Winning NASCAR driver taken away in ambulance after severe injury during celebration
The 19-year-old was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after the freak accident at Watkins Glen.
Zilisch was released from the hospital Saturday evening.
'Thank you everybody for reaching out today. I'm out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone,' Zilisch wrote in a post on X late Saturday. 'Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn't any worse.'
The nasty fall was captured on video as the cameras were filming Zilisch's celebration.
The driver was enjoying his win and put his right foot on the roof of his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, with his left foot on the window. He appeared to lose his balance and his left foot got caught inside the car.
He twisted and fell hard to the floor head-first, where he did not immediately move.
Medical teams arrived immediately to tend to him and transported him on a backboard to the trackside medical center, NASCAR said.
'Connor Zilisch has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation following today's Xfinity Series race. He is awake and alert,' NASCAR said.
A couple of hours later, JR Motorsports confirmed he had been released from the hospital.
'Wishing @ConnorZilisch nothing but a safe and speedy recovery,' Xfinity Racing said in a post on X.
The teenager led 60 laps out of 82 to clinch the victory in Saturday's race.

The last time the BMW was held at Caves Valley, in 2021, McIlroy finished fourth on 22 under par - eight shots ahead of Scheffler, who could only manage a share of 22nd. Scheffler is a much better player now, of course. He is undoubtedly the best golfer on the planet, but he is not usually at his best in birdie bonanzas. So Rory gets the nod in the battle for the Big Two. BMW Championship 2025 betting tips Patrick Cantlay won that 2021 BMW, but he was a lot more consistent back then. At the moment, whenever he looks like recapturing the form that took him to third in the world rankings, he throws in a missed cut. That can't happen this week, as all 49 starters - Sepp Straka is missing because of a family problem - are guaranteed four rounds. At around 25-1, it could be worth taking a chance on Cantlay making course knowledge count, especially after he posted a top ten finish at the St Jude - his first since May. Sungjae Im also played well here four years ago to finish a place in front of McIlroy. He needs a good week to hold onto a top 30 spot and make it through to the Tour Championship. At 66-1, he represents decent each way value. Sam Burns, who was eighth here in 2021, is in the same boat as Im, at 24th in the current FedEx rankings, one place above the Korean. A best-priced 40-1 also appeals each way. Rickie Fowler 's form has taken an upturn, and he is also 66-1 in places, while Si Woo Kim shot four rounds in the 60s at the St Jude. He deserves a second look at around 70-1. ********************************************************** LIV Golf Indianapolis 2025 betting tips The LIV circuit moves on to Indianapolis for the second leg of a three week run in the States. Dean Burmester did the business for us in Chicago at 33-1. He has only been cut to 25-1 for that victory, and it could be worth re-investing some of last week's returns. Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm are the only players who can win the season-long LIV individual title, with defending champion Rahm the bookies favourite this week at around 4-1. Too short for me, despite the Spaniard's incredible consistency, which included a play-off defeat to Burmester in Chicago. The third player involved in that shoot-out, Jose Luis Ballester, will be buzzing after doing something noteworthy other than taking a leak in Rae's Creek - something the young Spaniard notoriously did at this year's Masters. Ballester was regarded as one of the most exciting amateur talents to emerge for years before joining LIV a few months ago. At 50-1, and higher, it is worth seeing if that performance last week was more than an early flash in the pan. Daimler, Volvo, other truckmakers sue California to block emissions rules
Aug 12 (Reuters) - Four major truckmakers, including Daimler ( opens new tab and Volvo, sued California to block the state from enforcing strict emissions standards that U.S. President Donald Trump declared void in June. Daimler, Volvo, Paccar (PCAR.O), opens new tab, and International Motors ( opens new tab, formerly Navistar, said they have been "caught in the crossfire" after Trump reversed waivers issued during the Biden administration that let California set its own standards. In a complaint filed on Monday, the truckmakers said Trump's rescinding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval of California's plan to boost zero-emission heavy-duty truck sales and reduce nitrogen oxide emissions preempted the state's enforcement. They said this included enforcing the Clean Truck Partnership, a 2023 program giving the truckmaking industry flexibility to meet emissions requirements while advancing California's goal of lowering emissions. The truckmakers said the regulatory uncertainty has caused irreparable harm because they cannot plan production in advance without knowing which vehicles they will be permitted to sell. Monday's complaint names the California Air Resources Board and Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom as defendants, and was filed in the federal court in Sacramento, the state's capital. Newsom's office and the board did not immediately respond on Tuesday to requests for comment. Trump's action was part of the Republicans' effort to curb California's power under the federal Clean Air Act to set tighter pollution limits than federal law requires, and Newsom's desire to promote electric vehicles as he fights climate change. California has received more than 100 waivers under the Clean Air Act since 1970. During his June signing of joint congressional resolutions, Trump also blocked California's effort to end sales of gasoline-only vehicles by 2035. The state is also suing to undo Trump's actions. Notts County fan to be discharged from hospital
Notts County have confirmed a supporter who was taken ill before their League Two fixture at Newport County is set to be discharged from Parade was evacuated to allow two air ambulances to land on the pitch after Stephen Silver suffered a medical emergency before the match on 2 days later, the club wrote on social media that Silver "remained in a serious condition but was responding well to treatment".A follow-up statement on Tuesday, external said: "We're delighted to report that Stephen Silver will be discharged from hospital this afternoon."
