Yemeni Center for Human Rights condemns Israeli aggression on Civilian Infrastructure in Hodeidah

Saba Yemen6 days ago
Sana'a – Saba:
The Yemeni Center for Human Rights strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression targeting Yemen's civilian and service infrastructure, including the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Al-Salif, as well as the central power station in Ras Kathib.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the center described the targeting of these vital humanitarian ports—critical for transporting food and medicine to millions of Yemenis—as a deliberate war crime aimed at starving the population and destroying essential civilian life systems, in blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
The statement emphasized that these acts violate multiple international agreements, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and Protocol I of 1977, which prohibit attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. It also referenced the Rome Statute, which criminalizes the widespread destruction of civilian property and the use of starvation as a method of warfare.
The center cited UN Security Council Resolution 3314 (1974), Article 3(c), which defines the targeting of civilian infrastructure as an act of aggression, and Article 11 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which guarantees civilians' right to food and water.
The statement warned that attacking humanitarian ports disables 70% of aid entry into Yemen, severely worsening what the UN has described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis, driven by years of blockade that have already resulted in tens of thousands of deaths due to famine, lack of medicine, collapse of the healthcare system, and catastrophic malnutrition among women and children.
The center affirmed that these acts are part of a systematic campaign of genocide, stressing Yemenis' legitimate right to self-defense in protecting their lives and dignity. It also asserted that justice for victims is a non-negotiable and timeless right.
The statement further warned that global silence amounts to complicity, particularly by the UN Security Council, which has yet to issue any condemnation despite the rising civilian death toll.
The Yemeni Center for Human Rights called on Arab and Islamic governments to sever ties with Israel, prosecute its leaders at the International Criminal Court, launch campaigns to halt arms exports to Israel, and boycott companies supporting the occupation.

Democratic Front condemns Netanyahu attempts to foil negotiations

Gaza - Saba: The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) condemned the attempts of the war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his partners in fascism and criminality, to push the indirect Doha negotiations to the brink of failure by sowing complications and mines in their path, preventing them from reaching consensus on the points of contention. In a statement issued Sunday and received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the DFLP also condemned "his attempts to push our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip toward starvation and displacement through acts of mass killing, to force our displaced families to flee and become unstable, leaving them in a state of displacement, loss of stability and livelihood, and suffering from hunger. This is all done with the aim of dragging the population south and confining them to a mass detention camp called the "Humanitarian City," as a prelude to their displacement outside the Gaza Strip." The DFLP called on "mediators to exert greater pressure on the Israeli negotiator to comply with solutions that pave the way for the complete withdrawal of enemy forces from the Gaza Strip and to close the way to the project of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and the mass displacement of our people from the Gaza Strip." The Democratic Front called on "national forces, social activists, and activists in the Gaza Strip to work diligently to provide everything possible to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and lift the heavy burden off their shoulders, enabling them to face the difficult moments of the negotiations. This is in the hope of breaking the enemy's stubbornness and intransigence, reaching a point that guarantees a ceasefire, providing humanitarian aid, and opening the way for an end to the war and the withdrawal of enemy forces." Israel Pushes for International Coalition to Launch Renewed Strikes on Houthis in Yemen

Israel is reportedly intensifying its diplomatic and military outreach to form a broad international coalition—including the United States—to launch renewed strikes against the Iran-backed group in Yemen , Amid escalating attacks by Houthi militants targeting commercial shipping and Israeli infrastructure. Senior Israeli officials have sent formal communications to Washington, urging more robust joint operations and expanded military coordination, citing what they describe as a 'global maritime security threat.' Israel argues that the Houthis' continued missile and drone strikes on vessels in the Red Sea and infrastructure such as Eilat Port and Ben Gurion Airport call for collective action beyond limited air raids. Sources close to the Israeli defense establishment suggest that the proposed coalition may include regional and Western powers and could mimic past multinational efforts in Syria and Lebanon. Intelligence-sharing between Israel and the United States has reportedly increased in recent weeks, with a focus on neutralizing Houthi launch capabilities and disrupting their supply chains.
