College Football 26 trailer song will have you running through a brick wall
College football fans won't have to wait until the end of August to get their fix as EA Sports announced the release date for their mega popular College Football 26 game. The video game, which made its triumphant return last year after an 11-year absence that left fans wishing for its return, will drop July 10 with pre-orders available now.
The trailer released on Thursday showed the pageantry and uniqueness that makes college football special, with Virginia Tech's "Enter Sandman" entrance as the through line for the nearly two-minute video. Metallica's popular song -- which the band actually performed at Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium during their concert on May 7 -- played in the background as the trailer showed iconic college football locations like the Rose Bowl, Death Valley (LSU's and a bus shot of Clemson's) and more.
There will also be turnover props and so much more.
College Football 25 sold over two million copies, and expectations are high for the follow up. The cover art for this year's game was announce earlier this week, with Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith and Alabama's Ryan Williams as the cover athletes.
When is the release date for College Football 26?
As we said above, it'll be on July 10. Pre-orders have already begun and are available now.
What new features will there be in College Football 26?
There's some intriguing stuff here:
Real coaches and coordinators? Does that mean we'll get video game Bill Belichick?

Metallica's Number Of Platinum Hits Explodes

Metallica has ranked as one of the bestselling rock bands of all time for decades, but the group's commercial success has largely been centered around albums, not singles — at least as far as certifications are concerned. For an act that has remained hugely popular for so long, many might be surprised to learn that the rock outfit claimed only a relatively small number of RIAA-certified hits — meaning tunes that have been named gold or platinum in the U.S. – until recently. That has changed, as Metallica scores dozens of new honors from the music industry organization, and in one fell swoop, the band proves once again just how massively popular its back catalog remains. Before May 28, when the RIAA handed down a new swath of certifications to Metallica, the band had only ever scored one platinum-certified hit in the U.S. 'Enter Sandman' was named a gold smash in 2008 and a platinum success in 2009. Now, it has advanced to nine-times platinum status, which means it has shifted nine million equivalent units in the U.S. One more of these awards, and it will become the rock outfit's first diamond-certified tune — a prestigious honor that is surely within reach. Nine other smashes by Metallica earn some kind of platinum status, with many moving up from gold, which any piece of music reaches after half a million units shifted. Some had never claimed any certification before. 'For Whom the Bell Tolls,' 'Master of Puppets,' 'Fade to Black,' 'Sad but True,' and 'The Unforgiven' all move up from gold to multi-platinum status. The greatest gainer of that bunch is one that jumps from half a million units to five million, or quintuple platinum. Several others reach the triple platinum tier, and the last three are now double platinum successes. Three other cuts — 'Seek & Destroy,' 'Turn the Page,' and 'Wherever I May Roam' — jump from no recognition to platinum, as they have now moved at least one million equivalent units in the U.S. alone. At the same time, 13 songs by Metallica snag their first plaques and are named gold-certified wins. That roundup includes 'Battery,' 'Blackened,' 'Creeping Death,' 'Don't Tread on Me,' 'Hardwired,' 'Hero of the Day,' 'I Disappear,' 'King Nothing,' 'Ride the Lightning,' 'The Four Horsemen,' 'The Memory Remains,' 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium),' and '...And Justice for All.'

Texas A&M football coaches will be included in College Football 26

Texas A&M football coaches will be included in College Football 26 After 11 years, the massive fan base of the former NCAA Football video game franchise disappeared due to various issues related to what we now call Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). However, during the summer of 2025, EA Sports released its first installment since 2013, renamed College Football 25. Selling millions of copies since its July release, the franchise is back in complete form, as College Football 26 looks to improve in several areas and will now include the likenesses of several high-profile coaches, including Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, offensive coordinator Collin Klein, and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman. This is no surprise given the importance of the 2025 season for the Maroon & White. Thanks to GigEm247's Carter Karels, here's how EA Sports is incorporating the likenesses of over 300 coaches to enhance the game plan from a realistic standpoint. "EA Sports released its official reveal trailer for the game Thursday and announced more than 300 current college football coaches – including assistants – agreed to have their likeness featured in addition to various players. It will mark the first time the game has ever incorporated real-life coaches in that way." Within the game, coaches who agreed to participate will be seen on the sideline with playbooks highly similar to the scheme for each team, and in Dynasty mode, coaches can be selected to lead a specific program, which is another exciting feature that will breed plenty of creativity for longtime users of the game. College Football 26 will be released worldwide on Thursday, July 10.
