Adirondack Announces Resignation Of Head Coach MacArthur
The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, have announced that Pete MacArthur has resigned as head coach of the team to pursue other opportunities.
MacArthur has been an integral part of the Thunder organization both on and off the ice. As a player, he represented the team with passion and consistency over four seasons, amassing 175 points (3rd all-time), 122 assists (2nd all-time), and 202 games played (4th all-time).
His leadership continued behind the bench, where he served as head coach for three seasons. This season, Adirondack finished 26-41-3-2, good for 57 points.
MacArthur guided the team to the Kelly Cup Playoffs twice — including a remarkable run to the Eastern Conference Final last season.
Decisions like these are always difficult, but MacArthur looks back fondly on his time with Adirondack.
'What an honor it has been to play and coach for Adirondack,' MacArthur said in a statement. 'It's never easy moving on, but it is time for family to come first. We are forever grateful for the amazing memories and countless friendships we have made here. We will miss the fans and the community who support the team so strongly and make our arena truly one of a kind.'
'Having the chance to play and coach in your backyard is a privilege that I never took for granted and will cherish forever,' MacArthur added. 'Thank you to everyone who has made the ride so special.'
The Clifton Park, New York native served as the team's captain for three seasons before moving behind the bench. Following four years at Boston University, MacArthur played 190 games in the American Hockey League for Bridgeport, Rockford, San Antonio, Peoria and Lake Erie and totaled 29 goals and 57 assists for 86 points.

The results from the 2025 Calder Trophy voting for the NHL's Rookie of the Year were announced on Tuesday with Montreal's Lane Hutson taking home top honors. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman chided Paul Bissonnette's 'ridiculous' concern over the believed advantage Florida hockey teams have due to the lack of income tax in the state. Bissonnette, who played in the NHL and minor league hockey before launching his media career, had previously expressed the concern following the Panthers' Eastern Conference Final series-clinching victory over the Hurricanes on TNT. Lions Announce Plans For Kelly Cup Championship Parade
The Trois-Rivieres Lions are still reveling in their Kelly Cup Championship after a 4-1 victory over the Toledo Walleye on Saturday. They took the series in five games en route to their first title since entering the ECHL prior to the 2021-22 season. The Montreal Canadiens affiliate is inviting fans to join the celebration on Sunday, June 15 for the official Championship Parade. Advertisement The parade will begin at 12:15 Pm ET, departing from rue du Stade near Stade Quillorama, then continue along rue de l'Hippodrome, turning onto rue des Forges, followed by rue Royale, and finally heading toward the port area via rue St-Georges. The procession will conclude near the banks of the St. Lawrence River at approximately 1 Pm . A stage will be set up on site where members of the organization will address the crowd. Fans in attendance will have the chance to meet the players from the Lions' championship-winning roster and see the three trophies hoisted by the team: The E.A. And, of course, the Kelly Cup, which will parade through the streets alongside the players.
