Marlie Packer cleared for opening match of England's World Cup campaign
Packer's suspension rules her out of her country's final warm-up match, away to France on Saturday.
Hosts England begin the World Cup on Friday, August 22 against the United States in Sunderland.

In determining the sanction, World Rugby's foul play review committee noted Packer accepted foul play occurred but she did not agree the offence warranted a red card.
Her challenge, which did not result in injury to Harlequins player Pena, was deemed to be 'reckless'. The committee decided the offence warranted a two-match ban but opted to award full 50 per cent mitigation.
England's 15-try success at Welford Road was Packer's first match as captain since being replaced in the full-time role by Zoe Aldcroft in January.
The Saracens forward, who has 111 Test caps, led the Red Roses to back-to-back Six Nations Grand Slams in 2023 and 2024 and is one of head coach John Mitchell's vice-captains.

And just weeks before the Women's European Championship in Switzerland kicked off last month, the pair shared photos from another sunny getaway in Altea, just five miles north of Benidorm. When the Lionesses came from behind to beat Spain and take home the Euros trophy, Lucy was moved to tears as she was seen comforting Ona after the final whistle. It was a moment that echoed similar scenes following the World Cup final in 2023, when the heartbroken Lionesses lost 1-0 to Spain in Sydney, Australia. Then Ona was the one who had held Lucy as she wept into her lap while sitting in the dugouts. The pair are thought to have grown close while playing together at Barcelona. England boss appeals to World Rugby over star's eligibility England head coach Steve Borthwick is appealing to World Rugby about the eligibility of English-based South African players, according to The Telegraph. Benhard Janse van Rensburg, Hanro Liebenberg and Jacques Vermeulen are players who are blocked from being called up by England because they have represented South Africa under-20s. However, the RFU believes they should be allowed to switch allegiance. Monaghan 'proud' of Ireland's second-half showing
Ireland co-captain Sam Monaghan says she was "really proud" of her side's second-half performance in their 47-26 defeat to Canada in their final warm-up game before the Women's Rugby World Cup, Ireland recovered from conceding five first-half tries to score three of their own after the while they ultimately lost by 21 points, Monaghan was happy with their response after a tough opening half."I think our discipline let us down in the first half, but we've been put in situations in this game that we've needed to go forward so I'm really proud of our second-half performance," Monaghan told BBC Sport NI's Orla Bannon."We needed to be more physical. We didn't have much ball in the first half, so we needed to keep it. "And again, just be really clean around the ruck and keep our discipline going forward but I think we really flipped that on it's head in the second half."Head coach Scott Bemand made 10 changes from the side that fought back to beat Scotland last weekend but there was no heroic comeback this week against the number two ranked side in the Bemand starting to mould his starting team for their opening World Cup match with Japan in two weeks' time, attention now turns to Monday's squad announcement."Everyone that's been involved has gotten us to this point," Monaghan added."I wish everyone could get on the plane, but I have to say it's a squad effort and it's tough."I think we've become really connected as a group, so it makes that a lot more tough when girls aren't on the plane but hopefully, we can do them proud over there."
