Vancouver, British Columbia - Newsfile Corp. - April 29, 2025 -("Intrepid" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced at the Corral Copper Property ("Corral" or the "Property"), located in Cochise County, part of the prolific Turquoise District of southeastern Arizona. The 2025 drill program is Intrepid's second drill program on the Property and includes diamond drilling at the Ringo, Earp and Holliday Zones. Drilling will be conducted by Godbe Drilling LLC ("Godbe")."We are excited to announce the commencement of drilling at our Corral Copper Property, with the objective of further delineating and expanding the impressive 3.5 by 1.5 kilometer copper-gold-silver-zinc mineralized footprint identified during our 2024 program," stated Ken Engquist, CEO of Intrepid. "This Phase 2 drill campaign builds on the strong results of our earlier work and is a significant step forward in advancing this highly promising discovery."The initial 5,000m diamond drill program has started at the Ringo Zone ("Ringo"), which delivered high-grade intercepts in 2024, including:from 68.40 to 181.35m in Hole CC24_023 including, from 27.00 to 220.15m in Hole CC24_011 including,Please refer to the Intrepid News Release dated July 9, 2024 and entitled "Intrepid Metals Drills 20.20% Cu, 8.51 gpt Au and 250.00 gpt Ag (23.85% CuEq) at its Corral Copper Property in Arizona" for more details on these results, including details on data verification and exploration information.A total of six drill holes are initially planned at Ringo, after which the drill rig will be mobilized to the Holliday and Earp Zones. Results from the initial 2025 drilling at Ringo, combined with data from the 2024 program, will be used to refine the geological model and optimize subsequent 2025 drilling at Ringo. The Corral Copper Project contains mineralization consistent with Carbonate Replacement Copper-gold-silver deposits ("CRD"), skarn copper-gold and porphyry copper-gold deposits. The Ringo, Holliday and Earp zones at Corral contain broad zones of disseminated and vein style mineralization that are locally high-grade (see above). Intrepid is focused on verifying existing mineralization to establish geological controls on mineralization in known zones, expanding known zones along strike, down dip and down-plunge and testing the Property's porphyry copper potential. Corral is geologically analogous to the prolific Bisbee Camp (located ~100km southeast) where high-grade copper-gold CRD (e.g., Copper Queen; 53Mt @ 6% Copper) are spatially associated with Jurassic porphyry copper-gold porphyry deposits (Lavender Pit; 223 Mt @ 0.63% Copper past production). Although there is porphyry style alteration and mineralization at Corral, a systematic porphyry exploration campaign for the district has not been previously completed. All scientific and technical information in this news release has been prepared by, or approved by Daniel MacNeil, P.Geo. Mr. MacNeil is a Technical Advisor to the Company and is a qualified person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101 - Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.Mr. MacNeil has verified the drilling data disclosed in this news release, including the assay and test data underlying the information or opinions contained in this news release. Mr. MacNeil verified the data disclosed (or underlying the information disclosed) in this news release by reviewing imported and sorted assay data; checking the performance of blank samples and certified reference materials; reviewing the variance in field duplicate results; and reviewing grade calculation formulas. Mr. MacNeil detected no significant QA/QC issues during review of the data and is not aware of any sampling, recovery or other factors that could materially affect the accuracy or reliability of the drilling data referred to in this news release. The Company also announces that it has entered into an agreement to amend the option agreement dated April 20, 2021 with New Empire Exploration LLC (the "Vendor") to acquire a 100% interest in the Tombstone South Property ("Tombstone") located in Arizona. The amendment provides for an extension to complete the required US$1,500,000 work commitment that is due May 2025 to May 2026, and the US$1,500,000 work commitment that is due May 2026 to May 2027, in exchange for the issuance of an additional 300,000 common shares of Intrepid, and payment of an additional US$25,000, in each case to the Vendor. For additional information on the Tombstone Property, please refer to the National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report dated effective May 10, 2021 entitled "Technical Report on the Tombstone South Property, Cochise County, Arizona, USA" filed on SEDAR+ at www.sedarplus.com The Corral Copper Property, located near historical mining areas, is an advanced exploration and development opportunity in Cochise County, Arizona. Corral is located 15 miles east of the famous