UFC 317: Topuria vs. Oliveira watch-along live stream with MMA Junkie Radio
UFC 317 goes down Saturday night with two championship fights atop the bill, and MMA Junkie Radio's "Gorgeous" George and "Goze" will host a live-streamed watch-along right here at 8 p.m. ET.
In the headliner, the vacant 155-pound title is on the line between former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria (16-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) and ex-lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira (35-10 MMA, 23-10 UFC). Topuria vacated the 145-pound belt to move to lightweight for a shot at a title in a second division. The co-headliner is a flyweight title fight between champion Alexandre Pantoja (29-5 MMA, 13-3 UFC) and challenger Kai Kara-France (25-11 MMA, 8-4 UFC).
UFC 317 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) knocked out Charles Oliveira in Saturday's UFC 317 headliner to become new lightweight champion, Pimblett (23-3 MMA, 7-0 UFC) entered the octagon for a tense staredown that ended with Topuria pushing away "The Baddy." UFC CEO Dana White said post-fight that he didn't approve of the faceoff and would not commit to Pimblett challenging for the belt next, but Topuria was insistent that he has a score to settle with Pimblett that dates back several years to a fight week encounter in London. Pimblett expect that he will get the next shot, and he said the bad blood with Pimblett is as real as it gets, comparing it to perhaps the most infamous rivalry in MMA history between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. "You don't even need to sell that fight – it sells itself," Pimblett said on ESPN's UFC 317 post-fight show. "Two people who genuinely dislike each other. We don't really get that. We haven't seen that since Khabib and McGregor, two people who actually hate each other. Because I hate him. I wouldn't want to finish him fast, I would want to finish him with a minute left in the fight after I've elbowed him 700 times. I'd want to disfigure him." Pimblett said he thrives off tension with an opponent, and thinks not only that heat with Topuria would bring out the best of him, but also the fact he would likely enter the octagon as a significant betting underdog. "I'm more motivated when I'm like that, especially the fact that everyone thinks I'll lose," Pimblett said. "Everyone thinks I'll lose. Nine out of 10 people probably think he'll knock me out. I love proving people wrong. It just gives me this warm, fuzzy feeling inside making people eat their own words. "I cannot wait. I can't be booked with anyone else now. It's a simple as that. I am fighting him next and I am going to take his little head off for him."

Former LSU basketball star Naz Reid signs massive extension with Minnesota Timberwolves
A former LSU basketball star cashed in last week. According to ESPN, Timberwolves power forward and center Naz Reid is signing a five-year, $125 million extension. The deal won't officially be signed until July 6, but the sides have an agreement. The contract includes a player option for the 2029-30 season. Reid was one and done at LSU but was a member of the Tigers' Sweet 16 squad under head coach Will Wade in 2019. Reid just finished his sixth year in the NBA. In 406 career games, Reid averages 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. In 2024, Reid was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. In 2024-25, Reid averaged a career-high 14.2 points and six rebounds per game. Reid provides much of his scoring value from behind the three-point line. He's averaged 2.1 three-point field goals per game since 2023. It's tough to defend a scorer with Reid's size who can shoot it from deep and threaten in the paint.

Ilia Topuria wants Paddy Pimblett for first UFC lightweight title defense
Ilia Topuria sets his sight on long-time enemy Paddy Pimblett. LAS VEGAS – Ilia Topuria wants his first title defense of the UFC lightweight belt to feel much different than when he first claimed it. Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) won the vacant UFC lightweight belt this past Saturday, viciously knocking out former champion Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 317, which took place at T-Mobile Arena. Despite the brutal nature of the finish, Topuria didn't exactly want to fight Oliveira (35-11 MMA, 23-11 UFC), which is why he aims for his next fight to be against Paddy Pimblett. "Yes, that's the fight that I want because with Charles it was a little bit of a difficult situation because I really like the guy," Topuria said at the UFC 317 post-fight press conference. "He's a really great human being. You can't hate him. You always see him surrounded by his family and friends and teammates. He's an amazing human being, but in the end, I was like, 'This is competition. I have to do my job and that's it.' But with Paddy, I'm really going to enjoy kicking his ass." Topuria and Pimblett have had a long-standing beef. Topuria, of Georgian descent, took personally some comments Pimblett made online, making fun of Georgians for losing the Russo-Georgian war. Although Pimblett later apologized for the comments, the feud with Topuria continued. "La Leyenda" is on one of the best runs ever seen in MMA. He's coming off back-to-back knockout wins over Oliveira, Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski – all in championship fights. Topuria is well aware of the type of legacy he's building. "It's amazing, and it's difficult to put into words," Topuria said. "Beating guys like Volk, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, not any people in the world can say that." As far as a timeline for his return, Topuria is down to fight one more time this 2025. "I could be ready by the need of the year if they want me," Topuria said. "If I get the call from the UFC, and they want me to get back in the octagon by the end of the year, I'll be ready."
