Red Book applies to wrongdoers only: Gottipati Ravi
Ongole: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar issued a strong warning that the 'Red Book' will only apply to those who commit wrongdoings, ensuring they will face consequences. The minister and others participated in the inauguration of Sri Harshini Engineering & Technology College for Women at Yedugundlapadu.
The minister encouraged students to develop political consciousness from an early age, arguing that social change is possible through political awareness and youth engagement. He assured students that the coalition government will stand in their support.
Speaking to the media, the minister emphasised that the NDA government in the state is a people's government committed to ensuring citizens' freedom of movement. He criticised the previous government under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the Electricity department was used as a revenue source to burden the people unnecessarily.
The minister announced that the coalition government has not and will not increase electricity charges. He revealed that they renegotiated a power supply agreement with Axis Energy, reducing the per-unit rate from Rs 5.12 to Rs 4.60, aimed at minimising the financial burden on citizens.
He stressed the government's commitment to provide quality electricity at affordable rates, in line with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's vision. He announced a significant focus on renewable energy projects in Prakasam district and Rayalaseema districts.
Gottipati Ravi Kumar also accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of repeatedly attempting to malign the coalition government, emphasising that their administration is a truly democratic government that prioritises people's interests and freedom. The minister concluded by reaffirming the government's commitment to transparent and people-friendly governance, promising to continue working for the welfare of the citizens.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the party leaders to organise victory rallies in all the constituencies on June 12 marking the completion of one year of the NDA rule in the State, and says he will discuss the way forward in a meeting of the MPs and MLAs of the TDP, JSP and BJP the same day. Addressing a teleconference with the Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said the welfare schemes and development activities should be explained to the people to let them know how the NDA was undoing the damage that had been done by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in 2019-24, when the State lost its reputation and was teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. The NDA could bring about a welcome change in the last one year and it had to sustain the positive momentum for the next four years. Mr. Naidu said he was getting the impact of the performance of the government and the TDP assessed from time to time in order to make up for any shortcomings. Also, the party was tracking how the leaders were functioning, on the basis of which they would be encouraged to do better, or set aside from their roles, he said. He observed that most of the MLAs and MPs got closer to the people through their work and brought good name for the party and government. 'The government cannot afford to let administrative mistakes cost its image. In this regard, the Ministers and other elected representatives must be vigilant,' he observed. The NDA was moving forward with all its strength to rebuild the State that had been destroyed by the YSRCP, which was apparently trying to throw a spanner in the works even after suffering an ignominious defeat in the general elections, he said. The government was committed to completing the Polavaram project by 2027, and the State could secure a financial package of ₹11,400 crore for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), while the ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel was preparing to set up a massive plant in Anakapalli district, he said.

Focus is on enhancing diagnostic equipment in government hospitals, says Health Minister
The TDP-led NDA government in the State has evolved an action plan aimed at infusing a sense of discipline among doctors, bringing a change in their conduct towards patients and enhancing diagnostic equipment in government hospitals, according to Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav. Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Saturday (June 7, 2025), the Minister took a jibe at the YSRCP, and said the NDA did not consider people who voted against them as 'back stabbers'. 'We try to fulfil the promises made to the people. We have worked with accountability and responsibility,' he said. Giving an account of the changes in the Primary Health sector, the Minister said, in recognition of the State's efforts in improving the implementation of the Centrally-sponsored schemes at the village level, the Centre sanctioned ₹100 crore for the State towards performance incentive. 'This is not a small thing. During the past five years, the Centre did not give any such incentive,' the Minister said, adding the present government secured funds, to the tune of ₹1,065 crore, from the Centre for construction of 3,318 buildings of Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs in the State. At present, many were being run in rented spaces. Pointing out that timely and reliable diagnostic confirmation of diseases was the first step in ensuring healthcare for all, he said the government procured more than 3,200 diagnostic equipment in the past one year and decided to conduct 47 types of diagnostic tests at the doorstep of the people through the '104' service vehicles. Referring to the Tirumala laddu episode, the Minister said the government was focussing on opening drug testing laboratories in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Kurnool. New labs had been sanctioned for Tirumala, Eluru and Ongole. In line with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision of digitising healthcare, the Minister said an MoU had been signed with the Bill Gates Foundation for setting up Digital Health Command and Care Centre, strengthening Telemedicine services, supply chain management for drugs and consumables. Giving numbers as 'stastical evidence' of the change brought in by the present government, he said the attendance of doctors and other medical staff had increased by about 7.42% to 14.20%, OP services increased by about 8%, In-Patient (IP) services saw an improvement of 4% to 17.61%, lab tests saw an increase of 7.20%. He added that various surveys had shown that the public perception regarding availability of doctors in Government General Hospitals, their attitude, supply of free medicines improved. Talking about further plans, the Minister said the universal health insurance of up to ₹25 lakh would be rolled out soon. During an interaction with the mediapersons, the Minister said the COVID situation was not alarming in the State and that there were no restrictions on gathering. 'We have N95 masks, oxygen cylinders, beds, wards ready. However, the situation is not alarming and there is nothing to worry,' he said, adding that only those with comorbidities need to be extra careful. Health Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu and Commissioner G. Veerapandian were present.

20% ethanol blending achieved after policy changes in 2014, says Fadnavis
1 2 Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday lauded the efforts of Pune-based Praj Industries for its contribution to biofuel generation and said the sector suffered due to the lack of a policy during the UPA-led govt's tenure. It was only after NDA formed govt in 2014 that did India start achieving 20% ethanol blending with petrol that could help save crores of rupees in foreign exchange, he said. "The period from 2009 to 2014 was a struggle not only for Praj Industries but for the entire country. Before that, during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's govt, he formed a committee to study ethanol blending and a decision was made for 5% blending with petrol. However, the subsequent govt failed to implement the decision effectively," he said in Pune. The CM further said whenever the demand to increase the ethanol blending percentage was raised (during the UPA tenure), some people would claim that a developing country like India could not afford it by compromising food security. "The scenario changed after 2014 when the NDA govt, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, brought changes in the policy to increase the percentage. The country has achieved 20% ethanol blending due to which India is saving crores of rupees in foreign exchange, which we would have to spend on importing fuel," Fadnavis said at an event organised to release a book written by the founder president of Praj Industries, Pramod Chaudhari.
