This Morning viewers fume show has 'lost the plot' as TikTok witches take over

Daily Mirror5 days ago
This Morning viewers felt that they had to "switch off" during Thursday's show when Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard chatted to three witches who made them cast a series of spells on air.
This Morning viewers felt compelled to "switch off" during Thursday's show during a segment with witches from TikTok.

Less than an hour into ITV's flagship magazine show, things took a spooky turn when hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley introduced social media stars Katy White, and mum-and-daughter duo Emma Griffin and Holly Kenyon to the sofa, who claimed that "anyone can be a witch" and that they had all had their "calling" to the magical practice. All three women have found success on social media and notched up thousands of followers, and wasted no time in showing the hosts some magic.

First of all, Ben and Cat were told to chant "I refresh, I reset, I rise and I am back in my body now," as they held a crystal to their chest before sea witch Holly set about using water from a cauldron to "let go" of stress and then Emma taught them how to "manifest" any sort of wish into reality by "calling into the universe" via a written message.

Ben asked for West Ham to win the Premier League, whilst Cat simply asked for her children to do what she asked them for the first time and they were instructed to chant "I am ready to receive the joy I deserve, everything I desire is already making its way to me, I am worthy of abundance, so it is done."
But the bizarre item was too much for some viewers to take, and they flooded social media with comments and blasted the ITV Daytime for running out of ideas, with one X user writing: "Totally lost the plot. Lack of content?", as another fumed: "This is so ridiculous and mind numbing, had to switch off, absolutely pathetic!"

A third user complained that they didn't understand what they were watching, and finished their scathing post by describing the segment "as load of bo*****s."
In the world of social media, the witches have made a name for themselves, and Emma has even been described real-life Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series. But Emma, didn't discover her mum was a witch until she was 17, when she rushed home in tears after visiting a psychic fair with her now husband Steve, when they were art students.
A tarot reader had told her that she and Steve, also 17 and now a graphic designer, would never have children. Determined to help, her mum confessed she was actually a sorceress and would teach Emma the skills to prove the reader wrong. And in 1999, she and Steve had their daughter Holly, followed by their son, Harry, three years later.

Soon after, moving from the London area to Cornwall, to be closer to nature, alongside jobs ranging from fashion designer to illustrator, interior designer and photographer, Emma gave her clients spiritual guidance.Going public about her magical talents when her parents died, she became a full-time witch - going on to initiate Holly, a nursery manager, as a sea witch in 2021 - making her the third generation of witches in her family.
'When I tell people I'm a witch, the majority are fascinated and love hearing about what I do, the transformative stories I can tell, from helping people find their own happiness, to healing them, even helping them conceive like I did 25 years ago,' Emma recalled. "
Recalling her mass witch initiation Zoom session, which included women from as far away as Finland and Australia, she said at the time: 'Over that hour, I guided them through the ceremony, helping them all become witches, telling them to spread the word far and wide."

The Repair Shop guest breaks down in tears over item 'this is all I've got of my dad'

The Repair Shop guest Emma was left in floods of tears as she was reunited with a puppet that her father had given her before he died A guest on The Repair Shop was left in tears after being reunited with the final gift her late father ever presented to her. ‌ During the opening of the BBC One programme, which featured its Favourite Fixes, the specialists discovered that visitor Emma had brought along a puppet her dad had given her back in the 1970s when she was merely eight-years-old. ‌ Emma revealed about the toy, which she named Billy Willy: "He was a present from my dad. My dad got cancer so my nan thought it would be good for him to go to Scotland to a health farm. He was gone probably a couple of months, which is a long time when you're eight. ‌ "I remember he phoned us and said what did we want as a present when he came back. In the 70s, puppets were all the rage! I just asked for a puppet and I got Billy Willy!". "I was absolutely thrilled with him. It was the last thing that my dad gave me because he died soon after. We don't have many photographs of dad so this is all I've got of my dad. I've got nothing else. ‌ "That's why he's so special. I don't think I ever really went anywhere without him!", reports Edinburgh Live. Emma confessed that her children "absolutely hate" the puppet because they find it frightening due to the crack across its face and damaged leg, which explained why it needed restoration at the workshop. The visitor continued: "I think he'd be over the moon to know that Billy Willy was getting a second chance. And hopefully, you know, grandchildren that he'll never see will get to play with him." ‌ In a heartfelt VT, she added: "It's difficult to understand what happens when you lose a parent and you take it with you all through your life. It's always there!". Later on, an emotional scene unfolded as Emma was tearfully reunited with her cherished Billy Willy, having been restored to his former glory. Emma, who confessed to never having been separated from him before, expressed her excitement about the reveal. Overwhelmed with emotion upon the return of Billy Willy, Emma burst into tears, exclaiming: "Oh my God! That's amazing! He looks like when he was new! Oh my God, you [the experts] are amazing! He's still the same, oh it's lush, that is so good! He's brilliant, thank you!". Reflecting further in a video message, she said: "I think it would mean so much to my dad, maybe when dad bought this for me, he knew that I needed something that was going to make me smile. It definitely makes me smile and cry." The Repair Shop is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Charity overwhelmed in Emmerdale surrogacy story as she makes revelation to Mack

A difficult road (Picture: ITV) Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) offered to be Sarah Sugden's (Katie Hill) surrogate when she thought there were no other options, but that selfless offer may be coming back to bite her in Emmerdale. When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) originally dropped the idea of surrogacy in Sarah's lap Charity was livid – that he would get her hopes up with something that was never going to be viable. Dr Liam (Jonny McPherson) confirmed as much when he told Cain that no agency would touch her with a barge pole given her life expectancy, among other things. Cain then got himself scammed by an agency who took his money and ran, leaving everyone desperate, distraught, and back to square one. So, Charity stepped up. Charity failed to tell Mack about the plan (Picture: ITV) Cain feared it wouldn't work (Picture: ITV) She chose not to share this monumental decision with husband Mack (Lawrence Robb), however, and instead he found out from busybody Pollard (Chris Chittell), and when he learned that his wife planned to carry her great grandchild, he had a few things to say about it. But as things stand, it's full steam ahead with Sarah giddy with excitement over this new plan. She and Charity get prepared for their hospital visit while Mack busies himself with work to try and forget. When he bumps into best pal Aaron (Danny Miller) and confesses he won't be going to the hospital, Aaron tries to get him to have a rethink. Before he can, Charity reveals something of her own – Sarah and Jacob's attentiveness has left her feeling completely overwhelmed, and it's only a sign of things to come. When she gets Mack alone, she confesses her true feelings, and it's a great opportunity for him to do the same. But will he?
