Wondrwherecraigis? Meet Brittany Russell's New ‘Trainer Taxi'
There's a new celebrity on the backside at Colonial Downs in New Kent, Va., and he goes by Craig. His legal name is Wondrwherecraigis, and his latest role is acting as a 'trainer taxi' for trainer Brittany Russell.'He's only been working about a month and a half,' said Russell, who trained Wondrwherecraigis during his racing career. 'Everybody loves seeing him out there. He's like a celebrity, and the joke is that he could still outrun all of the barn.'The 8-year-old Munnings gelding retired from racing in October 2023, with a fourth-place finish in an allowance at Laurel Park.
Wondrwherecraigis' 20 career races from March 2020 until his retirement took Russell into the limelight for the first time. He provided her with her first career graded stakes win in the 2021 Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap, and took her across the world to run in the 2022 Dubai Golden Shaheen at Meydan Racecourse. He retired in 2023 after Russell and his ownership group, comprising Michael Dubb, The Elkstone Group LLC, Madaket Stables LLC, and Michael Caruso, felt he had lost a step.'He wasn't quite that stakes caliber horse anymore. We decided to retire him healthy and sound,' explained Russell.
Post-retirement, Wondrwherecraigis was retained by Russell and began training for a show jumping career. Despite finishing 17th of 49 competitors in show jumping at The Thoroughbred Makeover last year, Russell felt Wondrwherecraigis wasn't at his happiest.'It went fine, but we just didn't feel like that was his thing,' she said. 'He did it, but we didn't think he loved it.'Russell pulled him out of show jumping training and returned him to the racetrack.'He's been awesome, I just feel like he wants to be in the racehorse barn,' said Russell.'He's more like a trainer taxi than a pony. He doesn't do a whole lot of ponying, but he is my taxi.'
Russell is married to jockey Sheldon Russell, and together they have two children: their daughter, Edy, and their son, Rye.'[Wondrwherecraigis] was the first horse that my daughter really clicked on to in the racing barn,' said Russell. 'It's hard for the kids to understand sometimes. They come in the barn and get to know a horse, and then maybe they get claimed, or they get retired.'The hope is that one day Wondrwherecraigis can be a mount for Edy, who is now five years old.'We're hoping Craig is with us for many years,' said Russell. 'I believe she'll be riding him one day.'

Nikola Jokic Cries Tears Of Joy After His Horse Wins A Major Race In Serbia
Nikola Jokic Cries Tears Of Joy After His Horse Wins A Major Race In Serbia originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Nikola Jokic has been dominating the NBA for at least the last five years, during which he won the MVP Award in three of them. Yet, Jokic has always claimed that basketball is not everything to him in his life. One rarely anticipates seeing offseason workout videos of Jokic, as he is mostly busy living his best life off the court during this time. And more often than not, Jokic is spotted on the sidelines of the horse racing tracks in Serbia. Recently, Nikola Jokic went viral on social media after his offseason video was posted online. Nikola Jokic can be seen going emotional after his horse wins a race in Serbia. Crying like a proud father, Jokic was spotted hugging his horse and the trainer, Vladimir Pribic. Subsequently, he is seen popping a champagne bottle and running around, celebrating a lot like the day he won the NBA championship in 2023. Some NBA fans also argued that he is celebrating a lot more than he did when the Nuggets won the 2023 title. They took to social media and pointed out the stark difference in his celebrations. "Nikola Jokic seems happier about his horse winning a race than when he won the NBA championship." "Basketball is really a side gig for him. He's just elite at it. He's using it to fund his real passion for horse racing." "Dude can't wait to retire from his side gig that pays the bills and focus on his true love, he's gonna retire the second his prime is done," said a fan hilariously in the context of the recent social media video where Jokic unintentionally blurted his retirement plans during a question about Yang Hansen. "He was not this emotional when he won the title!" "Winning an NBA championship was just his job; horses are life." "The best basketball player in the world would trade 4 NBA titles for a horse race win at some random goat track in Serbia." Nobody is claiming Jokic was not happy when he won the championship; he was ecstatic. He jumped in the swimming pool with his team, flooded the locker room floors with champagne, and whatnot. But he did not seem as emotionally fulfilled as he does when his horse wins a race. Nikola Jokic's Agent Spotted With LeBron James, Rich Paul While the former NBA Finals MVP went viral after this horse race in Serbia, just a few hours before that, his agent was spotted on a boat with LeBron James and his agent, Rich Paul, in Saint Tropez, France. Misko Raznatovic, the Serbian agent, posted a picture with LeBron James and his crew, and the caption hinted that something's brewing on their end. "The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026!" he wrote in the caption. Since LeBron James is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the NBA next summer, it is predicted that by the end of fall 2026, James will have decided if he's playing elsewhere in the NBA for another season or if he is retiring. This photo hints that James could become a Denver Nuggets player next fall. Will we get to see Nikola Jokic and LeBron James as teammates before he retires? Let us know what you think about this potential duo in the comments story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 28, 2025, where it first appeared.

