Where Drew Allar ranks among Big Ten QBs in 2025 Josh Pate ranks Drew Allar and Big Ten QBs for 2025
The expectations are high for Penn State football in 2025, and the return of starting quarterback Drew Allar is one of the key reasons why. Allar's decision to return to the Nittany Lions for another season was
Noted college football podcaster Josh Pate shared his thoughts on the state of quarterbacks in the Big Ten for the upcoming season, and Allar took the top spot on the top-10 list. Allar edged out Ohio State's Julian Sayin and Oregon's Dante Moore, each in position to take over starting jobs with their respective schools this season for the first time. In fact, on the list of the top-10 quarterbacks in the conference from Pate, Allar is the most seasoned and experienced in the bunch, and one of the rare players entering a third season as the starter with his current school.
Other names on the list include star freshman Bryce Underwood with Michigan and UCLA transfer addition Nico Iamaleava, who transferred from Tennessee this offseason.
Allar passed for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns last season to help guide Penn State to an appearance in the Big Ten championship game and make a run to the College Football Playoff semifinal. Allar completed his second season as Penn State's starting quarterback since taking over for Sean Clifford on a full-time basis in the 2023 season. Allar has passed for 49 touchdowns the past two seasons. He will have a chance to end his Penn State career among the top of the Penn State record books as he is primed to pass Matt McGloin for fifth on Penn State's all-time passing list in Week 1 (88 yards from tying McGloin's career passing yardage total) and is on track to eclipse Trace McSorely for second on the school's all-time passing yardage list by the end of the season. Allar is third in Penn State history with 53 career touchdown passes, putting him 24 behind McSorley's 77 career touchdown passes for second on the list. Clifford holds the school record with 86 career touchdown passes.
Allar has been topping various quarterback rankings this offseason. ESPN's Greg McElroy ranked Allar as his third-best quarterback in the nation in his previously released rankings for the 2025 season.

Rocket Classic field 2025: Who is playing in PGA Tour's Detroit stop

Cam Davis is the undisputed king of the Rocket Classic. The Australian is the only person to ever win the tournament twice. It's also the only place he's ever won on the PGA Tour. Davis will look for a third title and his second in a row at the 2025 Rocket Classic, when the PGA Tour returns to Detroit Golf Club for the seventh time June 26-29. Advertisement Though the tournament has only existed since 2019, it has already featured two playoffs. In 2021, Davis defeated Tony Merritt and Joaquín Niemann to claim his first title. In 2023, Rickie Fowler birdied the first hole of the playoff to hold off Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin. All prior champions of the tournament, with the exception of Bryson DeChambeau, who joined LIV Golf, have announced their participation in the tournament. The PGA Tour has been announcing new entrants as we get closer to tournament time. Among the commitments is Ryan Brehm, from Mount Pleasant, who helped Michigan State win three Big Ten championships from 2004-08. Garrett Nussmeier Has Hilarious One-Word Reaction to LSU's Social Media Post

Garrett Nussmeier Has Hilarious One-Word Reaction to LSU's Social Media Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The LSU Tigers are enjoying the hype for their 2025 college football season. Frequently ranked as a top 10 preseason team, the SEC powerhouse is returning some key starters to the field, particularly on defense, like linebackers Harold Perkins and Whit Weeks, defensive tackle Bernard Gooden, cornerbacks PJ Woodland and Javien Toviano, and safeties Jardin Gilbert and Dashawn Spears. Advertisement However, it could be argued that the Tigers' most critical returning starter is 23-year-old quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. The former four-star recruit is now a redshirt senior and will lead head coach Brian Kelly's offense. LSU's social media team shared a throwback post of Nussmeier, who was looking fresh-faced in his No. 13 jersey. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal-caller, likely feeling a slight cringe of nostalgia upon seeing his old photo, shared a one-word response to the post. "Bro 😂😂😂," Nussmeier wrote. Last season, Nussmeier passed for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while leading LSU to a 9-4 record. Advertisement The Tigers stumbled out of the gates with a 27-20 loss to USC but followed that up with six straight wins. Unfortunately, that winning streak was interrupted by three straight losses, which left LSU out of the College Football Playoff conversation. In Bill Connelly's SP+ post-spring rankings on ESPN, he ranked the Tigers at No. 9. His SP+ rankings use returning production, recent recruiting and recent history to project what could happen next season. The Tigers haven't won their opening game in each of the last five seasons, so a hot start would go a long way to set the right tone this year. Michigan Takes Subtle Dig at Ohio State With Bryce Underwood in Latest Social Media Post

Michigan Takes Subtle Dig at Ohio State With Bryce Underwood in Latest Social Media Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the most famous rivalries in college football, dating back to their first meeting on Oct. 16, 1897. Advertisement The Big Ten rivals last met on Nov. 30, when Michigan upset heavily favored Ohio State 13-10 in Columbus. Nine days before that game, the Wolverines made news of another sort when 5-star quarterback Bryce Underwood decommitted from LSU and chose to attend Michigan. Underwood, 17, originally committed to the Tigers in January 2024 but changed his decision after meeting with Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore, according to ESPN's Eli Lederman. In his senior year of high school football, Underwood passed for 2,509 passing yards and 32 touchdowns and was awarded Gatorade Michigan Player of the Year honors. It was the first championship for the 46-year-old Day and the ninth in program history. Advertisement While the Buckeyes dominated the college football scene during the playoff, their rivals took the opportunity to take a subtle dig at the national champs on X. In a new video promoting EA Sports College Football 26 posted to the Wolverines' X account on Thursday, a video game version of Underwood can be seen scrambling around the pocket before spinning past a Buckeyes defender and getting open to sling the ball down the field. While College Football 26 will be enjoyed by fans around the world, the next time the Buckeyes and Wolverines face off outside of a video game will be Nov. 29 at Michigan Stadium. Despite the joy of watching their team win the national title, Ohio State fans are desperate to see their team defeat rival Michigan for the first time since 2019.
