Sesko talks held and price quoted as Arsenal lead Man Utd in race for defender
Arsenal continue their pursuit of a new striker as they begin negotiations for Benjamin Sesko whilst their Premier League rivals are battling them for some of their other targets Arsenal are set for a massive summer if they want to take the final step and become Premier League champions following a third straight second place finish. Mikel Arteta was left to rue Liverpool's title charge, but the issues within the team are obvious. The Gunners' priority will be on adding a No 9, which they've been unable to land in recent summers. Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have emerged as their two leading targets, but neither will come cheap. Sesko's club RB Leipzig have shown themselves willing to sell their top stars, as have Gyokeres' employers Sporting Lisbon. Although their club chief has underlined their desire to retain the Swede after winning the Portuguese title. Arsenal are thought to be closing in on the signing of Martin Zubimendi, who will join from Real Sociedad. Zubimendi is set to cost just over £50million with more business expected at the Emirates. Here's the latest rumours from the north London. Sesko talks held Arsenal have opened talks with Leipzig over a deal to sign Sesko. The Daily Mail understands that Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta has held talks with the German club's chief Marcel Schafer. It has emerged that the Bundesliga side want an initial £75m fee for the 22-year-old, who scored 13 times last term, and is tipped as a star of the future. He is one of several striker's being considered by the club, who accept that this summer has to be the window when they land a prolific frontman. Kai Havertz was Arsenal's top scorer in the Premier League with just nine strikes. Only two teams - including relegated Southampton - had a top scorer who netted fewer times. Arteta leading race for Italian teen Arsenal are thought to be in pole position to beat Manchester United as they both look to land Giovanni Leoni. The defender has been making quite an impression due to his performances for Parma in Serie A. Leoni appears to have a number of admirers in the Premier League with the Gunners and the Red Devils among them. FootballTransfers now report that those from north London have moved ahead of their rivals in the race for the Italian Under-19 international after talks were held. The biggest potential hurdle for Arsenal is that a number of top Italian clubs also want Leoni this summer, which could prove a problem for Arteta and co if they teenager wants to remain in his homeland. Tottenham rival Gunners in Sane talks Arsenal and Tottenham are both in talks over a potential deal for Leroy Sane. The ex-Man City winger is out of contract at Bayern Munich later this month and has yet to agree an extension despite the Bundesliga champions wanting to seal a new agreement until 2028. Sane is being heavily linked with a return to the Premier League and Bild claims that his agent Pini Zahavi has been in discussions with both Arsenal and Tottenham. The German has delivered inconsistently throughout his time at the Allianz Arena, but was a big hit in England. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Man Utd plot second incoming Premier League transfer as Garnacho wants £50m deal
Manchester United have completed their first summr transfer in Matheus Cunha but could see some difficulty facilitating all of the exits they desire The transfer window has only been open a day, but Manchester United are already set to be one of the most talked about clubs across the summer. Ruben Amorim's side are set to see plenty of turnover as the Portuguese coach looks to turnaround the team's performances. Bruno Fernandes' name will dominate headlines in the short-term having been set a deadline by Al Hilal to decide on a £100million move away from United. The Portuguese star's cryptic social media post, certainly did little to quieten speculation. Exits also await for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony, who both spent the second half of last season on loan. United will hope to find permanent moves for the duo as they attempt to raise funds. There will be incoming deals to look forward to too. Matheus Cunha has seen a deal agreed to join the Red Devils, while potential Fernandes replacements area already been touted. A busy few months awaits. Rashford blow Manchester United have been handed a setback in their bid to offload Marcus Rashford this summer, with Barcelona telling the Red Devils they don't want to pay for the winger, according to reports. Rashford is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after a successful loan spell at Aston Villa. The 27-year-old netted four goals and assisted five more under Unai Emery but does not appear to want to remain in the Midlands, despite Villa holding a £40m option to sign him permanently. Rashford desires a move that will see him play in the Champions League, with Barcelona said to be his preference. According to German outlet Bild, the club do not want to pay the £40m fee associated with him however. Barca boss Hansi Flick is interested in making the deal happen but the side are only keen on a loan move. That will come as significant blow to United, who are in a difficult financial position and want to bring in cash if they are to spend this summer. Garnacho preference Alejandro Garnacho is targeting a £50m move to Chelsea this summer, despite interest from Napoli, reports claim. The 20-year-old is another who looks certain for an Old Trafford exit having been told to find a new club. Garnacho was benched by Amorim for the team's 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham before being left out for the final day of the season clash against Aston Villa. His manager said to have told him "you better pray that you can find a club to sign you". Reports claim the Argentina international wants stay in England to establish himself as a world star. Chelsea were interested in signing the winger in January, with his representatives pictured at Stamford Bridge. Surprise move After signing Matheus Cunha, United could look to make another Premier League addition according to reports. The Red Devils are eyeing a deal for Brighton ace Pervis Estupinan. The club are said to have made an enquiry over the defender, who would be seen as bringing greater physicality into the side. Though United only signed Patrick Dorgu in January and still have Luke Shaw at their disposal. Amorim does not believe his squad to be fast enough or physical enough currently however.

Nottingham Forest close in on Botafogo trio after holding productive talks with Brazilian club
Nottingham Forest have held further productive talks over signing three Botafogo players. Those players are centre-back Jair Cunha, striker Igor Jesus and left-back Cuiabano. Cuiabano was a target for Brighton. Jesus, 24, was wanted by Forest in January. All three played in Sunday's 1-0 with over Santos and Mail Sport expects the deals to be completed following the Club World Cup. Forest attempted to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford in January and could make another move for him in the summer. Wissa scored 19 non-penalty goals in the Premier League this season, which was level with Erling Halaand and Alexander Isak, and behind only Mohamed Salah 's 20. The arrival of Edu, working across Evangelos Marinakis' clubs, will strengthen ties to the Brazilian market. And that could see Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz become an option, according to Mail Sport's Tom Collomosse. Manchester City playmaker James McAtee, who has had few minutes at the Etihad, is another they admire.
