There's a film called 'Iratta'," he began his speech.Describing the time he played multiple roles in 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan', he said, "I must have done nearly thirty double roles in my career. In 'Michael Madana Kama Rajan', I didn't show much of a difference between my four characters in terms of makeup. But Joju, right from the early days, managed double roles with subtlety. In the film, he is in the same police station playing different brothers. But, you could immediately differentiate both characters."
He said, "Joju, you're one of the actors I envy." Joju stood up, folded his hands and started tearing up.advertisementHere's the video:Ivara paathu kathukodaa @rajinikanth pic.twitter.com/uejWvXtwid— M.Ex (@Jana_Naayagan) May 25, 2025Sharing the clip on his Instagram, he talked about how his co-workers in the Malayalam film industry misunderstood him. I dreamt of getting big awards, but for me, your wonderful words and appreciation of my acting really made me feel like I've won my Oscar. You are such a big superstar and our universal role model. I'm a huge fan and a good disciple of yours; we always look forward to all your minute moments in acting. So, getting such appreciation from you is my real Oscar (sic)," he explained.
In his note, he claimed that he always looked for validation from his Malayalam industry. "However, from my own field, very few appreciated my roles and word - I mean, from my coworkers. I struggled to share my movie posters with celebrities; mostly, I was always misunderstood without understanding what I was really doing. Many media people, co-workers hurt me badly," he explained.advertisementIt was Kamal Haasan's appreciation that made his day. He said that his film 'Joseph' made him happy and anything that happened after that was just a bonus in his life. "As a human, I'm so satisfied and fulfilled through his words. Housefull 5 Box Office Collection day 1: Decent start for Akshay Kumar's film, crosses ₹13 crore on opening day

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection day 1: The much-awaited film, Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar and his gang released in cinema on Friday. Off to a decent start, the murder mystery has crossed ₹ 13 crore at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Housefull 5 has so far minted ₹ 13.81 crore. However, these are the real-time updates from morning and afternoon. The final figures will be out after 10 pm. If the film maintains similar momentum during the evening and night shows, its total earnings could potentially double by the end of the day. Housefull 5 had an overall 20.93% Occupancy on Friday in 2D format. The 3D format saw an occupancy of 10.76% on June 06, 2025. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Ahmedabad had the highest occupancy with the highest number of screenings for the film in all formats. Following closely is Pune, Bengaluru and Surat on the list. Overall, the film has done better business than expected. Going by its advance sales booking, the film was set to premiere with ₹ ₹ 6.87 crore gross earnings (including the blocked seats). Housefull 5 is clashing with the Hindi version of Kamal Haasan's Thug Life which was released a day ahead of Housefull 6. Thug Life, however, has received an underwhelming response. On the other hand, both the films are also clashing with Maddock Films' Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ''HOUSEFULL 5' IS AKSHAY KUMAR'S WIDEST OVERSEAS RELEASE... The much-awaited #Housefull5 has released in… 85+ countries 1300+ locations 2000+ screens.' He also reviewed the film and called it 'Dhamaal'. "#OneWordReview… #Housefull5: DHAMAAL. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ The #Housefull franchise returns with a bang – this time, it's bigger, louder, and crazier... A paisa-vasool entertainer with madness, a thrilling climax, and mass-moments galore. #Housefull5Review. First things first: In a film like #Housefull5, logic takes a backseat... The key is to surrender yourself to the craziness and enjoy the rollercoaster ride. 'Director #TarunMansukhani infuses fresh energy into the franchise, while retaining the essence that fans have loved over the years... #HF5 continues the series' tradition of over-the-top humour, madcap storytelling, and visual extravaganza. The writing is peppered with witty one-liners, quirky twists, and cleverly staged gags... In short, #HF5 strikes the right balance between madness and masala,' his post read. Taran also mentioned what did not work in the film for him. He added, 'Minus points? A few jokes feel dated and forced. Some supporting characters are underutilized. The post-interval screenplay could've been tighter.'

Kamal Haasan Files Nomination For Rajya Sabha Seat From Tamil Nadu

Last Updated: Haasan signed and presented the papers to officials at the State Secretariat in Chennai in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin. Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) President and famed actor Kamal Haasan on Friday filed nomination papers to contest for the biennial polls to Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu which are scheduled for June 19. Haasan signed and presented the papers to officials at the State Secretariat in Chennai in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and senior leaders from his party. — Udhay (@Udhaystalin) June 6, 2025 This marks his formal entry into the upcoming upper house contest. Elections for six Rajya Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu are set to be held on June 19. Haasan was initially expected to file his papers earlier but deferred it, reportedly due to the backlash he faced for a controversial comment on the origins of Kannada. Kamal Haasan Controversy The actor landed in a big controversy recently. The South superstar attended the Thug Life audio launch event in Chennai, where he made a statement linking the origins of the Kannada language to Tamil. 'Actor Shivarajkumar is my family living in another state. That's why he is here. That's why when I started my speech, I said 'my life and my family is Tamil'. Your language (Kannada) was born out of Tamil. So you are included in that line," he said. The actor's remarks quickly went viral and triggered backlash from pro-Kannada groups in Karnataka. They not only demanded an apology from Haasan but also a ban on his upcoming movie. However, the actor refused to apologise, saying, 'If I am wrong, I will apologise. If I am not, then I won't." This led to the situation getting escalated as the Karnataka Film Chamber warned that his new film, 'Thug Life', will not see a release in the state unless he apologises for his remark. This prompted Haasan to move the High Court, seeking protection to release the film without disturbance. Taking a stern view, the Karnataka High Court, earlier this week rapped the actor and asked him the basis of his claims, saying that his 'one apology would have solved everything".
