Karisma Kapoor's ex-mother-in-law alleges 'murder, conspiracy' in son Sunjay Kapur's death in letter to UK police: Report
Karisma Kapoor
's former in-laws are making headlines again—this time, in connection with the sudden death of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur. His mother, Rani Kapur, has written a striking letter to UK authorities, alleging that his passing was not due to natural causes but part of a 'transnational conspiracy.
'
Rani has taken her family dispute overseas, writing a dramatic letter to UK authorities alleging a 'transnational conspiracy' behind her son Sunjay Kapur's death. According to an NDTV report, she claimed to have credible evidence pointing to foul play, insisting his death was neither accidental nor natural.
In the letter, she claimed, 'Credible and concerning evidence... that suggests his (i.e., Mr Kapur's) death may not have been accidental or natural, but may have involved foul play, including possibility of murder, abetment, conspiracy, fraud, and forgery.'
Priya Kapur named in shocking accusations
She has also alleged forgery, suspicious asset transfers, and questionable legal filings in connection with her son Sunjay Kapur's death. She suggested that individuals who stood to gain financially—specifically pointing to Sunjay's wife, Priya Kapur—may have been involved.
Call for formal criminal investigation
She told British authorities, 'There are compelling reasons to believe his death may have been facilitated or orchestrated as part of a coordinated transnational conspiracy, with the involvement of individuals and entities in the United Kingdom, India and maybe the United States.'

Kapur has urged UK authorities to formally investigate the circumstances surrounding her son Sunjay Kapur's death, alleging it may involve multiple criminal offences. In a detailed letter, she accused certain individuals—reportedly including Sunjay's wife Priya Kapur—of being part of a larger conspiracy involving murder, fraud, forgery, and financial misconduct. Citing what she claims is credible evidence of foul play, she has requested the immediate registration of a formal complaint and the launch of a criminal investigation under UK law.
Rani, mother of the late Sunjay Kapur, has also raised serious concerns with the board of Sona Comstar, alleging that her son's sudden death in London remains suspicious and unexplained. In her letter, she claimed that despite repeated efforts, she has been denied access to crucial documents and has received no satisfactory answers. She further stated that she has not consented to anyone's appointment to the board of her son's company.
Adding to the gravity of her claims, Rani Kapur said she has been left financially stranded since her son's passing, with no access to her own accounts.
A mother's plea for answers and legacy
In a later interview with ANI, Rani expressed her deep sense of loss and the need for closure regarding her son Sunjay Kapur's death. She said she still doesn't know what truly happened to him and emphasised that, despite her age, she remembers how the family business—Sona Comstar—was built with dedication and sacrifice. Rani Kapur said she feels a responsibility to protect the legacy she helped create with her husband and ensure it is passed on as he intended.

'Repeatedly punched and kicked': 2 Punjab commandos assault journalist; suspended
BATALA : A disturbing video has emerged showing two Punjab Police commandos brutally assaulting a journalist in broad daylight on a busy street in Batala. The incident, which has sparked outrage, was caught on camera and widely circulated on social media. In the 2-minute 16-second clip, two men—one in police uniform and the other in civilian clothes—are seen repeatedly punching and kicking a man, identified as journalist Balwinder Singh. The assault takes place in full public view, with bystanders watching helplessly. During the assault, Balwinder collapses into a water-filled pothole and lies motionless as the attackers walk away. Shockingly, the man in civilian clothing returns to kick the victim again. Moments later, the uniformed officer also returns, seemingly to check on the victim, before walking away. Singh remains motionless on the road while passersby continue to look on. Eventually, a group of locals rushes to his aid, but the journalist appears unresponsive. Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, Suhail Qasim Mir, said that the two attackers have been identified as Sub-Inspectors Mandeep Singh and Surjit, from the 5th Battalion of the Punjab Police Commandos, stationed in Bathinda. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo He added that they had been deployed to Batala for law and order duty in wake of Independence Day. He further informed that the commander of the battalion has also been informed to initiate disciplinary action. Providing further details, Sanjiv Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Batala City, said that preliminary investigations revealed the two officers were staying at a hotel in Batala during their deployment. It was there that journalist Balwinder approached them and asked some questions—reportedly in connection with their presence . The exact nature of the conversation remains under investigation, but it appears that the line of questioning did not sit well with the officers which led to the heated exchange, the situation escalated, and the two sub-inspectors allegedly assaulted the journalist. Meanwhile, both the officers have been suspended, said Sanjiv.
