‘Serve Me Tea': Audacious Order To TTE Exposes Fake Railway Officer On Bihar Train
Indian Railways, a cornerstone of public transport in India, carries millions of passengers daily. Many choose rail travel for its perceived comfort, particularly on long journeys. The organisation continually works to ensure passenger safety and seamless travel. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) work to prevent crime, while Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) monitor ticket validity. Despite these efforts, serious offences continue to occur. A recent incident on a train in Darbhanga, Bihar, surprised railway staff, from TTEs to GRP officers.
The incident unfolded on June 5, 2025 aboard the Swadhin Senani Express. A man, dressed inconspicuously, entered the H-1 coach. He introduced himself to the train conductor as Alok Kumar Jha, claiming to be the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of Samastipur, Bihar. He then settled in and ordered tea. The situation changed drastically when the train arrived at Darbhanga station.

On-duty GRP officers boarded the train and grew suspicious of the self-proclaimed ADRM. They contacted the Board Security Control Room in Samastipur to verify his identity. The truth quickly emerged, and the GRP Darbhanga and Chief Ticket Inspector In-charge (CTTI) teams promptly arrested the man.
A video of the incident has been released, shocking railway employees. It depicts the man impersonating a senior railway official. When asked for identification, he became disruptive. Under questioning by the GRP, his impersonation was revealed.
During interrogation, the man finally confessed his true identity: Durga Kant Chowdhury from Nohan Badhiam, Madhubani. When pressed by the RPF Sub-Inspector, he initially claimed to be Alok Kumar Jha, the ADRM. But the officer, firm and relentless, demanded proof and challenged his story. Cornered, the man admitted he was only the ADRM's nephew. The Sub-Inspector ordered him to leave the train, warning release would come only if the real ADRM confirmed. In that moment, the man's carefully crafted disguise shattered, caught between relief and the threat of exposure.

"They also claimed that the suspects involved in the money laundering case had tapped his phone," he said. "The suspects then promised to settle the matter and asked for money from the techie. CM flags off SBI cyber security awareness van in Raipur
Raipur: Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday flagged off the SBI cyber security awareness van from his official residence in Raipur, formally launching a state-level campaign aimed at protecting citizens from online fraud and cybercrime. Speaking at the event, Sai underlined both the benefits and risks of rapid digitisation. "Technology has made life easier and transactions faster, but cyber frauds have also increased. With a little vigilance, people can protect themselves from falling prey to such crimes," he said. CM said that the campaign will use audio-visual messages, street plays, and puppet shows to educate the public about evolving methods of cyber fraud. He revealed that 29 hotspots across Chhattisgarh have been identified where cyber fraud incidents are more frequent, and the awareness van will focus its outreach in these areas. Appealing to citizens, Sai urged them not to share confidential banking details, passwords, or OTPs with anyone and to avoid clicking on suspicious links. "Cyber criminals keep inventing new ways to cheat people. A moment of carelessness can cost hard-earned savings. Our effort is to make more and more people alert and safe," CM said. The campaign, organised by the State Bank of India (SBI), will run from Aug 15 to Nov 30, 2025. The van will travel across all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh, spreading awareness about online scams and prevention measures. SBI officials present at the launch said the initiative reflects the bank's responsibility as "the banker to every Indian." Citizens were also informed that complaints of online financial fraud can be lodged through the national helpline number 1930. The event was attended by SBI deputy general manager Rakesh Sinha, assistant general manager Deepak Kumar Sinha, and other senior officials. Protests in Jalgaon after statue desecration
Nashik: Residents of a Jalgaon village, within Pahur police station's jurisdiction, took to the streets on Aug 15 after a statue of a prominent Indian politician was found desecrated in the market area at 7.30 am on Friday. Protests were also staged by a political party in front of the Jalgaon district collector's office, demanding strict action against those involved in the desecration. Additional SP Kavita Nerkar said, acting on a tip-off, a 50-year-old man from the same village where the incident took place was arrested by the Pahur police and charged under sections 298 (injuring or defiling a place of worship), 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), and 196 (promoting enmity and hatred between different groups based on religion, race), among other sections of the BNS. Police officers said the suspect was produced before a court on Friday, which remanded him to three-day police custody. The police are investigating whether more people were involved in the act. The incident came to light at 7.30 am on Friday. Soon after the news spread, people in the village went to the police station and demanded strict action.