mining town of Tombstone and 22 miles north of the historic Bisbee mining camp which has produced more than 8 billion pounds of copper. Production from the Bisbee mining camp, or within the district as disclosed in the next paragraph, is not necessarily indicative of the mineral potential at Corral. The district has a mining history dating back to the late 1800s, with several small mines extracting copper from the area in the early 1900s, producing several thousand tons. Between 1950 and 2008, various companies explored parts of the district, but the effort was uncoordinated, non-synergistic and focused on discrete land positions and commodities due to the fragmented ownership. There is over 50,000m of historical drilling at Corral mainly centered on the Ringo, Earp and Holliday Zones and although this core has been destroyed, Intrepid has a historical digital drill hole archive database which the Company uses for the purposes of exploration targeting and drill hole planning. Intrepid, through ongoing exploration drilling and surface geological mapping, sampling and prospecting is increasing confidence in the validity of these data. The Corral Copper Property is comprised of the Excelsior Property, the CCCI Properties, the Sara Claim Group and the MAN Property. The Company has completed the acquisition of the Excelsior Property and Sara Claim Group through purchase and sale agreements. The Company has the right to acquire the corporate group that holds the CCCI Properties through an option agreement. The Company has the right to acquire the MAN Property through an option agreement. See the "Commitments" section of the Company's most recently filed Management Discussion and Analysis for further details.Intrepid is confident that by combining modern exploration techniques with historical data and with a clear focus on responsible development, the Corral Copper Property can quickly become an advanced exploration stage project and move towards development studies.Intrepid Metals Corp. is a Canadian company focused on exploring for high-grade essential metals such as copper, silver, and zinc mineral projects in proximity to established mining jurisdictions in southeastern Arizona, USA. The Company has acquired or has agreements to acquire several drill ready projects, including the Corral Copper Project (a district scale advanced exploration and development opportunity with significant shallow historical drill results), the Tombstone South Project (within the historical Tombstone mining district with geological similarities to the Taylor Deposit, which was purchased for $1.3B in 2018, though mineralization at the Taylor Deposit is not necessarily indicative of the mineral potential at the Tombstone South Project) both of which are located in Cochise County, Arizona and the Mesa Well Project (located in the Laramide Copper Porphyry Belt in Arizona). Intrepid has assembled an exceptional team with considerable experience with exploration, developing, and permitting new projects within North America. Intrepid is traded on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) under the symbol "INTR" and on the OTCQB Venture Market under the symbol "IMTCF". KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 5 June 2025 - May proved to be a rather challenging month for gold traders. XAUUSD, the primary financial instrument for trading gold, fluctuated in a relatively broad range between $3,120 and $3,435 per ounce (oz), but finished the month virtually unchanged, narrowly recording a fifth consecutive monthly gain. Although trading started on a bearish note, XAUUSD found support in the $3,200 area and even rebounded slightly. However, the failure to confidently break above the critical $3,430 mark led to a short-term bearish trend, with prices falling by nearly 9% by mid-May. Subsequently, technical dip-buying and robust safe-haven demand spurred a recovery in XAUUSD, which remained comfortably above its 50-, 100-, and 200-day moving averages (MAs). Nevertheless, May marked the first month since November 2024 when gold did not reach a new all-time high. Notably, the monthly chart for May has formed a strong doji candlestick, potentially signalling traders' indecision and a possible mid-term the past month presented a rather bumpy ride for traders as it was fueled by a series of notable market-moving events (outlined below). Gold investors contended with persistent trade-related news, shifting geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, rapidly changing monetary policy expectations and U.S. recession probabilities as well as escalating concerns regarding global debt and weakening U.S. dollar. Demonstrating its traditional role, gold once again highlighted its inherent value as a safe-haven asset, potentially indicating continued positive performance in the near future.' says Kar Yong Ang, a financial market analyst at Octa broker. ''.Indeed, as mentioned previously, the XAUUSD