Dairy Queen blizzard sales to raise money for children's healthcare Thursday

Thursday marks Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen restaurants across the country. The money will benefit Children's Hospital Foundations. For the 23rd year, Dairy Queen is teaming up with children's hospital foundations across Canada including right here in Windsor for Miracle Treat Day. Miracle Treat Day Windsor Lisa Harms with her son, Oakley, seen in Windsor, Ont. on Aug. 13, 2025. (Gary Archibald/CTV News Windsor) On Thursday, your blizzard ice cream purchase could help change a child's life. Net proceeds from every blizzard treat sold will support the children's health foundation — helping improve care for children receiving treatment in our community. The best part? Every dollar raised in Windsor stays in Windsor. Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised over $55 million nationwide from Miracle Treat Day. Lisa Harms' five-year-old son Oakley is one of the ambassadors for this year's campaign. Harms is grateful for the ongoing community support from the public and Dairy Queen. 'Well, we feel like London Health Science Centre is our home because Oakley has been there for so long,' said Harms. 'So, to just be able to support the hospital and know that the funds are going there to help kids like Oakley is so important to us.'
