Tennis ace Taylor Fritz's love life from teen marriage to influencer girlfriend

Daily Mirror09-07-2025
Tennis star Taylor Fritz is set to take on reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon semi final and his influencer girlfriend Morgan Riddle will be supporting him every step of the way
Taylor Fritz will be taking on the world number two, Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon semi-finals. It will be the first time that Fritz, who is ranked fifth in the world, has made it to the semis in the UK's grand slam, and as he takes on this major challenge, his influencer girlfriend Morgan Riddle, 27, will be right by his side.
The US tennis star got together with Morgan back in 2020 - a year after his divorce from childhood sweetheart Raquel Pedraza, who he had been with since he was a teenager.

Morgan regularly posts on social media about life following her partner on the ATP tour, and the former model has amassed a sizeable fan base of her own: boasting 600,000 followers on TikTok and amassing a whopping 22.3 million likes on her content.

Whilst all eyes will be on centre court to see if Taylor, 28, can defeat the reigning Wimbledon champ, who knocked out Cameron Norrie - the Brits' great hope in the tournament - there is almost as much interest in the player's life off-court, the Mirror takes a look back at the tennis star's love life.
Ex-wife Raquel Pedraza
Taylor fell in love with his tennis player childhood sweetheart Raquel Pedraza when he was in his teens. The two players bonded over their mutual passion for the sport, and he has credited his ex with playing a huge role in supporting his career.
The tennis player proposed to Raquel - reportedly in front of the Eiffel Tower - and they tied the knot when he was just 18 years old, and she was 17 back in 2016.

A year later, in January 2017, they welcomed their son Jordan, who is now eight years old, and shortly afterwards, in 2017, Taylor opened up in a post-tournament press conference about how his wife had "stepped up" with their new baby to enable him to focus on his career.
In 2014, Raquel had got as high as 86 in the WTA rankings, no mean feat for a youngster, but due to injuries she dropped to 148 a year later - and after having Jordan she decided to retire from the tour altogether.

"My life hasn't really changed too much because of how my wife has stepped up," Taylor explained, "She's really just doing everything she can for me and my tennis."
In 2019, the pair parted ways, when Jordan was just two years old, and Raquel stays out of the spotlight for the most part, focussing on her son.

In the tennis documentary Break Point for Netflix, Taylor opened up about not getting to spend as much time with his son as he would prefer due to the gruelling demands of life as a professional tennis player.
"I have a son that I don't get to see near as much as I'd like," he explained, "As it stands right now, I just have to try and see him as much as I possibly can."
He has also recently explained that there are factors "preventing" him from bringing his son on tour with him - and has previously admitted because he doesn't get to be with Jordan all the time, he does occasionally "spoil" the little boy.

In a seriously sweet moment discussing the semi-final, Taylor admitted he wanted to win the Grand Slam to "really impress" Jordan who, he revealed, isn't often that impressed.
"I don't know," if reaching the semis, "would be enough to impress him, I hope so," Taylor joked, adding, "Every time I tell him that I won a title or played really well it's like .... he doesn't react too much....hopefully one day I can do something that truly impresses him".
Girlfriend Morgan Riddle
Taylor and Morgan got together five years ago in 2020, after matching on the dating app of choice for celebs, Raya. Influencer and former model Morgan has admitted she knew next to nothing about tennis before they fell in love - a far cry from his fellow-professional player ex - but since she has found a niche for herself on social media creating content about life following the ATP as a tennis WAG.

She reportedly gave up her full time corporate job to travel with her partner the year after they got together, and the content she makes about being a tennis girlfriend has gained her a wealth of fans - and she hopes helped introduce the sport to a younger American audience, who may not have been as engaged with it before.
Morgan revealed to People magazine that Taylor is totally in agreement that tennis needs to work a little bit harder to reach the next generation of fans, explaining: "I think that he appreciates that we both have this collective goal of bringing it to a younger crowd. He does his part of it, and I do mine. I remember when him and I first met within the first week or two, one of the things that he told me is I just want tennis to be cooler in our generation. It's just not."

When Morgan faced a little bit of backlash for a TikTok she posted about making "tennis cool again" Taylor jumped straight in to defend her, saying in 2022: "I don't understand how anyone can get upset about it. I'm the one that's a professional tennis player, I'm the one that does this for a living. I 100 percent agree with everything in that video".
Taylor has credited the rise in his ranking since their relationship began to Morgan noting previously there is an "obvious correlation".
He said in one interview, "There's been a pretty constant, I guess, results and ranking rise since we've been together. I think I would have to say she's been a big help to me just kind of keeping me focused, having someone who cares and just pushes you to just do better and do the right things, be healthier.

