2025 PFL 4 video: Sullivan Cauley elbows Alex Polizzi a la Travis Browne in 96 seconds
Sullivan Cauley made quick work of Alex Polizzi during 2025 PFL Tournament 4 on Thursday in Orlando, Fla.
In a battle of former Bellator light heavyweights, Cauley (7-1) took out Polizzi (11-5) with a series of big elbows for a stoppage at 1:36 of Round 1.
The elbows came as Polizzi drove Cauley into the fence for a takedown. In a somewhat Travis Browne-esque fashion, Cauley repeatedly punished Polizzi for his attempt. The elbows appeared to potentially hit the back of Polizzi's head, but referee Kevin MacDonald deemed them legal and stepped in to wave off the fight.
Polizzi was initially scheduled to compete in an alternate bout on the undercard vs. Rafael Xavier. However, Marcelo Nunes withdrew from his tournament fight vs. Cauley hours before the event and Polizzi stepped in.

Patchy Mix labels himself 'one of the most hyped' UFC signings in history

Patchy Mix labels himself 'one of the most hyped' UFC signings in history Show Caption Hide Caption UFC 316: Patchy Mix media day interview UFC 316 fighter Patchy Mix spoke to MMA Junkie and reporters at media day for his main card bout vs. Mario Bautista on Saturday in Newark, N.J. MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Patchy Mix has no problem elevating the expectations ahead of his already highly-anticipated UFC debut. Mix (20-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), a former Bellator bantamweight champion, is set to make his first walk to the octagon this Saturday at UFC 316 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+), which takes place at Prudential Center in Newark. He takes on rising contender Mario Bautista (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC). For quite some time now, many have regarded Mix as one of the best fighters at 135 pounds. Mix is well aware of the chatter around his signing and very much agrees with the narrative going into Saturday's pay-per-view event. "I'm 31 years old, and I'm 20-1 with a very, very close decision loss. I mean, I could be 21-0, one round removed," Mix said at UFC 316 media day on Wednesday. "I'm in my prime. I have like an 80 percent finish rate. The last five guys I've fought have like a record combined of like 120-15. That's a crazy amount of experience and crazy good names. "I feel like I'm one of the most hyped prospects to ever have come over. Maybe if the promotion didn't sell and all that stuff, I don't know if I would've been able to get out to come over. I guess everything just worked out for a reason.' Mix was the last Bellator bantamweight champion before the promotion was bought by PFL and then disbanded. Although he had fights left on his contract with PFL, the promotion granted him his release, which led to signing with the UFC. Although Mix has considered himself the world's best for a while now, he knows that joining the UFC was crucial to proving the world what he's made of. "I belong in the UFC," Mix said. "I am among, if not, I truly, full-heartedly believe I'm the best bantamweight in the world, and I need to be in the UFC to prove that. I'm happy to have the diehards' support, but I'm looking forward to proving on Saturday why people support me, why I'm as touted as I am."

UFC 318: Patricio Freire gets sophomore assignment vs. Dan Ige in New Orleans

UFC 318: Patricio Freire gets sophomore assignment vs. Dan Ige in New Orleans Ask and you shall receive. It looks like the UFC heard Dan Ige's recent callout and obliged, booking him against former two-division Bellator champion Patricio Freire for UFC 318 – a pay-per-view event that's set to go down July 19 at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with two sources following a report from Super Lutas on Tuesday. Both Ige (19-9 MMA, 11-8 UFC) and Freire (36-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) fought at UFC 314 in April in different bouts. Ige stopped fellow veteran Sean Woodson, while Freire lost his UFC debut in a unanimous decision against Yair Rodriguez. With the victory, Ige was able to snap a two-fight losing skid that had him dropping decisions against top contenders Diego Lopes and Lerone Murphy. On the other hand, Freire, who's arguably the most successful fighter in Bellator history, fell into a 1-3 rut. Prior to debuting for the UFC, "Pitbull" stopped Jeremy Kennedy and lost to Chihiro Suzuki and Sergio Pettis. Current UFC 318 lineup

Patchy Mix oozing confidence before UFC debut vs. Mario Bautista: 'I will f*ck him up'

Patchy Mix oozing confidence before UFC debut vs. Mario Bautista: 'I will f*ck him up' Patchy Mix is ready to prove he is UFC championship material. Mix (20-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his octagon debut against ranked 135-pounder Mario Bautista (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) on Saturday's UFC 316 main card (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The former Bellator champion has long declared himself the No. 1 bantamweight in the world, and he will get the opportunity to prove it. He watched footage of Bautista fighting Jay Perrin in February 2022 and liked what he saw. "Right here, where he rests, he won't be able to rest against me," Mix said on "UFC Embedded." "If that kid (Perrin) can push him up against the fence, I think I can. I'm a f*cking three-time world champion, this guy is a journeyman fighter. I will f*ck him up, bro. I'm going to f*ck him up. Look at his holes. I'll submit him, and I'll submit whoever is teaching him jiu-jitsu. I'll submit the whole f*cking crew." Mix is ready to live up to his full potential. "Two years ago, that was our first world title," Mix said when pointing at his Bellator belt. "We knocked the dude (Stots) out in a minute, and I'm a submission guy. So, it was my first knockout, and that's how I won my million dollars and my first world title. Since then, we've won two more belts, and now we're over here, so we're coming for this belt. We really want to win that UFC strap, bring a new dynamic to the division."
