FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Fairfield Police Department is clearing up some confusion surrounding screaming and running crowds at the McKinley Carnival at Jennings Beach Saturday night.

Screaming crowds were seen running from the beach area, police said, causing a greater confusion and panic among carnival goers. Police said that some kids were using 'flatulence spray,' also known as fart spray, near the carnival exit, causing groups to run from the smell.
They said that the prank was repeated multiple times throughout the night.