"Almost like kind of just mother me in a way with, like, the diet and going to sleep on time. But just having someone to push you in the right direction all the time, supporting you, it helps a lot."
However, he quickly tried to backtrack after referring to her as motherly, saying it was the best "choice" of term.
Morgan is never afraid to speak her mind - whether that's discussing women's rights, tennis fashion, or the relative coolness level of racquet sports - and last year it landed her in a bit of hot water.
After her boyfriend defeated Alexander Zverev who has faced allegations of abuse from former partners - something he denies - Morgan posted a thinly veiled dig at the German tennis star.
She posted a snap of herself taking a sip from her drink on her Instagram story captioned, "when your man wins 4 the girls." However, the photo was quickly deleted amid the controversy it generated.

Celebrity Big Brother legend launching surprise music career as she teams up with Zara Larsson for sexy single

ZARA Larsson has worked with everyone from MNEK to David Guetta and Clean Bandit. But now the Swedish singer has lined up a very surprising collaboration with a Celebrity Big Brother legend. 3 3 3 Insiders have told The Sun that Zara, 27, has called on reality TV sensation Tiffany 'New York' Pollard for a brand new single called Hot And Sexy. Tiffany, 43, became an internet sensation on a series of shows in the US before a stint on Celebrity Big Brother here in 2016, where she clashed with Gemma Collins. She also went viral during her infamous 'David's dead' breakdown, where she mistakenly believed their housemate David Guest had died, after Angie Bowie told her that her ex-husband, rock star David Bowie, had passed away. A source said: 'Zara is a big fan of Tiffany's and has seen the cultural significance of what she does. 'On TikTok, Tiffany is off the charts and Zara approached her to see if she wanted to team up. 'Tiff helped write the track as well as singing alongside Zara on it. It's such a fun, upbeat song - it's going to be massive. 'Zara had so much fun working with her. They're going to be firm friends for life.' Tiffany returned to our screens earlier this year when she appeared as a guest on Celebrity Big Brother's Late And Live. One episode descended into chaos after Tiffany confronted Daley Thompson, branding him 'rotten'. After Daley, who was the third celeb to leave the house, made a comment about Tiffany being 'friendless' she hit back and said: 'Listen sweetheart, I don't need your friendship. Zara Larsson teases surprise joint album with HUGE US star as she says 'I think she's incredible 'Because, you might be a good kisser but you might need to kiss some tomatoes because you are rotten, honey.' Tiffany also confronted Trisha Goddard when she was evicted, calling her out for being 'rude'. Host Will Best asked: 'Is it bad out here in the real world?' prompting Trisha to reply: 'I could've run back in, but no, honestly by the time I got here, I've been used to studios like this for 35 years, and so I felt at home.' Tiffany then interjected and said: 'Oh that's why you were so rude to me upstairs during the debrief thing when you told me that I was small because you felt at home to be rude.'

Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp opens personal archive for new film

