Baltimore weather: Mild Easter Sunday kicks off a warm, breezy week
The week ahead could feel like summer as temperatures are expected to be mild in the Baltimore metro area.
Easter Sunday's forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions with a high near 73. Clouds will hang around most of the evening, and the low should be around 54 along with calm overnight winds.

The workweek begins with mostly cloudy conditions Monday along with a high of 69. There is a 50% chance of showers Monday night with a low around 60.
There is another chance of rain Tuesday before 2 p.m. Otherwise, it is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 81. The evening low could be around 53.
Wednesday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 74. Wednesday evening could be partly cloudy with a low around 53.

Canadian wildfire smoke may bring ‘red haze' to Baltimore on Tuesday
If Tuesday's sunrise looks a little strange or even prettier than usual, it's not your eyes deceiving you, but rather smoke in the upper levels of the atmosphere over Maryland. Dozens of wildfires are burning in Canada, leading to the evacuation of thousands of Canadians in three provinces and spreading masses of thick smoke to places in the U.S., from the Midwest to the Carolinas. Baltimore will see some hazy skies related to the smoke on Tuesday, said Gerard Jebaily, the chief meteorologist for FOX45 News. 'We're expected to see some fairly dense smoke move overhead throughout tomorrow through most of the day, if not the entire day,' Jebaily said on Monday. While the smoke will be visible, particularly at sunrise and sunset, residents probably will not be able to smell it, nor will it impact the region's air quality, he said. 'The majority of [the smoke] is going to be in the upper levels, so it won't make it to the ground, so we may not have any visibility problems,' Jebaily said. Maryland saw the influx of wildfire smoke from Canada in the summers of 2023 and 2024, to a lesser extent. In June 2023, air quality was 'very unhealthy' at times, but Tuesday is unlikely to be a repeat. Jebaily noted that temperatures could be affected because the smoke may filter out some sunshine. 'It will look very hazy and the sun may have an eerie, red haze to it as it peeks through,' he said. Residents can expect the sun to look orange or reddish for most of Tuesday. 'The Wire' actor Tray Chaney said his son is in the hospital after being thrown by a tornado in Georgia. Chaney, who played Malik 'Poot' Carr on the HBO show set in Baltimore, posted about his son in a video on social media, with his destroyed home in the background. 'I lost my house,' Chaney said. 'I lost everything in it.' He said his son, Malachi Chaney, who turned 19 on Sunday, was thrown over 300 feet by the tornado Thursday and is fighting for his life in an intensive care unit. An update Sunday said Malachi is still in the hospital and 'making process.' Tearful with a hospital wristband on, Tray Chaney said he and his son had had a 'beautiful day' Thursday that included a 'big-ticket show' and meeting up with Felicia Pearson, who played a fictionalized version of herself, nicknamed 'Snoop,' in 'The Wire.' Tray Chaney recalled sitting on his bed in his home in Locust Grove, Atlanta, around 3 p.m. when he heard wind — moments prior to his house being destroyed. Chaney said he had to crawl through the remains of his home to find his phone. 'Cherish life as much as you can,' Chaney said on social media.
