PAFA Plan to Join A1 League Next Season
PAFA, in a statement posted on the official Perak FA Facebook page, said its main focus at present is to build a team around the Perak Malaysia Games (SUKMA) squad, which will form the backbone of The Bos Gaurus' domestic revival.
'Planning is actively under way to enter the AFL‑organised League as a starting point, while also making long‑term preparations for SUKMA 2026, the 2026 President's Cup and the 2026 Youth Cup.

'We greatly appreciate the strong support of the state government led by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, who has always been attentive and committed to helping PAFA drive football development in the state,' the statement said.
On 22 May, AFL chairman Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi welcomed the participation of Perak and Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) in the A1 League after both clubs failed to secure the National Licence, ending the 2018 Malaysia Cup champions' (Perak FC's) hopes of playing in next season's Super League.
The two teams' failure to meet the financial criteria laid out in the Malaysian Football League Club Licensing Regulations 2024‑2025 (MFL CLR) was the main reason their national licences were rejected.
PAFA said its president, Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin, has already held a series of strategic meetings with senior football leaders, including Mohd Yusoff, to discuss direction, eligibility and entry requirements for the Amateur League, President's Cup, Youth Cup, A1 League, and future national‑licence applications.
As the state's governing body for football, PAFA acknowledged fans' disappointment but called for everyone to unite, rebuild and sow fresh hope.

Hannah also shared that they would continue developing sports for women following the lack of female athletes and technical officials in Sukma 2024 in Sarawak, with today's meeting agreeing that for every open event, participation of athletes of different genders were compulsory. "For sports events contested at the Olympic Games, they will be held and not dropped according to previous Sukma regulations even if the number of women athletes did not meet the minimum requirement of six states. "This is a very important departure to encourage women sports continue to provide opportunities to compete, even with the lack of investment and funds from all states,' Hannah said. Also, each state contingent has been asked to appoint a woman head of contingent or deputy head and to have a 20 per cent quota of female support officials for secretariat and medical duties beginning from Sukma 2026. "Selangor Sukma will have at least 30 per cent female volunteers and 20 per cent female tournament technical officials. Hafiz steps down as president to keep Warriors in A1 Semi Pro League
A new beginning: Former Kelantan Red Warriors president Nik Hafiz Naim Nik (right) shaking hands with newly-appointed CEO Wan Mohd Fajarul Ekram. — KRW PETALING JAYA: Kelantan Red Warriors president Nik Hafiz Naim Nik has taken the drastic step of stepping down to ensure the team's continued participation in the A1 Semi Pro League, which kicked off last Saturday. Hafiz admitted that it was a difficult decision, but one he felt was necessary to avoid risking the collapse of the team after all the efforts that had been poured into building it. He has also relinquished all positions and shareholdings in KRW in a bid to distance the team from any claims linking it to the troubled Kelantan FC. As a result, ownership of the Red Warriors has now been transferred to coffeehouse franchise Nasken Coffee, with Wan Mohd Fajarul Ekram appointed as the club's new chief executive officer. 'When this issue surfaced, it sparked a lot of speculation in the media, particularly linking me to Kelantan FC as a former shareholder. ''Unfortunately, it also affected Red Warriors and led to a suspension by FIFA. 'So I've decided to step aside to help ease the situation and pave the way for the team to return to action in the A1 League,' said Hafiz. The club are currently under investigation by FIFA over allegations that the team are essentially a rebranded version of Kelantan FC, who still have unsettled salary arrears involving several former players and officials. 'Kelantan have a strong team in the A1 League and I believe they can go all the way to win the title this year. I will continue to support the club that I hold dear,' he added.
