiatek, who struggled in the previous round, was in total control in the opening set. She was made to work harder by her 13 th -seeded Ukrainian rival in the second set, dropping her serve in the fourth game after hitting two straight unforced errors into the net. But Swiatek broke back immediately and took advantage of Svitolina's poor service game to break again with a thunderous forehand return and move up 6-5. Swiatek sealed the win with a final ace. Swiatek has won five of the six matches she's played on clay against Sabalenka, including a thrilling three-setter in Spain last year. "The Madrid final against her is one of the best and most exciting finals that I have played," said Swiatek, who has not won a title or reached a final since her victory at Roland-Garros last year. "It is always a challenge against Aryna. She really has a game for every surface." Sabalenka is trying to reach her sixth Grand Slam final, and first at Roland-Garros. But Sabalenka demonstrated why she was No. 1, making the difference on big points, while Zheng struggled with her serve in tense moments.