monthly chart shows a significant doji candlestick for May, indicating trader indecision and a potential mid-term reversal. In fact, the short-term trend from 22 April can generally be described as 'sideways', as traders are unsure about the bullion's next big the broader, long-term trend is still decidedly bullish, as gold's price remains comfortably above key trendlines and MAs. Overall, chaotic U.S. trade policy, rising fears about the sustainability of the U.S. twin deficits (fiscal and trade), endless geopolitical tensions and political instability, and solid structural demand on the part of central banks helped keep the bullion's price near all-time highs. In addition, the big technical picture has been positive, resulting in trend buying by demand for bullion has been a key driver behind the rising price of gold in recent months. Just recently, a Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) report showed that China's total gold imports via Hong Kong nearly tripled in April, hitting their highest level in more than a year. A total of 58.61 metric tons (mt) of gold was imported via Hong Kong in April, up 178.17% from 21.07 tons in March. And these figures may not even provide a complete picture of Chinese purchases, as gold is also imported via Shanghai and Beijing. Indeed, the People's Bank of China (PBoC) has been actively adding gold to its reserves for six straight months. According to the World Gold Council, PBoC added 2.2 mt to its gold holdings in April, which now stand at 2,295 mt, 6.8% of total reserve assets. Other countries, notably India and Russia, also continued to stockpile gold. Overall, according to global broker Octa's estimates, global central banks have added more than 240 tons of gold to their reserves in Q1 U.S. trade policy also affected physical flows among Western nations. According to Swiss customs data, gold imports to Switzerland from the U.S. jumped to the highest monthly level since at least April 2012 after excluding precious metals from U.S. import tariffs. Reuters reported that Switzerland, the world's biggest bullion refining and transit hub, and Britain, home to the world's largest over-the-counter gold trading hub, registered massive outflows to the U.S. over December-March as traders sought to hedge against the possibility of broad U.S. tariffs hitting bullion from central banks, global investors have also remained quite bullish on gold. According to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), large speculators (leveraged funds and money managers) were still net-long COMEX gold futures and options as of 27 May, 2025. Long positions totalled 152,034 contracts vs only 34,797 short contracts. Meanwhile, according to LSEG, a financial firm, flows into physically-backed gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) reached almost 50 mt year-to-date. Most recently, however, speculative bullish interest in gold and ETFs flows have been subsiding.', says Kar Yong Ang, adding that ETFs actually recorded a minor outflow in the first half of the outlook for gold looks bright, but there are important caveats. We have singled out three important factors that will continue to play out in June and the rest of global economic and geopolitical risks continue to play out, with the ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and the rest of the world, particularly China, being the most critical factor affecting the gold market and the global financial conflicts in the Middle East, such as the Israel-Hamas hostilities, a brief spat between India and Pakistan, and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, have destabilised world politics and raised many fears ranging from oil and food supply disruptions to the prospect of a worldwide conflict. Gold, considered a 'safe-haven' asset, typically sees increased demand during political uncertainty and instability. While it is extremely difficult to project the resolution of geopolitical conflicts, let alone to forecast the emergence of new ones, peace negotiations in the hottest regions have already commenced. '' says Kar Yong Ang, global broker Octa looming 8 July tariff deadline imposed by U.S. President Trump further complicates the global political landscape, adding another reason for gold prices to remain elevated. As of today, the United Kingdom is the only country that has signed a new trade deal with the U.S., while trade talks with dozens of other countries have progressed too slowly. Negotiations remain unwieldy, while China and the U.S., the world's two largest economies, continue to accuse one another of breaching the Geneva trade deal. As long as trade tensions persist, investors will be reluctant to sell is priced in U.S. dollars and is therefore highly sensitive to changes in U.S. interest rates, inflation, and the greenback's value. As already mentioned, the market is positioned for a dovish Fed. In fact, the latest interest rates swap market data implies