Premier League kick-off time changes for 2025/26 as Sky Sports add more TV games
Sky Sports are set to feature the opening weekend of the new Premier League season across five different kick-off times - as the broadcaster expands their coverage of the English top-flight to record levels. The 2025/26 season will have at least 215 games broadcasted on Sky Sports, a significant increase on the previous 128 Premier League matches.
Sky's exclusive live coverage of the record number of featured fixtures is part of their new rights deal with the Premier League that runs until May 2029.
Thanks to the deal, the new campaign will begin with a bang with reigning champions Liverpool kicking off the season at home to Bournemouth on Friday (August 15) at 8pm.
TNT Sports retain coverage of the 12:30pm kick-off with Aston Villa welcoming Newcastle on Saturday (August 16) in the first early start of the season.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are slated for Saturday's 5:30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports as they travel to Wolves.
The first Super Sunday of the season (August 17) is a scorcher as it's an all-London affair that kicks off proceedings at 2pm with Chelsea playing host to city rivals Crystal Palace.
The primetime 4:30pm slot features an age-old rivalry in English football with Manchester United hoping to get off to a good start in Ruben Amorim's first full season in charge as they challenge three-time runner's up Arsenal.
In the new season's first TV broadcast of a newly-promoted Premier League side, it's Leeds United who bear that honour as they welcome Everton to Elland Road for Monday Night Football (August 18).
The increased number of fixtures for the new campaign mean that for the first time, Sky Sports will show multiple games in the 2pm slot rather than just one on several weekends throughout the season.
Fans will also be able to enjoy more Friday Night Football and Monday Night Football than ever before. It's more good news for supporters as Sky will show every game on the last day of the season live for the first time ever.

Newcastle's Alexander Isak: When trust is lost, the relationship can't continue
The Sweden striker, who has been the subject of a rejected bid from Liverpool, was not involved in Newcastle's Premier League opener on Saturday as they failed to score in a goalless draw at Aston Villa, having been training alone after refusing to play in some pre-season matches. On Tuesday the 25-year-old, who scored 27 goals in 42 games for the Magpies last season, was named in the PFA Premier League team of the season and used a post on Instagram expressing his gratitude to address his situation, accusing the club of breaking promises. 'I've kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken,' Isak wrote. 'That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors. 'The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To act now as if these issues are only emerging is misleading. 'When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can't continue. That's where things are for me right now – and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself.' Isak's situation has turned into a saga which has rumbled throughout this transfer window. As speculation mounted over a possible transfer in July, Isak missed the club's pre-season tour of Asia with the club citing a thigh injury, and then trained alone at his former club Real Sociedad. Liverpool had a bid reportedly worth £110million plus add-ons rejected by Newcastle at the start of August but have retained an interest in the player despite signing Hugo Ekitike – a forward who was also targeted by Newcastle. Newcastle are said to value Isak at £150million, and would only consider a sale if they have signed a replacement. As well as missing out on Ekitike, Newcastle were frustrated in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko who chose to join Manchester United. Isak, who returned to training at Newcastle on August 4, has three years remaining on his contract at St James' Park, and it was understood he would be fined if he missed competitive matches as a result of his desire to leave. After Saturday's match at Villa, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said 'other people are dealing with that issue'. Howe has continued to express his hope that Isak stays at the club. Isak began his post on Tuesday by saying he was 'proud' to be included in the PFA Premier League team of the year. 'First and foremost I want to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way,' he wrote. 'I'm not at the ceremony tonight. With everything going on, it didn't feel right to be there.' Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers crowned PFA's Young Player of the Year
Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers has been crowned the 2024/25 PFA's Young Player of the Year. He was recognised at the annual PFA Awards in Manchester on Tuesday evening, taking home the prestigious PFA prize. The attacking midfielder was a key cornerstone of Villa's side, as a sixth-placed finish secured European football for a third year running. Having missed just one Premier League match all season through suspension, Rogers made 37 appearances in the league, all of which being starts, playing a total of 3,129 minutes. The England international was voted for the award by his peers after a campaign which saw him rack up 18 goal contributions in 37 Premier League outings throughout 2024/25. Rogers was present alongside club officials at the star-studded ceremony at the Manchester Opera House, where he accepted the award up on stage. Rogers joined Aston Villa in February 2024, after completing a deadline-day move from Middlesbrough. Following his arrival at Villa Park, Rogers made his debut in a 5-0 victory at Sheffield United before scoring his first goal in claret and blue against Brentford in April. Further stellar performances continued at the start of the 2024/25 campaign, resulting in a maiden call-up to England's senior squad for November's international fixtures, where he made his Three Lions debut against Greece. The following week, Rogers was rewarded with a new contract at the club until 2030. Rogers' superb 2024/25 campaign was his first for Villa in the top flight and included a memorable hat-trick in the club's 4-2 UEFA Champions League triumph over Celtic.
