U.S. Soccer unveils two new jerseys for 2025 campaign

Fox Sports13-05-2025
U.S. Soccer on Tuesday released its kit collection for the 2025 campaign, which is headlined by a new home kit for the women's team and an away kit that will be worn by the men's and women's teams.
The "Brilliant Kit" will be the home kit of the women's national team in 2025. It celebrates 40 years of the U.S. women's national team, with design elements inspired by past USWNT kits, including the stars that are lightly printed on the jersey.
The "Heartbeat Kit" will be the away kit of the men's and women's national teams in 2025. It was designed as a tribute to the fans, which is the "hearbeat" of U.S. Soccer.
"Their energy is a rhythmic force that brings people together and pushes the game forward," U.S. Soccer said in a press release on Tuesday. "Designed with a heritage-meets-streetstyle aesthetic, the Heartbeat Kit channels the pulse of the soccer nation."
The kits were developed in collaboration with Nike and senior national team players Lynn Biyendolo, Naomi Girma, Sophia Wilson, Kellyn Acosta, DeAndre Yedlin and Walker Zimmerman, according to the release.
The USMNT will wear their new kits at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. The USWNT will wear theirs during the upcoming international window, in which they will play friendlies against China and Jamaica.

Mexico Beats USA In A Soccer Final Again, This Time 5-0

Mexico Mexico Beats USA In A Soccer Final Again, This Time 5-0 Updated Aug. 11, 2025 3:11 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Mexico keeps on winning soccer silverware over the United States, this time with a blowout win. Mexico's Under-15 boys' team beat its U.S. counterpart 5-0 in Sunday's 2025 Concacaf Boys' Under-15 Championship for a second straight title in that competition. All five of Mexico's goals in the tournament's final – played in Alajuela, Costa Rica – were scored by Mexican-American players. Juan Carlos Martínez Jr., who had two goals in the final and won the Best Player Award, was born in California and plays for the LA Galaxy Academy. Mexico's three other goals in the final were scored by: Paxon Ruffin, born in Florida, who plays in the youth ranks of Liga MX club Monterrey; Da'vian Kimbrough (Sacramento FC academy); and Lisandro Torres (LAFC Academy). Kimbrough and Torres were also born in California. It's been a banner year for El Tri's soccer teams, especially on the men's senior side. Mexico won its first Concacaf Nations League title in March over Canada, snapping the U.S. men's national team's hold on that competition. Mexico then followed that by winning its 10th Concacaf Gold Cup in July with a 2-1 win over the USMNT. ADVERTISEMENT Along with the U-15 title, Mexico also won the Under-20 Concacaf title on Aug. 5. That was Mexico's 14th U-20 crown and its first since the 2015 edition. The U.S. had won the previous three editions. Mexico and the U.S. are serving as co-hosts (along with Canada) for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, and it's great to see the rivalry and talent on the pitch between the two sides continue to grow for years to come. share Get more from the Mexico Follow your favorites to get information about games, news and more

Shedeur Sanders's debut prompted an instant Nike ad

Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders made an impressive NFL debut on Friday night. Sure, it was a preseason game. He nevertheless went from fourth string to starter — and he embraced the opportunity. His performance prompted an immediate Nike ad. 'Only a matter of time,' it said, via Pat Benson of Time will tell where it goes from here. For now, it's clear he shouldn't have fallen to pick No. 144. He fell because, we were told in the aftermath of the draft, he treated the process as if he were being recruited, not as if he were being interviewed. And that exposes a very real flaw in the apparatus. While it wasn't particularly wise for the Browns to take Sanders two rounds after selecting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Sanders was available because the league's collective how-dare-you attitude caused him to slip and to slip, and to slip. Yes, it's important for teams to think a quarterback will take the job seriously. But Sanders isn't like other quarterbacks whose perceived nonchalance when interacting with teams means he'll be nonchalant when it's time to practice and to play. In 2014, then-rookie Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel learned on a Tuesday that he'd be starting on Sunday. Instead of buckling down and preparing, he went to the Cavs game. Shedeur Sanders wouldn't do that. If/when he gets a chance to start for the Browns, he'll be ready. Whether and when he gets that chance depends on whether he'll build on his Week 1 preseason performance. On Saturday, the Browns face the Eagles. He'll surely play, if not start. And if he checks the box again, more momentum will build toward Sanders earning the chance to play in a game that counts. The haters will continue to dismiss his performance in the preseason. As we explained on Monday's PFT Live, Sanders showed instinctive traits that will serve him well during regular-season games. Sliding in the pocket. Running away from pressure. Displaying fearlessness by throwing the ball just before taking an inevitable hit. It's easy for some to root against Shedeur. He's easy to root for, too. His success will become an unintended repudiation of the not-so-subtle message that teams send to incoming players. A cautionary tale for future teams that get miffed when a player doesn't assume the position and say 'thank you sir, may I have another?' during the endless 'interview' process that culminates in teams getting dibs on players, with players having little or no control over where the Sorting Hat sends them. And who knows? Maybe after years of bungling the most important position on the field, the Browns may have accidentally stumbled into a player who will become the long-term answer.
