Glasgow Times3 days ago
Several locals have taken to social media to ask if they are hearing right - with the location of the festival miles away.
The festival takes place in the Glasgow Green which sits on the edge of the city centre and into the Calton and Dalmarnock in the East End.

Headliner Biffy Clyro closed Saturday's proceedings, but their performance could be felt across the city, especially in the Southside and South West.
One local told the Glasgow Times: "I live near Hampden Park and the concerts there have been nothing compared to Biffy."
Another posted on Facebook: "Is that loud music I can hear in Mosspark? TRNSMT?"
Another in the same area agreed: "I'm sure I can hear it. I was putting the bin out and heard it."
In Craigton, a local asked: "Can anyone else hear music outside? I take it we are hearing TRNSMT Festival from Glasgow Green?"
One local answered: "Yeah, I think it is."
One local took to X to declare: "Right sitting oot in the back in the trendy area called Cardonald and I can hear TRNSMT. That's like five or six miles away."
Another added: "And the peace in my garden is shattered again by the music of TRNSMT several miles away. I want to hear the birds on my day off."
A third said: "Why can I hear TRNSMT from my house?"

Cinema go-ers couldn't see new Superman movie after collapse of ceiling tiles

Around 100 people couldn't get in to see the film at East Kilbride's Odeon, but the response of staff was praised. East Kilbride cinema go-ers felt like they'd been hit by a lump of Kryptonite when they tried to see the new Superman film on Friday night. ‌ Fans of the DC superhero turned up at the Odeon cinema for the 7.30pm screening, only to find there were huge queues waiting outside screen one. ‌ The large queue, of around 100 people, were told that ceiling tiles had collapsed before the film was due to begin. ‌ Odeon staff were unable to reach other tiles which had been left dangling, and told the frustrated Man of Steel devotees that one tile was attached to a fire alarm. Many of the crowd tried to book in for the 10.30pm screening, which was also due to be shown on screen one, but this was moved to another hall, starting 15 minutes later. One fan said: 'I've been a huge fan of Superman since I first saw the Christopher Reeve film, and was so excited to see what David Corenswet would be like in the role. 'So it was hugely disappointing that I wasn't able to see him, but of course, safety comes first. ‌ 'The cinema staff were fantastic, and went around offering free popcorn as a consolation, with ticket refunds or swaps for a later screening, for those who still wanted to go. 'It was still quite busy later on, but I certainly hadn't been planning to still be watching Superman on the big screen after 1am!' A spokesperson for Odeon said: 'We were unable to go ahead with a screening on Friday due to an issue with our ceiling. The safety of colleagues and guests is our main priority so we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused but thank our colleagues who were on-hand to assist guests, providing free popcorn and ticket swaps for later dates.' Kneecap announce new tour dates for group's ‘biggest run of shows ever'

The move comes after Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the stage name Mo Chara, was charged in May with a terrorism offence relating to displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London, during a gig in November 2024. The group said their actions, including holding the Hezbollah flag, had been taken out of context. Announcing the news on Tuesday, the group – which is made up of O hAnnaidh, Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh – shared a post on Instagram with the caption that read: 'Here we go. 'We're back in November across Scotland, England and Wales to play our biggest run of shows ever. 'All of ye can get a pre-sale link for tomorrow at 10am ahead of the masses by signing up to our mailer or WhatsApp channel. 'The Prime Minster himself cant stop us…he could stop sending bombs to Israel but that's another story…' The group are known for speaking out against the war in Gaza, and recently performed to a sea of Palestinian flags during their set at Glastonbury Festival in June. They claim the controversies surrounding the group are part of a smear campaign against them because of their vocal support for Palestine and criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza, which they say is a genocide. The group recently performed at Glasgow's O2 Academy, in a gig which sold out in 80 seconds. They were due to perform at TRNSMT festival in Glasgow, but their set was axed after concerns raised by police. Their tour will start in Bournemouth on November 14 before moving on to Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow. Kneecap will also perform in London at the previously announced show at OVO Arena Wembley on September 18.
