People faced problems during YSRCP' rule

Visakhapatnam: Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said that the state's economic situation was very miserable under the previous government's tenure and that it's their responsibility to bring it back to normal. Speaking at a door-to-door programme 'suparipalanalo tholi adugu' organised to mark the completion of a year of the coalition government, the minister said that people who were fed up of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's rule gave the largest majority to the alliance. He campaigned at Gurrampalem under the Pendurthi constituency and enquired about the implementation of Super Six schemes by the state governmen. Speaking at the public meeting held later, the minister said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is organising the 'suparipalanalo tholi adugu' programme with an aim to understand the problems of the people at the ground level and resolving them. He alleged that people faced a lot of problems due to Jagan Mohan Reddy between 2019 and 2024 as he had no political experience. The Agriculture Minister stated that all the systems in the state were weakened by the YSRCP and Jagan Mohan Reddy incurred debts to the tune of Rs 12 lakh crore and destroyed the economy. Despite the challenges, the NDA government is implementing Super Six as promised, he underlined. The minister said that while the pension was increased by Rs 250 per year during the YSRCP government, it was increased by Rs 1,000 for beneficiaries at once as soon as the NDA government came to power. Even as the government does not have funds to implement the free bus scheme, the minister said, the scheme will come into force from August.

Andhra liquor scam: Former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy received kickbacks, alleges chargesheet

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy allegedly received kickbacks of Rs 50 crore to Rs 60 crore per month during his tenure as Andhra Pradesh's chief minister, PTI quoted the police's chargesheet in the Rs 3,500-crore liquor scam case as having claimed. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was the chief minister between May 2019 and June 2024, has not been named as an accused in the case, according to reports. The Criminal Investigation Department filed the chargesheet in a Vijayawada court on Saturday. The court is yet to take cognisance of the chargesheet, the news agency reported. The case pertains to an alleged scam involving the excise policy under the YSR Congress Party government, which was allegedly structured to benefit select companies and suppliers. The police have alleged that the firms paid kickbacks that were routed to Jagan Mohan Reddy through intermediaries. The bribes were allegedly handed over to Jagan Mohan Reddy's former IT advisor Kesireddy Rajashekar Reddy, who channelled the money through a network of shell companies, PTI quoted the chargesheet as having alleged. The money was then allegedly transferred to party leaders and 'masterminds' V Vijayasai Reddy and PV Midhun Reddy, who allegedly passed it on to Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister at the time. Vijayasai Reddy is a former Rajya Sabha MP, while Midhun Reddy is a three-time Lok Sabha MP from Rajampet. On Sunday, a special Anti-Corruption Bureau court in Vijayawada remanded Midhun Reddy to judicial custody till August 1 in connection with the case, The Hindu reported. He was arrested on Saturday. The police have arrested 12 persons as part of its investigation. Jagan Mohan Reddy rejects allegations In a social media post, Jagan Mohan Reddy described the allegations against him as ' manufactured narrative ' created for 'media theatrics' and to divert attention from real problems. He also accused the Telugu Desam Party-led government of 'reviving corrupt liquor practices'. 'The entire case is built on statements extracted under pressure, threats, third-degree torture, and also through bribes and inducements,' he alleged. 'This is not a legal process, but a political witch-hunt.' He also condemned the arrest of Midhun Reddy, describing it as 'political vendetta'. I strongly condemn the illegal arrest of YSRCP Lok Sabha MP Sri P.V. Midhun Reddy. This is nothing but a political conspiracy designed to silence those who stand with the people. Minister Kollu hits back at YSRCP for its divisive tactics

VIJAYAWADA: Mines, Geology, and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra accused the YSRCP, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, of orchestrating violence and conspiracies to destabilise the State and defame the TDP-led coalition government. Speaking to media personnel at the TDP national office in Mangalagiri on Sunday, Kollu lambasted the YSRCP for resorting to divisive tactics to create unrest and obstruct the State's progress. He warned that the public is aware of YSRCP's tactics and predicted the party's political decline, stating, 'From 151, to 11, YSRCP's downfall is evident, and soon it will vanish from Andhra's political landscape.' Regarding the recent incident involving Krishna district ZP chairperson Uppala Harika, Ravindra clarified that her vehicle was released by police, but she returned and verbally abused TDP leaders and law enforcement, provoking a reaction from locals. He accused YSRCP of attempting to falsely pin the blame on the TDP leadership to tarnish their image. 'YSRCP's efforts to create chaos and attribute it to TDP have failed,' Kollu asserted, alleging that Jagan's leadership is fostering lawlessness across Andhra Pradesh. Kollu claimed that during its five-year rule, the YSRCP regime 'ruined' the State, creating an environment of fear that deterred investors.
