‘Whole Of Pakistan Within Our Range…They Must Find Deep Hole': Top Indian Army Officer
The senior Indian Army officer said that even if Pakistan considers relocating its Army headquarters to areas like KPK, they will have to "find a deep hole."
A senior Indian Army officer on Monday underscored the nation's military readiness and arsenal strength, saying that India is capable of striking targets across the full depth of Pakistan.
Lieutenant General Ivan D'Cunha, Director General of Army Air Defence, also reacted to reports of Pakistan considering relocating its General Army Headquarters (GHQ) from Rawalpindi to Islamabad following the success of 'Operation Sindoor', saying that even if they move to areas like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), they will have to 'find a deep hole."
'I just like to say that India has an adequate arsenal of weapons to take on Pakistan right across its depth. So, from its broadest to its narrowest, wherever it is, the whole of Pakistan is within range. We are absolutely capable, from our borders or even in-depth, where we can take on the entire Pakistan," Lt Gen D'Cunha told news agency ANI.
'And the GHQ can move from Rawalpindi to KPK or wherever they want to move, but they are all within range, so they will have to really find a deep hole," he added.
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, India launched precision strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' and struck nine terror dens in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
After the Pakistan Army's response, India targeted key Pakistani airbases, including the Nur Khan Air Base, with precision, utilising loitering munitions to destroy targets.
Lt Gen Sumer Ivan D'Cunha further revealed that Pakistan deployed approximately 800–1000 drones along the western border over four days, but the Indian defence forces—through coordinated efforts by the Army, Navy, and Air Force—effectively neutralised the threat.
'I would say anything between 800 to 1000 across the whole western border in four days. A large number of them were destroyed. One thing for sure is that all the Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles [UCAV] which carried a payload, although they intended to harm our civilian population and they were directed towards population centres, we ensured that they did not cause any damage, and I think the proof of the pudding is actually in what we actually saw, that there were no civilian casualties" Lt Gen D'Cunha said.
D'Cunha noted that the Indian defence forces had anticipated Pakistan's drone tactics, using swarms of low-cost drones at low altitudes to bypass radar systems, and, in preparation, conducted simulation exercises from April 26 to 28, which enabled them to effectively counter the attacks.

3.123-acre amenity space to be developed into public garden in Mohammadwadi-Undri
A 3.123-acre (approximately 12,635.86 square metre) land parcel is set to be developed into a state-of-the-art public garden in the wake of demands from the residents of Mohammed Wadi and Undri. The land where the garden will be developed. (HT PHOTO) Recently, residents led by the Mohammadwadi-Undri Residents' Welfare Development Foundation (MURWDF) met Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) commissioner Naval Kishore Ram to draw his attention to the lack of a public park in the area. Responding to the residents' appeal, commissioner Ram assured them that the garden project would move forward. Once completed, the it would provide much-needed green space and recreational facilities for the growing population of these neighbourhoods. Commissioner Ram said, 'We are positively considering the proposal, and the residents have submitted their demands to the concerned department.' Not very long ago, the residents of Mohammadwadi and Undri visited the aforementioned plot of land only to find that it was being misused as a dumping ground for cement-concrete waste by private developers. With no security or surveillance in place, locals expressed concern over the PMC's failure at protecting the land. 'Indiscriminate dumping of cement waste, loose gravel, and stones is taking place in clear violation of the Environmental Protection Act. The PMC's approach has been alarmingly casual,' said Sunil Aiyer, a member of the MURWF. Following the visit, the residents demanded that the said plot, located in survey numbers 4 (part) and 21 (part), be secured using CCTV cameras and guarded properly. 'Since the MURWDF has a long-term vision for the next 50 years, a public park has been proposed and commissioner Ram has responded positively to our request,' Aiyer said. The MURWDF then called for immediate cleanup and development of the site into a community park named 'Sindoor Smriti Vatika' as a tribute to the armed forces. The MURWDF – representing over 20 housing societies in Mohammed Wadi and Undri – even submitted a formal petition to the PMC, highlighting the lack of a public park in the area and urging that the same be developed. The petition specifically requested the PMC to consider developing a park on the said amenity plot currently owned by the PMC. The MURWDF emphasised that this land be preserved for community use in keeping with the purpose for which it was reserved. The foundation stressed that a well-planned public garden would serve thousands of citizens, improve the liveability quotient of the area, and align with the PMC's green development goals. Sunil Koloti, director, MURWDF, said, 'We proposed that this amenity space be developed as 'Sindoor Smriti Vatika' as a tribute to 'Operation Sindoor' and the selfless service of our armed forces. It will serve both as a memorial and a much-needed green space for public wellbeing.'

India won't bow down to anybody, says Piyush Goyal
NEW DELHI: Asserting that "India will not bow down to anybody", commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday that countries will restructure their trade routes and partners. "The world keeps evolving, international trade keeps finding new pathways. What we are seeing today is possibly a churn that is bound to happen every few years - new countries come up, some go down. This is India's time," he said at a Business Today event. The minister said India's exports during the current fiscal year will be higher than last year. In 2024-25, India's exports reached a record $825 billion, with goods shipments valued at over $437 billion, around the same level as the previous year. Asked about the impact of Trump tariffs, he retorted by saying that India finds opportunities in crisis. "The nation's morale is high... There is a lot of strength in the Indian economy... India will emerge as the winner," he said. Trump's tariffs have induced uncertainty, especially with Indian exports to the US going to attract 50% duty from Aug 27. The minister was, however, confident of the Indian economy doing well and hit out at the American president's comments of India being a "dead economy. "Samajhne wale samajh gaye, jo na samjhe who anari hain (those who are wise have understood, but the naive haven't). It's so sad, the whole world is looking up to India, whole world recognises us as the fastest growing large economy... Today, the world recognises the strength of India, recognises our demographic advantage, recognises what 1.4 billion aspirational Indians bring to the table as demand. India is a huge market: Why do you think India is queuing up to trade or have better market access?" he said.
