Darwin Nunez's stance on Liverpool transfer exit as Man Utd twist emerges
Darwin Nunez could leave Liverpool this summer and Serie A champions Napoli are reportedly readying a bid for the striker, who struggled for regular starts last season Darwin Nunez is reportedly keen on a move to Napoli this summer, with the Serie A champions looking to strengthen their attack. Victor Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli after spending last season out on loan at Galatasaray and Antonio Conte wants more support for top scorer Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku scored 14 league goals as Napoli lifted their fourth league title, while back-up striker Giovanni Simeone managed just one and Giacomo Raspadori largely featured in a slightly deeper role or out wide. Napoli have been linked with a number of attacking options, including Nunez and Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund. However, it appears as though Napoli have decided to prioritise Nunez with the Athletic now reporting that they are set to make an official bid in the coming days. The report states that Nunez is 'open to moving to Naples' after falling out of favour under Arne Slot last season. The 26-year-old made just eight Premier League starts last season and came in for criticism from Slot over his attitude and work-rate. Speaking after Nunez missed a chance against Aston Villa in February, Slot said: "For the second time in a row I wasn't happy with his work effort, against Wolves and against Villa. "I always try to be honest with my players and be honest as I can to you guys as well where I always try to protect my players so I don't say he never worked hard. I know him differently. "I know him at Villa at home where he made a 100 metre sprint and scored a goal, I know him when he came on at City at home and was pressing really aggressively and wins the ball back and we score. "But I can't accept if a player doesn't give everything. That is clear. I can accept it once but twice was a bit too much." Liverpool are also said to be weighing up whether to replace Nunez, having already spent big this summer to sign Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong while a deal is also in place to sign Milos Kerkez for around £40m. The Reds have also seen Trent Alexander-Arnold leave for Real Madrid, while Caoimhin Kelleher has been sold to Brentford and Nat Phillips has joined Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion.

'You can go from indispensable to superfluous in a heartbeat'
There will be time to debate who has had a great tournament as the Club World Cup unfolds but one player has had a Jackson may not be a name to conjure familiarity for fans across the United States but he could be ready to disappear fairly soon from the Chelsea has managed to get stupidly sent off in two of his past four games. Against Newcastle in the Premier League, it nearly cost Chelsea a top five finish, a place in the Champions League and a cool £50m to £100m in earnings. Chelsea got lucky and qualified by the skin of their teeth, no thanks to Chelsea lose to Tunis and go out of this tournament, the suits upstairs at Stamford Bridge will not be impressed with another £5m leaking out of the club due to his news notifications on your clubOn top of that, Jackson has suddenly gone from the 'go-to' number nine, to merely the back up for new boy Liam Delap. I was at a Chelsea supporters' event on Saturday night and the entire group had already written off Jackson in favour of Delap - and the latter has only played a combined 90 minutes of football for the needs some love right now. He is a good striker and he was on an impressive upward learning curve before his injury earlier in the season. He is still one of the fastest strikers around, if not the most natural problem is, I am not sure this will be enough for Chelsea now. He could do a job for a good Italian, French or Spanish side. For Chelsea it will all come down to the money offered but it just shows the vicious nature of football. You can go from indispensable to superfluous in a heartbeat - or 90 minutes at up to read more from Pat Nevin in his Football Extra newsletter

'He had Kane in his pocket at the Euros' - fans on Bijol signing
We asked for your views on Jaka Bijol, who became Leeds' second signing of the summer transfer window on are some of your comments:David: This looks like a very good signing, he is very difficult to get past. He times the tackles well when going to ground. Not surprisingly he is also strong in the air and can score When I heard rumours he was coming to Elland Road I watched a few videos. Big, powerful, looks like another great type of defender we love, will put himself in the way of absolutely anything! Might pick up a card or two, but we can't complain if he's doing the job he's asked to Remember seeing him play against England at the Euros last year, had Harry Kane in his back also asked what positions Leeds should be looking at for their next We desperately need a top class goalkeeper and centre Leeds need a pair of strikers and a good no.10. Anything else will make the season very hard. Goals make points and 40 is our target!Mark: Now that Bijol is done, we need a goalkeeper, left back, number 10 and a centre forward. Not too much to ask for!
