
Mansions OAM and The Brain & Performance Centre unite for mental health awareness month
Mansions Owners Association Management has announced a collaboration with The Brain & Performance Centre, A DP World Company to mark Mental Health Awareness Month this May, launching a month-long series of wellness initiatives across its residential communities under the unifying theme:
Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being, yet many individuals still find it difficult to speak about their emotional challenges. Through this partnership, Mansions OAM and The Brain & Performance Centre aim to create a safe and supportive space for dialogue, awareness, and practical tools that help residents care for their mental wellness.
Throughout the month of May, the programme will focus on four weekly themes, each designed to support different dimensions of emotional, cognitive, and psychological well-being:
● Week 1: Let's Talk About It – Awareness and Conversation Starters
● Week 2: Take a Breath – Stress Relief and Mindfulness
● Week 3: Support Systems – Getting Help and Building Connections
● Week 4: Everyday Acts of Wellness – Daily Routines and Self-Care
Community events, expert-led content, and digital engagement will provide residents with accessible ways to participate, reflect, and connect.
'This initiative is about more than raising awareness — it's about sparking everyday conversations that can lead to lasting change,' said Alexander Karabet, Managing Director of Mansions Owners Association Management.

Dr. Layla Al Hyas: We invite all entities to submit initiatives that create tangible impact in the lives of People of Determination. Submissions for the award open on July 1st and will run through the end of August 2025. Abu Dhabi – The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi organized a series of interactive orientation workshops introducing the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion – Damj. The sessions welcomed representatives from government, private, and third sector organizations across the emirate. These workshops aim to empower participating organizations to develop inclusive strategies and initiatives in line with global best practices. This aligns with Abu Dhabi's vision of building an inclusive society that provides equal opportunities for all. The sessions also introduced participants to the award's pillars, categories, and objectives, along with its assessment tool, participation criteria, and nomination process – all designed to foster a shared understanding and strengthen institutional inclusion efforts across workplaces, community services and accessibility. The workshops featured engaging sessions that outlined the award's role in recognizing and motivating entities to adopt inclusive services and equitable employment practices. The ultimate goal is to ensure the sustainability of inclusive practices that empower People of Determination in every aspect of life. The award is expected to engage over 600 entities across various sectors to provide inclusive, accessible environments – both physical and digital. It also seeks to enhance economic participation for People of Determination through more than 80 entities, offering over 500 inclusive services across six key sectors, representing a true commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and equality. One of the workshops highlights included inspiring personal testimonies from members of the People of Determination community. They shared their life experiences and the ongoing challenges they face in areas such as infrastructure, transport, accessibility, and education. They also emphasized the significant impact of multi-sector efforts from government, private, and third-sector partners in improving the quality of life for People of Determination and their families. The workshops also included a comprehensive presentation of the award's structure, which is built around 3 main pillars and 10 categories. The first is the Inclusive Services pillar, which features 6 categories covering the industries of health, education, tourism and entertainment, transportation and mobility, and third sector services. The second is the Inclusive Employment pillar, which includes two categories recognizing the best inclusive work environment for employing People of Determination. The third pillar focuses on Accessibility, with two categories honoring entities that excel in providing both physical and digital accessibility. The sessions further highlighted the specific criteria and requirements for each pillar and service, in addition to outlining the stages of assessment and the nomination submission process, supported by vivid examples for each service. The sessions also provided insights into evaluation criteria, nomination requirements, and examples illustrating the kinds of initiatives eligible for each category. Additionally, third-sector organizations presented models of their inclusive services, demonstrating their pivotal role in supporting People of Determination across different aspects of life. These presentations served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among attendees. Her Excellency Dr. Layla Al Hyas, Executive Director of the Community Development Sector at the Department of Community Development, affirmed that the Damj Award is a vital enabler for sustaining inclusive environments and practices. She described the award as a strategic driver that encourages entities to adopt forward-thinking policies promoting equal opportunity and empowering People of Determination as active partners in development. Dr. Al Hyas urged all public, private, and third-sector entities to leverage this opportunity to submit impactful, innovative initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of People of Determination. She emphasized that excellence in inclusion is not only about meeting standards but about creating sustainable, innovative, and measurable change. She added: "We are confident in Abu Dhabi's entities and their ability to lead inclusive transformation. Every initiative submitted today marks a step toward a more inclusive society." To conclude the workshop, the award team hosted a Q&A session, responding to participants' inquiries about the nomination process and requirements. Jordan ranks 2nd among 7 Arab countries on global entrepreneurship monitor
AMMAN — Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on Thursday released the Jordan National Report on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2024-2025. The report, launched in cooperation with the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Jordan Strategy Forum, showed "remarkable" progress for the Kingdom in a number of entrepreneurship indicators. Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat said that the results reflect the government's commitment to supporting the environment of entrepreneurship, stressing that "accuracy" in data is the "basis" for effective policies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. GJU President Alaadeen Halhouli said that survey researches contribute to understanding the real status of entrepreneurship and better directing programmes. The report is part of project "Entrepreneurship for sustainable economic development and employment in Jordan", implemented by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the EU. Among seven Arab countries participating in the report, Jordan came second on the total early-stage entrepreneurial activity, with a large drop in the gender gap from 9.2 per cent down to 3 per cent. Jordan also ranked second on the Existing Business Ownership Index, indicating the sustainability of entrepreneurial projects. The report recorded improvements in the enabling environment for entrepreneurship, particularly in indicators of market dynamics, government policies and support programs, and regulation of market entry. Jordan: ASEZA approves new agreements to boost research, investment, culture, sports in Aqaba
AMMAN — The Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Thursday decided to approve an "initial" agreement with the Spanish PharmaMar Company for the Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABD) of scientific research. This decision comes within the authority's vision related to the pillar of sustainable growth, investment encouragement and the development of scientific research, for the purposes of exploration, collection and examination of marine organisms from Jordanian territorial waters. The aim of the decision is to launch biological research and drug discovery, provided that the procedures for obtaining the necessary approvals under the protocol on access to genetic resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilisation to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) No. (20) of 2021 are completed. In regards to the pillar of institutional development and investment promotion, ASEZA decided to approve the amended bylaw for the "temporary" admission of vehicles for the ASEZA, which will provide a number of incentives to investors and companies. This decision comes within the authority's vision to promote investment, enhance Aqaba's position as a "regional" logistics hub, and encourage companies to register and benefit from the investment incentives offered by ASEZA to investors and investment companies. In regards to the pillar of leadership, innovation and community development, ASEZA decided to agree to contribute to supporting a cultural association to organise and establish a forum for art and culture in Aqaba, with the participation of artists from Arab countries. This decision comes within the authority's vision to promote and develop a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the culture and arts sector, as this forum seeks to promote cultural tourism within the authority's vision to make it an international centre for holding artistic and cultural events. The board also decided to approve the contribution in supporting a sports club in order to participate in the championships of Jordan Football Association in the 2025/2026 football season, through the participation of multiple age groups.