roughly 75 basis points (bps) worth of rate cuts by the Fed by the end of December 2025. It is widely expected that other central banks will not fall far behind. For example, after the latest Eurozone inflation figures came out lower than expected, investors now expect the European Central Bank (ECB) to deliver two quarter-point rate cuts by the end of December 2025. Likewise, the Bank of England (BoE) is anticipated to announce at least two rate cuts of 25 bps each before the end of the year. Fundamentally, a less tight (or looser) monetary policy worldwide is a major bullish factor for gold. Because gold has no passive income and does not pay any interest, the opportunity cost of holding it becomes lower when central banks reduce their policy rates. The main risk, of course, is inflation. Should it remain above central banks' targets or, even worse, start to increase, the Fed and its counterparts will be forced to hold the rates higher for longer.' says Kar Yong demand for gold may continue to increase primarily because China, a significant gold consumer, remains an active buyer, but also because global central banks in general are increasingly turning to gold to diversify their reserves away from the U.S. dollar. Specifically, China has seen its national currency, the renminbi (RMB), appreciate more than 2% over the past month. This is not a welcoming development for a country whose economy heavily depends on exports. Thus, Chinese authorities may relax gold import quotas to stop the yuan from appreciating too much. As a result, the physical and investment demand for gold in China may rise in the months ahead. As for India, the demand for gold may temporarily slow due to seasonal factors, but is unlikely to reverse. Indian jewellers may delay making new stock acquisitions as monsoon rains are arriving, while the wedding season is concluding, but that will only have a temporary Yong Ang, global broker Octa analyst, said: '.'Overall, we continue to see a generally bullish picture for gold, but it may be changing soon. Fundamentally, gold is still a 'buy' but no longer a 'screaming buy', as we labelled it in our August 2024 Digest. Wall Street analysts predict higher prices. Goldman Sachs recently hiked its 2025 gold forecast to $3,700 per oz, particularly due to strong central bank demand, implying a 10% upside potential from the current levels. At the same time, large speculators have already started to reduce their net-long exposure, while the outlook for the global monetary policy remains uncertain due to tariffs. Investors, in general, may be a bit too optimistic when it comes to rate cuts.', said Kar Yong Ang, global broker Octa analyst. Next month will be critical for the gold market as it features seven key rate decisions and will likely be packed with news related to trade negotiations. Traders should be cautious as June news may essentially determine the XAUUSD trend for the next six months.___Hashtag: #Octa The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. Intervals and unique sample numbers are recorded on the drill logs and the samples are sequenced with standards and blanks inserted according to a predefined QA/QC procedure. The samples are maintained under security on site until they are shipped to the analytical core samples were sent to ALS Geochemistry (ALS), a division of ALS Global, in Tucson, Arizona, for sample preparation, with pulps sent to the ALS Geochemistry laboratory in Reno, Nevada for analysis. ALS meets all requirements of International Standards ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 for analytical procedures and is independent of the Company. HQ size core was split and sampled over approximately two metre intervals. Samples were analyzed using: ALS's Fire Assay Fusion method (Au-AA23) with an AA finish for gold and by gravimetric finish (Au-GRA21) for samples assaying greater than 10 ppm (gpt) gold; by a 36-element four acid digest ICP-AES analysis (ME-ICP61) with additional analysis for Ore Grade Cu (Cu-OG62), Ore Grade Zn (Zn-OG62) and Ore Grade Pb (Pb-OG62); and for silver assays above 100 ppm (g/t) by Fire Assay Fusion method with gravimetric finish (Ag-GRA21). ME-ICP61 results were reported in parts per million (ppm), Ore Grade (OG62) results were reported in percent (%). In addition to ALS quality assurance- quality control (QA/QC) protocols, Intrepid implements an internal QA/QC program that includes the insertion of sample blanks, duplicates, and standards, with QA/QC control samples comprising approximately 10% of the sample streamThe Corral Copper Property, located near historical mining areas, is an advanced exploration and development opportunity in Cochise County, Arizona. Corral is located 15 miles east of the famous mining town of Tombstone and 22 miles north of the historic Bisbee mining camp which has produced more than 8 billion pounds of copper. Production from the Bisbee mining camp, or within the district as