A heatwave and a thunderstorm with hail and wind are expected to hit several provinces across Morocco.
A new weather alert from the General Directorate of Meteorology said a heatwave will range between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius from Sunday and Monday.
The heatwave will concern the provinces of Tata, Zagora, Khouribga, Ouezzane, Beni Mellal, and Fqih Ben Salah.
The same weather will cover Meknes, El Hajeb, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, and Taza.
From Tuesday and Wednesday, the same weather hit the provinces of Rehamna, El Kelaa Seraghna, Marrakech, Zagora, Taroudant, Taounate, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Meknes, Fez, Fquih Ben Salah, and Beni Mellal.
Temperatures ranging between 44 and 47 degrees will concern the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, and Aousserd from Tuesday to Friday.

The weather alert also forecasts temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees during the same period in the provinces of Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, El Kelaa Seraghna, Rehamna, Settat, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tan-Tan, Guelmim, and Laayoune. On Wednesday, temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees are expected in the provinces of Ouezzane, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Khouribga, Khemisset, Taza, Taounate, Guercif, Sefrou, and Khenifra. Temperatures between 40 and 44 °C will meanwhile be recorded in Essaouira, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Inzegane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, and Tarfaya from Friday to Sunday. In addition, thunderstorms, hail, and winds will be experienced in several provinces on Wednesday between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. According to the weather office, rainfall ranging between 20 to 40 millimeters will hit the provinces of Al Haouz, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Azilal, and Tinghir. And the cities of Boulemane, Sefrou, Taza, Khenifra, Chichaoua, Midelt, Al Hociema, Jerada, and Taourit will experience precipitation between 15 and 30 millimeters. The same weather will affect Guercif and El Kelaa Seraghna. This weather forecast comes in the aftermath of floods that struck several Moroccan provinces after a wave of thunderstorms.
