Oregon suspends receiver Jurrion Dickey
Dickey, a former five-star recruit, has played in 15 games in two years with the Ducks, but has only had two catches for 14 yards.
Lanning did not specify the reasons for Dickey's suspension, but said the team has two team rules, 'be respectful, be on time.'
'There's some pieces of that where I felt like he needed a break from us and we needed a break from that so we could focus on what's in front of us right now," Lanning said. 'Wishing him nothing but the best, as far as success and want to see him get back to where he can be a contributor somewhere; that might be here. That might be somewhere else.'
The Ducks were ranked No. 7 in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll. The team was already thin at wide receiver with the loss of Evan Stewart, the Ducks' top returner who injured his knee in the offseason and could miss the season.
Florida State transfer Malik Benson, senior Gary Bryant Jr. and redshirt juniors Kyler Kasper and Justius Lowe are expected to help fill the void.

Herbstreit dipped further into what he got told about the departure. 'You've got to get better around him if you want us to stick around – which blows my mind that a college quarterback's dad would do that to a head coach,' Herbstreit said. 'And I think, at the end of the day, when they got into spring ball, it was still more of, you haven't brought people in to make him and this offense better.' Kirk Herbstreit doesn't believe money led to Nico Iamaleava Tennessee exit Herbstreit went on to deny that money played a central figure in the dual-threat quarterback's departure. 'I don't think it was necessarily about the money. I think it was more about, is Nico going to be able to play well enough to eventually be a first pick in the draft with the players that they had around him?' Herbstreit shared. The former Ohio State quarterback is believing Iamaleava's potential draft status, not NIL, contributed to his move out of Tennessee. He then lit into Iamaleava's father. Calling his tactic 'disgusting.' 'That's disgusting to me if that's true,' Herbstreit stated. 'I wouldn't expect Drake Maye to go to Mike Vrabel, or Drake Maye's dad to go to Mike Vrabel, in the NFL and say, hey, listen, you guys are doing a s—– job. Think about that. In the NFL, you wouldn't do that. And, a college parent is doing that?' Heupel now has a QB battle to address ahead of the season. In the recent past, Manning's own star has begun to flourish. Like his father before him, it seems as if a future in college football is already before him. And this is all before he takes a snap in high school, which wouldn't begin until next year. He would be a Class of 2030 recruit. With Marshall Manning now plying his trade in the state of Tennessee, a new question emerges: will the Tennessee football program, his father's alma mater, become the front runner in his eventual recruitment? Could Peyton Manning's son be next link in Manning quarterback legacy? The youngest Manning is now 14 years old and could eventually turn into a high-level prospect like his cousin Arch before him. That growth could continue at Baylor, which is likely why Peyton and his wife chose to allow their son to transfer. This could certainly fuel rumors that the Hall of Famer wants his son his to get more exposure in front of his alma mater in Knoxville. There's even a potential path in which father and son return to Rocky Top to try and continue the program's quest for national prominence. Many program boosters and supporters would love to have Peyton return to the school and get them back onto the path to glory. If that happens, will Marshall join him?
