This information was shared during an online webinar organised by DU's admission branch on Wednesday, aimed at addressing student queries and explaining the PG application process. Students who graduated from DU are not required to submit a migration certificate, while those applying from other universities must provide one.
DU dean of admissions Prof Haneet Gandhi and joint dean Anand Sonkar responded to questions during the session.
Prof Gandhi clarified that students awaiting their final undergraduate results may submit an undertaking confirming they will meet the eligibility criteria by Oct 31. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of admission without further notice.
The application window for PG programmes is open until June 6. Students must apply using the same email ID used for CUET-PG registration. DU's PG admissions will be conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2025, based on CUET scores.
Applicants are advised to check the official DU website for updates. Once a seat is allotted, it must be accepted, or the applicant will be excluded from the admission process. Accepted seats can be upgraded in subsequent rounds. Providing false information in the application form will result in rejection.
Students were also cautioned to provide accurate bank account details, as any refunds will be credited to the same account. Additionally, applicants were advised against filling out the form on a mobile phone and instructed to prepare documents exactly as outlined in the PG Information Bulletin. Candidates applying to NCWEB (Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board) PG programmes must also apply through the CSAS system.

CSAS UG 2025: DU announces third round allocation for CW, ECA, Sports and performance-based programmes NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi has declared the third round allocation for Undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2025-26. This round covers performance-based programmes, ward quota, CW (Children/Wards of University employees), ECA (Extra-Curricular Activities), and sports categories. Candidates who participated in this round can now check their upgraded seat allocations on the official admission portal. The announcement was made at 5:00 pm on August 13, with candidates required to accept their allocated seats between August 13 and August 17. The university has set specific deadlines for fee payment and seat acceptance to ensure the smooth completion of the admission process. Key dates and admission schedule The third round of CSAS allocations includes performance-based programmes such as Music, BFA, PE (Physical Education), and HE&S (Health, Environment & Sports), along with the ward quota, CW, ECA, and sports categories. The round finalises the allotment of seats for these categories based on updated preferences and available vacancies. Event Date and time Declaration of third round allocation August 13, 5:00 PM Acceptance of allocated seats August 13 to August 17 Final date for fee payment August 17, 4:59 PM Colleges verify and approve applications August 13 to August 17 Candidates who have been allocated seats must confirm their acceptance and complete the payment process by the stipulated deadlines. Failure to meet these requirements will lead to forfeiture of the allocated seat. Upgrade window and college verification Before the third round allocation, candidates admitted in earlier rounds were given the opportunity to upgrade their preferences during the upgrade and preference reorder window. This allowed candidates to opt for higher-preference programmes or colleges, with upgraded seat allocations processed automatically at the college level. Admission to an upgraded seat is confirmed only upon successful fee payment. Colleges are responsible for verifying and approving all online applications within the admission schedule. This ensures that candidates fulfil eligibility criteria and that all documentation is accurate. Verification for the third round admissions continues alongside seat acceptance until August 17. Payment deadlines and next steps The university mandates that candidates must pay the admission fees by August 17 to confirm their seat allocation. If the fee is not received by the deadline, the allocated seat will be cancelled and made available for further rounds or waiting-list candidates. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official admission website for updates and notifications. The university has also displayed a vacant seat matrix post this round to provide transparency and assist candidates in making informed choices. Old Delhi's last deed writer keeps a 150-year legacy alive

NEW DELHI: In a dim, paper-cluttered room in Old Delhi's Sitaram Bazar, a lone pen still scratches against paper. Once, dozens of deed writers worked in these lanes, drafting and translating legal records in elegant Urdu. Today, only one remains — 71-year-old Aziz-ur-Rehman, who has been at his desk since 1976, turning brittle pages from the 1860s and even royal orders from the Mughal court into words the present can understand. Just 500 metres from Chawri Bazar Metro station, down the narrow lanes near Bulbuli Khana, his small office feels like a time capsule. On his table lies a fragile sheet from the 1860s — paper yellowed, ink still clear. Some documents bear the regal seal of the Mughal Badshah; others carry the stamp of the Delhi government in the early 20th century. Revenue records from 1979 sit beside local orders by Dayaganj Registrar dated from July 1947. For Aziz, each translation is more than a conversion of words — it is a conversation across centuries. Every day, records arrive from as far as Kanpur, Bhopal and Amroha. In his seven-hour shift (11 am to 6 pm), he serves six to seven customers, dictating translations to his typist. He charges Rs 500 a page and rarely takes more than two days to finish a deed. The shop itself is modest, yet its shelves carry the weight of history. Faded files, bound in red tape, lean like weary old men. An old wall clock, its face clouded with dust, ticks slowly as spider webs hang like lace in the corners. Piles of labelled, yellowing papers fill the space. A plastic bag holds his Delhi University degree and a letter of appreciation from the city's Art and Culture Department. A small water cooler sits next to half-torn chairs, while an enormous flat-screen TV beams the latest news — a jarring reminder that the world outside moves at a far faster pace.
