Proposed Bonalu at Bhadrakali temple in Warangal deferred
The decision follows objections from a section of the public and the dissemination of 'fake news' regarding the matter in various media outlets. The Minister revealed that the Bonalu organisation was being temporarily deferred due to suspicions that some individuals would intentionally create problems by linking current local political differences with the holy goddess, potentially inciting anti social forces and creating conflicts during the programme.
Meanwhile, she reiterated that the local Executive Officer (EO), Vedic scholars, and the government had repeatedly affirmed that only vegetarian 'bonas' (offerings) would be held within the limits of the Bhadrakali Ammavari Temple. She stated that, according to Agama Shastra and the decision of Vedic scholars, they believed the event should be held in the Bhadrakali Temple. However, she noted that 'wrong signals' were sent to the public when some individuals claimed that Bonams were being held with non vegetarian food. She condemned attempts to fill the minds of devotees with 'wrong feelings for the sake of politics.'
Minister Surekha issued a statement to the media to this effect on Friday. She explained that the decision was made to temporarily cancel the Bonalu planned for the Bhadrakali Ammavari Temple on June 22. The Minister stressed that the government's primary objective was to preserve pure devotion towards the Goddess and uphold sacred traditions.

Lucknow: Highlighting the changes in the state's law and order machinery since 2017, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that under the previous govts, it used to take years to catch criminals, but now they are apprehended within 24-48 hours. The CM added that a cyber headquarters would be set up in the state and efforts were being made to strengthen and empower UP Police. "To ensure proper and quick resolution of cases, it has been made mandatory to collect forensic evidence in every crime in the state since 2017," he said. I want that Ghazipur district's name should be changed," Singh said. The 41-year-old legislator further said that renaming the district would inspire future generations. Devotees throng temples across India to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami

At the ISKCON temple in Delhi's East of Kailash, large crowds gathered to witness the festivities. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also visited the ISKCON Temple and offered prayers on the occasion. Prayers were also performed at the ISKCON Temple in Dwarka. Renowned classical dancer Yasmin Singh and her group presented a devotional dance performance at the ISKCON Temple in Dwarka. Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "I have come from Madhya Pradesh, and my fellow dancers are from different parts of the country. We performed a dance on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. In Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan performed at the Gorakhnath Temple, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined the celebrations. At the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura, an idol of Bal Krishna was bathed in milk to mark his birth anniversary as hundreds of devotees gathered to witness the rituals. UP CM Yogi also offered prayers at the temple on Saturday. Similar scenes of devotion were reported from temples in Moradabad and Noida, where special midnight abhishek rituals with milk, yoghurt, honey, ghee, and water were performed, accompanied by the ringing of bells, blowing of conch shells, and chanting of Vedic hymns. At temples in Noida, Jammu, Mumbai, Pune, and other cities, special prayers were performed on the occasion. A large number of devotees gathered at midnight prayers to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna at the ISKCON Temple in West Bengal's Kolkata. Similarly, devotees performed rituals to the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha during the Janmashtami at ISKCON temple in Guwahati. Similarly, in Manipur's Imphal, devotees thronged the Shree Shree Govindajee Temple to offer prayers and participate in cultural programmes marking the birth of Lord Krishna. Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapad, is celebrated with special fervour in Mathura, his birthplace, and in Vrindavan, where he spent his childhood. Across India and beyond, the festival was observed with devotion, joy, and vibrant traditions.