disclosed in the next paragraph, is not necessarily indicative of the mineral potential at district has a mining history dating back to the late 1800s, with several small mines extracting copper from the area in the early 1900s, producing several thousand tons. Intrepid, through ongoing exploration drilling and surface geological mapping, sampling and prospecting is increasing confidence in the validity of these Corral Copper Property is comprised of the Excelsior Property, the CCCI Properties, the Sara Claim Group and the MAN Property. All intervals reported are core lengths, and true thicknesses are yet to be determined. Mineral resource modeling is required before true thicknesses can be estimated. Analyzed Grade corresponds composite weighted ("composites") averages of laboratory analyses. Metal Equivalent corresponds to undiluted metal equivalent of reported composites and Diluted Metal Equivalent takes into account estimated recovery of 85% for copper, and 80% for gold, silver and zinc for reported composites. Metal prices used for the CuEq and AuEQ calculations are in USD based on Ag $22.00/oz, Au $1900/oz, Cu $3.80/lb, Zn $1.15/lb The following equation was used to calculate copper equivalence: CuEq = Copper (%) (85% rec.) + (Gold (g/t) x 0.729150601917791)(80% rec.) + (Silver (g/t) x 0.00844279644325863)(80% rec.) + (Zinc (%) x 0.302631578947368)(80% rec.). The following equation was used to calculate gold equivalence: AuEq = Gold (gpt)(80% rec.) + (Copper (%) x 1.3714285702785)(85% rec.) + (Silver (gpt) x 0.0115789473684211)(80% rec.) + (Zinc (%) x 0.415037593636916)(80% rec.). Wall Street stocks surge on hopes of US-China trade deal
Gold hit US$3,500 an ounce for the first time as Donald Trump's tariffs and attack on Federal Reserve policies sparked demand. (AP pic) NEW YORK : Wall Street stocks rebounded Tuesday on upbeat remarks by US officials about trade talks with China, after gold earlier hit a record on jitters surrounding tariffs and other issues. All three major US indexes rose by more than 2% following White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt's comments that Trump was 'setting the stage for a deal with China.' The Dow ended 2.7% higher while the broad-based S&P 500 climbed 2.5%t. Europe's main indexes logged gains as well, as the region's trading resumed after a long-weekend break for Easter. Earlier Tuesday, gold reached US$3,500 an ounce for the first time as Trump's sweeping tariffs and verbal assault on Federal Reserve policies prompted investors to snap up the safe-haven asset. Asian indexes closed mixed, while oil prices firmed. 'Looking at today's rebound for equities, you might be forgiven for thinking that financial markets have forgotten all about Trump's threats to fire Powell,' said IG analyst Chris Beauchamp, referring to Fed chairman Jerome Powell. Panicked Wall Street investors dumped US assets on Monday, with all three main indexes ending down around 2.5%, after Trump took another in a series of swipes at the Fed chair. The president last week criticised Powell over the latter's warning that the White House's sweeping levies would likely reignite inflation. Trump sent shivers through markets Monday by again calling on Powell to make pre-emptive cuts to US interest rates. The outbursts have fanned concern that Trump is preparing to oust the head of the US central bank. Trump's top economic adviser Kevin Hassett said Friday that the president was looking at whether he could do so. But Wall Street rebounded strongly on Tuesday. analyst Patrick O'Hare put part of the rebound down to sentiment that Trump would not fire Powell, and instead was 'simply setting him up now to take the blame in the event of an economic downturn.' Markets also climbed after US treasury secretary Scott Bessent told a closed-door event in Washington that he expected a de-escalation soon in the US' tariff standoff with China. Later in the day, Leavitt told reporters that 'the president and the administration are setting the stage for a deal,' noting that 'the ball is moving in the right direction.' All eyes were on Tesla, too, as the company reported financial results after the closing bell. It announced a 71% drop in first-quarter profits Tuesday, in results that lagged analyst estimates. The electric vehicle producer warned of a hit to demand due to 'changing political sentiment.' Tesla shares were up 0.4% in after-hours trading. Its shares have tanked more than 35% from the start of the year as Elon Musk's political role in the Trump administration has dented the brand's image. The carmaker has also been caught up in tariff turmoil. Separately, investors largely shrugged off the International Monetary Fund saying Trump's new tariff policies would take a big bite out of global growth, with many already having factored in their impact. The IMF now sees the global economy growing by 2.8% this year, 0.5 percentage points lower than its previous forecast in January.