DeMarcus Cousins: Nikola Jokic Considered Retirement Instead Of Signing $300 Million Supermax Deal
DeMarcus Cousins: Nikola Jokic Considered Retirement Instead Of Signing $300 Million Supermax Deal originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Nikola Jokic's enthusiasm for horse racing is a well-known fact in the NBA community, and in some ways, even outweighs his love for basketball. Still, the idea that Jokic nearly retired before signing his contract extension comes as a surprise. Former Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins recently shared the story of how Jokic was contemplating retirement instead of signing a supermax deal on the "Straight Game Podcast". He recalled: "When I was with Denver, our lockers were next to each other. I don't remember who at the time had signed an extension, but I'm like, "Yours is going to be crazy!" He was like, 'You know, Cuz, I honestly think I might retire before this contract.'" Cousins was stunned by Jokic's willingness to walk away from a $300 million payday. "I said, 'Man, you out your motherf***ing mind,'" he continued. "I said, 'Sign the contract and just get fat at worst.' Don't pass up on the $300 million. You can't do that." He recalled Jokic saying he just wanted to relax in the Serbian countryside with his horses. Cousins tried to convince him by joking that he could buy more horses with the money. Jokic's disinterest in playing basketball was also noted when the four-time All-Star emphasized that Jokic did not care much about playing in the NBA. He claimed: "If you ever get a chance to just hold a conversation with him, and he tells you a little bit about himself, he really doesn't give a f**k about this s**t. He doesn't care. At all. This is like his second or third favorite thing to do. Maybe third or fourth. Most games, when he's dropping these crazy stats, he probably doesn't want to be there. And that's the scary part about all of it." If Cousins' statement is to be believed, something plenty of evidence supports, Jokic may be the most naturally gifted player the NBA has ever seen. Even disengaged, the Nuggets superstar remains one of the best players in the league. As a perennial MVP candidate, the Serbian big man consistently delivers unreal numbers to help his team secure victories. In the 2024-25 season, Jokic put up an average of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.8 assists, while shooting 57.6% from the field and 41.7% from three-point range. Absurd numbers for someone who treats basketball like a hobby. Jokic's love for his horses and being home in Serbia is endearing to fans, but it raises several concerns for the Nuggets organization. Having declined their recent extension offer, possibly for a significantly more lucrative deal next season, the big man could very genuinely leave the team at some point. While ownership is already uneasy about Jokic's future in Denver, the bigger question is whether he'll stay in the NBA at all. To keep him invested, the Nuggets have been active in building a stronger roster this offseason, effectively seeing them emerge as contenders. The prospects for the upcoming season may be positive, but the superstar will currently focus on representing his home country at the upcoming EuroBasket story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 31, 2025, where it first appeared.

Liberal comic details why he's retiring popular podcast, says format has acquired ‘cultural malignancy'
Stand-up comedian and podcast host Marc Maron told CNN on Thursday why he's retiring his popular podcast. Maron, an outspoken liberal and host of the "WTF with Marc Maron" podcast, told CNN anchors John Berman and Kate Bolduan that he's just over the medium and noted that the podcast space has become oversaturated and has a negative edge to it. "I don't want to chase the cultural conversation through clickbait and garbage. You know, I don't want to be tethered," Maron said. "And now you're getting out just when everyone's 100% convinced that podcasts are deciding American elections and the future of mankind. Right? So why get out just when everyone catches up to you?" Berman asked. Maron, who announced he was retiring his podcast in June after 16 years, told the anchor that he never intended for the show to be about politics, and felt that it had run its course. "And we really chose not to do politics and just do kind of profiles and sort of candid conversation," he said, describing how he originally set up the show. "And we were audio, and we remained audio because we believe that's the most intimate, you know, form." He continued, noting that he's satisfied with how much content the show has produced and that he wants to get out with so many other podcasters competing on the scene. "And also, if we stop and at this point, you know, we have a body of work that stands on its own. And in terms of, yeah, podcasts being the new medium, that means there's 10,000 podcasts. Everyone's doing one, and it's just, the environment is a little cluttered and oversaturated." "We did what we set out to do. It was never really about money. It was about creating a unique and interesting show. And there's no reason to keep plugging along just because you can," Maron added. Bolduan followed up by asking what he thinks about podcasting today. Maron replied by saying it has allowed many podcasters to set up their own "little showbusiness empires" and has given people freedom to use them for "evil." "So, I mean, like any medium, it can be used for bad or evil," he said. "So, I mean, you know, what are you going to do? But it is the way the media landscape is working." Maron added, "Look, there's a sort of cultural malignancy to it in some ways and – but in some areas people are doing really interesting stuff." Though Maron didn't specify what this "cultural malignancy" is, in the past he has called out podcasters who have supported right-wing causes and President Donald Trump. Three days after podcast host Joe Rogan had Trump on his show just ahead of the 2024 election, Maron shared a blog post in which he wrote, "Popular podcasts became tribal and divisive years ago. Now they may be in the position to become part of the media oligarchy under the new anti-democratic government." Representatives for Marc Maron did not immediately reply to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
