Oilers contemplating at least one lineup change for Game 4 of Stanley Cup final

FORT LAUDERDALE — The Oilers could mix things up for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Wednesday he's contemplating at least one lineup change with Edmonton trailing the Florida Panthers 2-1 in the best-of-seven title series.
One potential switch for the Oilers, who are coming off an undisciplined 6-1 defeat Monday, could see defenceman Troy Stecher draw in for John Klingberg.
Knoblauch declined to name his starting goaltender for Thursday after Stuart Skinner was pulled in the third period of Game 3.
Edmonton forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, meanwhile, remains a question mark after missing Tuesday's practice.
The 32-year-old with five goals and 13 assists in these playoffs was also a game-time decision Monday.

Oilers pep rally held at mini Moss Pit at south Edmonton school
A pep rally for the Edmonton Oilers was held at the Joey Moss School on June 12, 2025. (Galen McDougall/CTV News Edmonton) A south Edmonton school that shares its namesake with local Oilers icon Joey Moss held a pre-game pep rally for the team on Thursday afternoon. The Joey Moss School, which has more than 900 students enrolled, is a K-9 school that opened in September 2022. It has a learning commons area that is affectionately named the 'Moss Pit' and it pays tribute to Moss, who died in 2020 at the age of 57. Moss started working with the Oilers in the mid-80s after being brought to the attention of team management by Wayne Gretzky. He served as a locker room attendant and in other roles throughout his time with the team and he was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. Vance, a grade 3 student at the school, told CTV News Edmonton before the rally that the Oilers have his full support. 'They're a big part of my life and I just want to cheer them on and bring all the energy I can,' he said, adding that his favourite player is Leon Draisaitl. 'I'm German. He's from Germany. His number is 29. My birth number is 29,' Vance said while listing the things he had in common with the Oilers forward. 'They're doing it this year. It's our year. We're going to win this year.' Oilers watch party a go in Manchester Square, organizers say come rain or shine

Manchester Square property management said an Oilers watch party will go ahead as planned for the rest of the games in the Stanley Cup Final. Thursday morning's air quality health index is listed as low risk in Edmonton, which is a welcome change to organizers. A very high risk reading on Wednesday saw the city shrouded with wildfire smoke. Experts suggested wearing a mask when the index was seven or higher and staying indoors. 'We're going to leave it up to the public's opinion. If you feel comfortable, by all means, you can come down,' Giordano Morgulis, with the Manchester Square property developers and management team, told CTV News Edmonton on Wednesday. Morgulis said the watch party, which is in its first year and held in collaboration with the 124 Street Business Improvement Area, follows the city's recommendation for outdoor activities and events. The event is free and fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs and seating. A big television screen will be up to watch the Edmonton Oilers face off against the Florida Panthers in Game 4 on Thursday night and in Game 5 on Saturday night. Both games will have a 6 p.m. start time. 'I do recommend (that) if anyone wants to come down and watch it on Saturday, (to) get here very early. It's going to be a great day,' Morgulis said, adding that the last game viewing had more than 2,000 people. 'The outcome has been amazing. It's great for the community. It's great for the Oilers. It's great for the local tenants here as well,' he said. 'We're on board with keeping it up year after year.' Morgulis added that even if the smoke returns and air quality conditions worsen, he hopes they will be able to overcome each obstacle to keep the event going. 'That's kind of the punches we take when we keep rolling with them. There's always going to be things that give a little bit of hurdles to everybody,' Morgulis said.