In a move to celebrate the moments that matter most, Martin Kemp has opened up his personal collection of home videos to be featured in a new film accompanying an original poem released today. Life Unfolds Fast is narrated by the Spandau Ballet star and penned by poet Georgie Jones, with the poem a heartfelt exploration of the milestones that shape our lives. From proposals and marriage to sending off a child for the first day of school, the poem captures the essence of love, family and connection. Kemp showcases intimate moments from his family life by sharing home videos featuring his family - wife Shirlie, son Roman and daughter Harley - adding a personal touch to the shared human experience. Video Loading The poem was commissioned by Samsung to celebrate the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold7, the slimmest and lightest foldable smartphone yet, whilst also boasting its most expansive screen ever. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is available for pre-order now on the Samsung website and other retailers, with general availability beginning July 25. It helps to relive the moments, such as Martin's, that matter to us most like never before. Kemp said: 'Some of my life's greatest memories are those simple moments at home – playing with my kids in the garden, holding Harley and Roman as babies, and singing with my wife in the car. 'These are moments that truly define our lives. Sharing these personal glimpses allows people to see how small, intimate moments become the big memories we want to go back to over again.' A poll of 2,000 British adults has identified holding your baby for the first time, getting the keys to your first home and saying your last goodbyes to a loved one have been ranked among unmissable moments that shape our lives. On average, British adults experience five unmissable moments per year, with three-quarters (76%) agreeing that they represent significant milestones, foster deep emotional connections, and create lasting memories as well as help define us as people. Informing the key beats of the poem, the research offers a stirring portrait of what matters most to Brits today: connection, love, family, and memory, as it appears Britons will go to lengths to keep phone-held memories. Galaxy AI can also offer proactive suggestions to enhance your photos, like removing passers-by in the background of your group selfie so it's just the people that matter. 'Our research shows that over 40% of us take photos and videos for the sole purpose to not forget our best memories,' said Annika Bizon, Mobile Experience VP of Product and Marketing. 'The Galaxy Z Fold7's expansive screen brings you closer to life's unmissable moments. It allows you to capture & revisit the memories you never want to forget, feeling their warmth and emotion time and time again.' Memories are a large part of our emotional wellbeing as 85% of respondents reported to reliving the cherished memories on their phones. The survey found 60% of Britons value their digital memories as much as physical mementos or keepsakes. One of the main motivations for capturing these special experiences is to share them with friends and family who couldn't be there (36%), while 29% want to preserve them for future generations. The majority (85%) regularly revisit the moments they've saved, with 36% doing so as a pick-me-up. Nearly a third (31%) love to flick through digital memories as it brings back little details they'd forgotten, with a quarter (26%) doing so just to feel the same emotions all over again. Nearly half the nation (49%) admitted to worrying about forgetting key life moments, saying they don't want to forget core memories that involve people they love, nor forget some of the happiest times of their lives (46%). As 41% take photos and videos for the sole purpose to not forget their best memories, a further 49% of Brits feel stressed if their phone storage is running low, in case they cannot capture a key life moment. When revealing time spent reliving their favourite moments, British adults rewatching core memories on their phone four times a month on average, with 12% estimating that they have over 10 hours of footage on their phone. Looking ahead, many are still hopeful about the unforgettable moments to come, with 24% hoping to see someone you love achieve something that they have worked hard for.

Bleeding HGTV makes sweeping changes in last-ditch attempt to save network amid crisis

HGTV has cancelled seven shows in a bid to cut costs and bring the network into a new era. In recent weeks, the channel has axed Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It, The Flipping El Moussas, Christina on the Coast, Married to Real Estate, Battle on the Beach, and Bargain Block, which has left fans furious. According to Deadline, the bold decision to cull the seven programs was to help free up some money. The publication reports that HGTV home renovation shows can cost up to $500,000 per episode compared to real estate shows, which costs somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000, and can be produced in a shorter period. 'Home reno shows are expensive because all of the materials are jacked up and on delay, the price of wood and marble and everything else is going up so these shows don't make as much sense anymore,' one source told Deadline. On top of budget issues, a producer claimed some talent were being paid up to $100,000 an episode and were 'afraid to say no.' 'They allowed their talent to run amok,' an insider alleged. 'They gave them some form of creative control and that's harming their own shows. They were so afraid of talent they never said no and the shows aren't delivering anymore. 'They kowtowed to talent and now they're suffering the consequences.' Additionally, the publication claimed that HGTV has been struggling with ratings, as well as competition from TikTok stars and other channels. 'I don't know if it's a show thing as much of an audience thing where a lot of people are dropping cable,' another source said. 'There was a time when people would just put on HGTV when they were cleaning.' Daily Mail has contacted HGTV for comment. Despite the bloodbath, HGTV does have new programming on the way. Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott are returning with a brand new show, Chasing the West, which is set to premiere on July 30. The eight-part series will see them help buyers find their dream ranch. Earlier this month, HGTV announced Queer Eye's Bobby Berk will front a new series, Junk or Jackpot, which 'follows collectors as they discover the true monetary value of their massive and unusual collections.' The show is executive produced by John Cena. My Lottery Dream and Zillow Gone Wild both returned to the network this month. My Lottery Dream, hosted by David Bromstad, sees him 'help clients purchase their fantasy homes with their newly attained fortunes.' 'No matter where these lucky buyers want to settle, David won't stop until he finds luxurious properties that deliver every feature on a lottery winner's wish list,' the synopsis teases. Meanwhile, Zillow Gone Wild follows comedian and actor Jack McBrayer as he searches the internet for the weirdest, wackiest and wildest properties on the market inspired by the exceedingly popular Instagram account that touts more than two million followers.
