Is Call of Duty Verdansk coming back? How to play Warzone's original Big Map
Call of Duty players received a brand new season of Black Ops 6 on April 2, and on April 3, they'll be able to travel back in time to 2020 to play on Warfare's original Big Map: Verdansk.
This fan-favorite map got a bit of a facelift with more details added to buildings and landscapes and better lighting in some areas.
One of the biggest changes to the gameplay is the ability to swim, which is great news since another change is that the southern combat zone has been extended out into the Kastovian Sea, making the coastline accessible.
These are just a few of the changes, and there are even more set to come later on in season 3 of BO6.
Yes, the Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Royale map that started it all is back.
According to callofduty.com, COD: Warzone's original Big Map has been rebuilt from the ground up and includes older features and original gameplay modes, plus players can earn free rewards at the massive launch event.
Verdansk went live at 9 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on Thursday, April 3.
In the callofduty.com blog post about the return of Verdansk, this version of the original Warzone Big Map is a 95 percent rebuilt version from the original from 2020, with the other 5 percent receiving some slight adjustments and improvements.
Most of the map's structures, roadways and scenery are a one-to-one duplication.
However, some structures like the fire station, police stations and the Gora Dam have all had small lifelike details added to enhance the look of the game.
Other structures have had details added to add to the gameplay, like the Verdansk Police Stations getting art and clarity adjustments, and some of the windows being openings and having more illuminating interior lighting.
Even the Grazna Bridge's water has been unfrozen along with the rest of the map unthawing, meaning you'll be able to hear your enemy's footsteps splashing through water instead of crunching on ice.
