Love Island's Maura Higgins lookalike Megan Clarke reveals what she REALLY thinks about being compared to show legend

Megan reveals why she has been single for nearly three years MAURA LESS Love Island's Maura Higgins lookalike Megan Clarke reveals what she REALLY thinks about being compared to show legend Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island's new Maura Higgins lookalike has sympathy for her fellow Irish beauty after she snogged married McFly guitarist Danny Jones. Musical theatre student Megan Forte Clarke, 24, from Dublin, said she is flattered by comparisons to Maura, who is ten years older and appeared as a bombshell on the ITV dating show in 2019. She's an icon' Credit: Instagram 3 Maura, who is ten years older, appeared as a bombshell on the ITV dating show in 2019 But asked how she felt about Maura's now infamous kiss with Danny, 39, at a Brit Awards after-party in London earlier this year, Megan said: 'We've all had a drunken kiss.' Megan, who is set to enter the ITV2 villa tomorrow, has drawn comparisons to Maura thanks to her Irish accent and glamorous brunette looks. She said: 'I love Maura — what a compliment. She's an icon. 'She is like the Queen of Ireland. So if people are comparing me to her, then cheers, love that, thank you.' Meanwhile, Megan, who calls herself the 'modern day Bridget Jones', said she has been single for nearly three years after her university boyfriend cheated on her. She added: 'We were on and off for about a year during my first year at university and I've been single since. 'We met at uni [The Brighton Academy] — musical theatre boys are never a good idea.' Asked if it ended on good terms, she said: 'No. No, God, no! He cheated on me quite a bit. The girls were none the wiser. 'So I would never blame a girl in that sense, but I definitely confronted him. He felt my wrath. I didn't really get any revenge. I think ignorance is bliss, so he was blocked. I haven't spoken to him since.' 'Hell and horror' Of her recent dating life, she said: 'It has been more than two years of hell and horror. ITV are celebrating ten years of Love Island with a huge TV celebration featuring the show's biggest stars 'I've been asked on a walk for a date. I'm like, 'That's brilliant, I love being a dog'. 'It is just never good and then they ghost you. So many frogs.' But the boys of the villa will be pleased after Megan revealed she has stocked up on bikinis and sexy outfits for The Hideaway — the villa's private area where Islanders can spend time together alone. She said: 'Yeah, I have shopped till I dropped. I feel like you can't be too prepared with stuff like that. 'Better to be over prepared than underprepared. 'So I've got a lot of options for bikinis and night time.' But the Dublin-born beauty said she will be keeping things real by wearing her plastic retainer to bed after having braces during her university years. She said: 'That's always humbling when you're comfortable around a boy and you are clicking it out in the morning.' But of wearing braces, she added: 'I think a lot of boys actually quite liked it, which I was surprised by.' 'I've had a little flirt' Megan revealed that she has been given strict instructions by her mum to keep things PG in the villa. She said: 'My mum's been like, 'Meg, please do not have sex in the villa'. I don't think I would anyway — too exposing.' Megan, who currently works in telesales, said she has not had any office romances, but cannot resist charming her colleagues. She revealed: 'I've had a little flirt here and there because, you know, you have to make work life fun, but nothing has come of it.' Last Christmas, the beauty starred as one of the ugly step-sisters in a Christmas pantomime of Cinderella in Tewkesbury, Gloucs. She said: 'To be fair, they were meant to be Kardashian-esque and ugly on the inside. 'So I got to wear fabulous costumes. I had a ball.' Hopefully, in the villa, she will meet her own Prince Charming.

ITV Deal or No Deal star dealt huge blow minutes into charity special

Alex Brooker is facing off the Banker in tonight's Soccer Aid special A Deal or No Deal contestant has been dealt a huge blow, losing the £100K jackpot just minutes into the ITV show. Saturday Night's (7th June) Soccer Aid episode saw The Last Leg co-host Alex Brooker facing off the Banker, supported by a star-studded panel. ‌ In a bid to win up to £100,000 for UNICEF, Alex gunned for the cash prize assisted by celebrities, including former England player Jill Scott and Irish actor Emmett J. Scanlan. ‌ However, Alex was left devastated when he selected his brother Tom's box, hoping to strike blue. Initially optimistic about his choice, Alex told host Stephen Mulhern "I think my brother Tom, number eight, has got 50p in there [the box.]" Tom was equally confident, agreeing with his sibling that the box likely contained 50p. But the duo were dealt a huge blow as Tom opened his box to find £100,000 inside. The Soccer Aid team was visibly upset, and they were not alone. Viewers have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to echo their frustration at the huge loss. One penned: "Oh no! The £100K is gone," while a second voiced out: "£100K gone. I'm furious and raging." Other ITV fans were quick to question the star's process. "Why hasn't he got a system? Lucky numbers & bad numbers. Looks like he's just choosing randomly with no strategy," quipped one. Speaking to press, Conor revealed he'd sought advice from past winner Greg O'Shea. Islanders are forbidden from revealing their involvement in the series before entering the villa. Fellow Irish rugby player Greg, 30, won series five alongside Amber Gill. Conor shared: "I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island. "He just said 'be yourself, it's a really really really cool experience that not many people get. "So enjoy it and yeah take it day by day and if you can be yourself you can't really go too far wrong'. "So that's my plan. He was like 'my advice might be a bit different from others because I won'." He added: "I'm 25 and I've only had one relationship and it wasn't very long. "So I feel like I'm maybe doing something wrong or maybe I'm not in the right places. Love Island Stars Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint Split After Ibiza Getaway "So, hopefully that this is the right place and it should be you know because you're in a lovely villa surrounded by beautiful people, so I'm hoping that this is the one." Kyle has since spoken out about being axed saying: 'I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Masked thugs stormed a wake in Stafford and hacked at a dad with a blade in February. Ashman, 23, was one of two quizzed but released with no further action. Sources said the channel was unaware of the incident and he was not flagged as part of contestant checks. The victim, 38, nearly lost his arm. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept in for around two weeks. Another mourner was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people run over by a car during the 15 minutes of terror at a social club in Stafford. Ashman, who lives in the town, was one of two men to be nicked on suspicion of affray then bailed. Police confirmed that after the matter had been investigated the pair were released with no further action only last month. A source said: 'This was a horrific attack which could have been even worse. 'Ashman may have signed up to one of the biggest shows on TV with this hanging over his head.' It is not suggested that Ashman, whose job involves laying and repairing water pipes, was involved in the attack.
