SRIKAKULAM
Ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, Srikakulam-based artist V. Rahul Patnaik has created a miniature painting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a yoga posture on a Peepal leaf.
The artwork painted using acrylic colours, features the Prime Minister in a meditative yoga posture. Mr. Modi is set to participate in the massive Yogandhra-2025 event in Visakhapatnam alongside five lakh people.
Explaining his choice of canvas, Mr. Patnaik said that he selected the leaf of the Peepal, Bodhi tree, as it is considered to be the most sacred tree in Hinduism and Buddhism. The tree is also known for its spiritual significance and medicinal properties. Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Mahabodhi tree. It took him five hours to complete the miniature paointin.
He said: 'The leaf represents wisdom and healing making it the perfect medium.'
