Lomanto joined Gucci in 2022 from Roger Vivier, where she was chief executive officer of the Paris-based luxury brand.
When she went to Gucci, Lomanto brought extensive experience in fashion and luxury as she began her career at Jil Sander, before joining Yves Saint Laurent in the wholesale department. She then moved to the Prada Group, where she held several leadership roles, including leather goods merchandising and marketing director for Prada, retail director for Prada France, worldwide retail director, and ultimately general manager of Miu Miu.
At the same time, Marcello Costa will be promoted to chief merchandising officer, reporting to Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino.
Costa joined Gucci in February, bringing more than two decades of industry experience from leading fashion houses including Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu and Stella McCartney.
In addition to appointing Demna as the successor of Sabato De Sarno, who exited the brand in February, other key changes under Cantino's watch have included the arrival of Valérie Leberichel from Givenchy as senior vice president of global communications at Gucci; Francesco Falai, named chief people officer from his role as Gucci's senior vice president of global people retail and business; Marcello Mastrogiacomo from Armani Beauty Global as VP of digital marketing and media, a new role; Daniela Raganato from Valentino as global media director, and Davide Buzzoni, who joined Gucci from Loro Piana as global communications director. Last month, Christophe Marque joined the Italian luxury brand from DFS Group, a subsidiary of LVMH Möet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, as president and CEO of Gucci Americas reporting to Fabry. Marque succeeded Federico Turconi, who exited Gucci last October to take on the role of CEO of the SA Hospitality Group.
After showing its cruise collection in Florence last week, designed by a team, Demna is to make his first fashion statement at Gucci this fall. The creative director of Balenciaga since 2015, he is to officially take up the reins at the Italian megabrand after staging his swan song at Balenciaga, a couture collection, on July 9. Demna will be succeeded by former Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. Hopes are pinned on Demna to reverse declining revenues at Gucci, which fell 25 percent in the first quarter of 2025, dragged down by low traffic and anemic demand for carryover styles.

Newcastle ready to strike mega Liverpool Alexander Isak agreement
Newcastle are ready to agree to a mega sale of Alexander Isak according to one report but it all depends on one condition. Things have reached a boiling point between the two parties. Both Newcastle and Isak released statements of their own on Tuesday night in which they contradict each other. 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the away range TODAY LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! Isak claims he had an agreement with Newcastle which they didn't adhere to. Newcastle claim there was no agreement of any kind in place. It's a bit of he said, she said at the moment. We probably will never find out the truth. But while Newcastle remain open to paving a way back for Isak into the first team, the Swede remains adamant he wants a change and made that clear in his statement. Ultimately, who will prevail remains to be seen. One thing is certain, even in Newcastle's statement, a departure from the club has not been ruled out. Newcastle claimed that certain 'conditions' had to be met, without alluding to what this is in order for Isak to be sold. These haven't been met so far but they could be soon. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range According to Keith Downie, a reporter for Sky Sports, speaking on the Good Morning Transfers show, Newcastle could be ready to agree a mega transfer for Isak. "I think if they were to land [Yoane] Wissa in the next few days and I'm expecting Newcastle to come in with a higher bid to Brentford. If they were to land Wissa, and Liverpool came to the table and offered a £130m or a £135m would be my reading into the situation then I think Newcastle might have a little decision to make," Downie said. So it feels like there is a deal to be had. Officially, Newcastle's asking price may be £150m but behind the scenes if Downie is to be believed they are ready to do a deal at a lower price. Let's not get it twisted. £150m is still a lot of money to pay for one player. It's a mega deal at the end of the day. It will shatter the British transfer record. But Liverpool have wanted to sign Isak for ages. He's been their man from the beginning of the summer. If they really want him, why not pay the £25m extra from your initial £110m bid in order to get the transfer over the line? Obviously, the condition is that Newcastle need to sign Wissa first. At this moment in time that hasn't happened yet. If it does, the doors will swing ajar for Liverpool to strike an agreement. The situation is still murky and it's hard to predict how this one ends. But Newcastle haven't completely ruled out the possibility of Isak leaving. On the other hand, the Swede has made it very clear he doesn't want to play for the Magpies again. At this point surely Newcastle are better off selling Isak and moving on from this situation.

Roamly introduces AI-powered Carshare insurance platform
Insurtech company Roamly has launched its AI-powered Carshare insurance platform targeting shared vehicle and mobility sectors. The platform's introduction follows the company's recent accreditation as a Lloyd's of London Coverholder. Roamly Carshare is engineered to work with stakeholders including marketplaces, fleet operators, mobility services and transportation networks. Utilising a blend of machine learning, telematics and AI technologies, the platform aims to refine the insurance underwriting process, expedite claims automation and provide tailored risk management solutions. The platform is designed with an API (application programming interface)-first no code approach, allowing for integration of insurance services within the existing booking, checkout and fleet management processes. It can be integrated into a fleet rental management software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool. This allows for direct customer bookings through operators' own branded websites and the ability to manage fleets across multiple locations. Currently, the Carshare platform insures 7,000 vehicles, with plans to expand to more than 12,000 units by 2025, supporting both carsharing and ridesharing scenarios. A key feature of the Carshare platform is its integration with Wheelbase, Roamly's fleet management SaaS system, which facilitates direct booking. This feature enables operators to directly engage with customers while also providing the option to list on third-party marketplaces. The insurance coverage extends to periods when vehicles are parked, used for personal purposes, or operated on rideshare platforms such as Uber and Lyft. Roamly CEO Jeff Cavins said: "With our AI-powered Carshare solution, we are breaking down that barrier – offering scalable, affordable and fully embedded insurance coverage that helps operators grow with confidence and protects consumers who participate in the marketplace economy. "The Carshare product has been strong coming off launch, and will generate more than $12m in premium by the end of the year.' Switzerland moves to strengthen its competitiveness after US tariffs
ZURICH (Reuters) -Switzerland is intensifying efforts to strengthen its attractiveness as a business location, its government said on Wednesday, after being hit with some of the highest U.S. tariffs worldwide. Efforts will focus on regulatory relief for Swiss companies, and new rules incurring high costs for businesses could be pushed back, the government said in a statement. U.S. President Donald Trump this month imposed U.S. import tariffs of 39% on Swiss goods, though pharmaceuticals and some other sectors have so far been spared the duties. "(The government) wants to decisively press ahead with its economic policy agenda and is focusing on reducing the regulatory burden on companies," the government said. Geographical diversification and Swiss companies' access to alternative international markets should also be strengthened, the statement said. The new U.S. levies currently affect around 10% of Swiss goods exports, and could have potentially severe consequences for some companies, the government said. Switzerland does not anticipate a recession akin to the global financial crisis or the pandemic, it added.
