DUE to celebrate 75 years on air in January, The Archers is widely believed to be based on a tiny village in the middle of the English countryside.
Inkberrow in Worcestershire is thought to be the inspiration behind the fictional village of Ambridge, from the world's longest running soap opera.

In particular, the pub - with the real village's pub called The Old Bull.
Godfrey Baseley - the creator and editor of The Archers - used to live locally, according to the landlord at The Old Bull.
Inside, the pub boasts a lot of memorabilia from the BBC Radio 4 programme, including signed pictures of the cast and scripts.
The pub itself is a 16th Century inn and serves up traditional English pub grub.
The interior features exposed wood beams, snug fireplaces and a traditional cosy feel too.
It is also said to have once been a stop-off point for William Shakespeare when he was travelling to Worcester to collect his marriage licence to Anne Hathaway.
Nearby is also the Inkberrow Millennium Green, just past the 13th century St Peter's Church with a medieval moat.
Elsewhere in the village is another pub called The Bull's Head, along with a shop, a primary school and a village hall.
Meanwhile, in the fields surrounding the village, visitors will find the Inkberrow tower, which was built in 1996.
However, it is no historic watch tower or countryside chapel - instead it is a phone base station for the mobile network, Orange.

Around a 15-minute drive from Inkberrow, you can find Hanbury Hall - another spot believed to be used in some of the Archers' 20,000 episodes.
The National Trust-owned property is believed to be the inspiration for Lower Loxley Hall from the show, which is the stately home of characters Nigel and Elizabeth Paragetter.
The real Hanbury Hall features 19th-century gardens and large wall paintings from artist James Thornhill.
Close to the hall is the church of St Mary the Virgin, which is believed to be the basis of St Stephen's church in Ambridge.
Recordings of the church bells have been used in many Archers episodes.
At the edge of the village is Morton Hall Gardens, which features a range of plants and an expansive meadow.

ANOTHER English village is the inspiration behind the hit series Emmerdale.
Esholt, a quaint English village near Bradford, was the original filming location for the popular soap opera Emmerdale from the 1970s to the 1990s.
The village still attracts fans who want to see the real-life inspirations behind the show, even though the production moved years ago.
The local pub, originally called The Commercial, was permanently renamed The Woolpack because the owner grew tired of constantly changing the sign for filming.
Other real locations included Home Farm, a centuries-old estate, and a row of cottages on Bunkers Hill that served as Demdyke Row.
The show's departure was prompted by its increasing popularity, as noise from crowds of tourists made filming difficult.
In 1997, the crew built a replica of the village on the Harewood Estate, which they still use today.
Although Esholt is a quiet village, it is a short drive from the cities of Leeds and Bradford.
It is also near Shipley, a UNESCO World Heritage site with historic mills and a scenic cable tramway.

Think postcard-perfect beaches, a backdrop of red-ochre cliffs and five-star facilities that make you feel like A-listers. Our trip coincided with Pine Cliffs' annual Summer Gala, the resort's most glamorous event of the year. And it truly delivered on every front. The evening began with a glitzy cocktail reception on the manicured green of the driving range, as the golden Algarve sun dipped behind the cliffs. A saxophonist filled the air with smooth jazz while guests mingled over glasses of fizz. To top the night off, when Ronan finished his last song, fireworks burst into the summer sky, lighting it up. We couldn't have asked for a more magical night. But the gala was just the cherry on top of what turned out to be one of the most relaxing getaways we've ever had. The resort also seems as able to cater for family fun as it can for couples on romantic getaways. While I happily spent hours lounging on Falesia beach, sunbathing with a book, my partner Jonah threw himself into the water sports. He loved paddle-boarding along the clear, calm shoreline. I won't lie — it was more wobbly than graceful, but he laughed the whole way through. The resort also offers kayaking, jet skis and couch/banana boat rides. For those in search of next-level pampering, the Serenity Spa at Pine Cliffs is unmissable. I indulged in the 80-minute Senses Of The Algarve body scrub, a heavenly experience blending local carob and soothing oils. The therapists here are miracle workers, and I floated out of the spa feeling like I'd left all my stress on the massage table. While the resort has various accommodation options, including villas and apartments, we were staying in the main hotel. Our room was spacious and beautifully presented, with a luxurious, oversized bathroom that felt like a private spa. But the highlight? The Wagyu steak at the Piri Piri Steak House was hands down the best we've ever tasted. Melt-in-the-mouth perfection. Pristine golf course Our waiter Paolo was so knowledgeable and made the entire meal an experience. The resort has 15 top-tier restaurants and bars, from the elegant O Pescador, serving seafood with ocean views, to Zest, where we grabbed healthy poke bowls and salads for lunch. And for a romantic lunch, Maré at Pine Cliffs Beach Club offered the perfect seaside setting with fresh grilled fish and chilled vinho verde. Jonah, an avid golfer, was in his element on Pine Cliffs' spectacular nine-hole golf course, perched on the cliff edge with jaw-dropping views over the Atlantic. He played twice during our stay and raved about the challenging layout and pristine condition. We also both enjoyed a one-hour padel-tennis lesson with ace coach Joao. Burning off some of the incredible meals, while having such fun, was great. We're now completely hooked on the sport. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and the service was impeccable There are also tennis courts, a gym with spectacular sea views, and even a kids' club if you're travelling as a family. The resort's eight swimming pools are another highlight. From an adults-only oasis in the Serenity spa to a large family lagoon-style option, there is a pool to suit every taste. We particularly enjoyed the one by Corda Café at the heart of the resort — perhaps due to its swim-up cocktail bar! Pine Cliffs manages to blend luxury with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and the service was impeccable. Whether you're after a romantic escape, an active break, or a place to unwind in set in stunning natural surroundings, Pine Cliffs ticks every box — and then some. The site was established as one of the UK's first residential recording studios in 1974. Since opening, the Cornish studio has hosted an array of iconic artists. Among the iconic albums to be recorded on the site, are Supergrass's "I Should Coco" and "In It For The Money" and The Verve's "A Storm in Heaven." Legendary rock band Muse also created "Showbiz" and "Origin of Symmetry" in the studio. In the wake of Oasis's UK reunion tour, the property is now up for sale with Stags estate agents for an eye-watering £1,950,000. After a 16 year hiatus, the band have come back together to play a total of 41 shows. With the tour well underway, the gig is currently the hottest ticket, as the band has proven its legendary impact on the music industry. The Sun also reported earlier this month, that more dates could be on the cards for the brothers. According to a Sun source, they have been offered four huge shows at Knebworth House next year - to mark the 30th anniversary of their two historic concerts there in 1996.
