Lundi states that the fire was discovered by a neighbour who had gotten up to use the restroom around 1 AM on Sunday, May 25. She then smelled the fire fumes and upon checking she found the family's rondavel engulfed in flames.
'It was on Saturday, May 24, and based on the information the neighbour provided we can safely suggest that the fire started as early as 11 PM the previous night, but the neighbour only noticed at 1 AM following morning. She says she was getting up to pee when she smelled fire fumes and decided to go check as she thought it could've been coming from the cemetery, only to see that it was coming from my mom's house, and she then called for help. So, according to us as the family and the police assessing the scene we can definitely say the fire started around 11 PM,' he emphasised.

Lundi says that the family believes that their mother was likely attacked before being set alight, citing the fact that she was found at the center of the rondavel lifeless, rather than near the door where she would have likely tried to escape had it just been fire only at play.
'The reason we believe she was most likely attacked before they sealed her fate is mainly because we found her at the center of the rondavel burnt beyond recognition as though they took her out of bed and put her there,' he said.
He further mentioned the strong smell of paraffin at the scene further supports their suspicions that it's an arson attack and not anything else.
'When we arrived at the scene we were welcomed with a strong smell of what we can only assume for now is paraffin or maybe gasoline, which supports our claims that indeed she was attacked,' he added.

Lundi mentions that the victim was sleeping with her 1-year-old grandchild at the time, who miraculously survived the tragic ordeal as she was found on the side of the bed as though the perpetrators may have deliberately set the child aside, reason that further supports their claims of an attack as he says they know she would've strived to protect the child from the fire had it not been premeditated.
'The 1-year-old was saved from the fire by people who arrived at the scene before it consumed the whole rondavel and was just on one side, but fortunately enough for her, she didn't sustain no injuries,' he said.

The family is still grappling with the circumstances surrounding the incident, as they claim that their mother was a well-liked person with no known enemies.
'She didn't have any fights with anyone, and she wasn't in any debt where we could maybe say it's people she owed, no, nothing like that and we're in a state of confusion as to who she wronged this much to die so brutally,' Lundi said, expressing the family's confusion and pain.
Lundi concluded by saying that as they prepare to lay their mother to rest on June 7, they're still seeking answers and justice with the police still investigating as no one has been arrested yet, he also mentioned that the family no longer feels safe after this horrific incident.
'We're scared, and don't know what to expect next and we must now constantly look over our shoulders,' he concluded.

Trump Amplifies Outlandish Robot Biden Conspiracy Theory
President Trump shared an outlandish conspiracy theory on social media on Saturday night saying former President Joseph R. Biden had been 'executed in 2020' and replaced by a robotic clone, the latest in a string of dark, fringe material amplified by the president to his millions of followers. Mr. Trump reposted a false rant that another user had made on the president's social media platform, Truth Social, just after 10 p.m. on Saturday. The White House did not respond to requests for comment on the post about Mr. Biden, whom Mr. Trump has targeted for criticism almost daily since the start of his second term. The president has blamed Mr. Biden for all manner of societal ills and assailed his mental acuity, including with the specious theory that Mr. Biden's aides used an autopen to enact policies and issue pardons without Mr. Biden's knowledge. (Mr. Trump has acknowledged that his administration uses the autopen system on occasion.) Mr. Trump has long had a penchant for sharing debunked or baseless theories online, but his embrace of conspiracies is not limited to social media. He has also elevated false claims inside the White House and surrounded himself with cabinet officials promoting such theories. Last month, while sitting next to the president of South Africa in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump claimed that white South African farmers were victims of mass killings and displayed an image intended to back up his assertion; the image was actually of the conflict in eastern Congo. Mr. Trump has falsely asserted that white South Africans are victims of genocide, even though police statistics do not show that white people in the nation are any more vulnerable than other groups. Mr. Trump's first four years in the White House were filled with false or misleading statements — according to one tally, he made 30,573 of them, or 21 a day on average — and he repeatedly shared conspiracy theories in the lead-up to the 2024 election. A New York Times analysis of thousands of Mr. Trump's social media posts and reposts over a six-month period in 2024 found that at least 330 of them described both a false, secretive plot against Mr. Trump or the American people and a specific entity supposedly responsible for it. They included suggestions that the F.B.I. had ordered his assassination and accusations that government officials had orchestrated the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. Mr. Trump's repost of the robot conspiracy theory came a day after Mr. Biden told reporters that he was feeling good after beginning treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Mr. Trump has suggested that Mr. Biden's diagnosis last month was not new and had been concealed from the public.

Woman Is Shocked After Finding ‘Affectionate' Photos of Her Partner with His Ex on His Laptop: ‘Why Keep Them?'
A Mumsnet user is seeking opinions on whether it's normal for her partner to keep old photos of himself with his ex-girlfriend 'He said he doesn't want to delete them as they were part of his experience in life,' she said of the photos on his laptop A reader replied that she's being unreasonable and that 'the problem is you think he needs your permission'A woman is having a complicated relationship with her partner's laptop. The girlfriend explained on the community forum Mumsnet that she stumbled upon photos of her boyfriend with his ex on his computer — a triggering moment that she admitted 'honestly doesn't sit well with me.' 'I just want to know what the norm is/is acceptable in regards to keeping pictures from previous relationships,' she wrote. 'He gave me his laptop to view some pictures we took today and a picture with his ex popped up. To be fair, he quickly immediately closed it. It wasn't a casual picture.' 'It was one where they were showing affection on a holiday. It did make me feel some type of way as we were on holiday too,' she added. 'When I brought it up he said he doesn't want to delete them as they were part of his experience in life and that he wants to be able to look back at them when he's old as part of his experience in life.' She noted that she might just be feeling 'silly' about it all and that he's 'definitely not getting back' with his ex-girlfriend. 'I just don't want pictures of him being affectionate or romantic with another girl popping up randomly in my face,' she confessed, before detailing what she might tell him to potentially reach a compromise. 'I thought of suggesting he files them in a separate folder away from his main one or archive it somewhere, but I don't even think that's right,' she said. 'Why keep them for God's sake if the relationship has ended?' In a Mumsnet poll under her post, 88% of the more than 150 voters selected 'You are being unreasonable' as their voting option. 'He told you why,' one person pointed out. 'He wants to have them when he is older to look back on as part of life's experience. The problem is you think he needs your permission, or to offer a reason that you get to decide is acceptable. You are being off the wall horrible and super controlling.' is now available in the Apple App Store! 'There is no need to eradicate every trace of one's former life if your relationship is rock solid,' another reader replied. A third user liked the woman's suggestion but agreed with most readers, commenting, 'Filing the photos away so they don't pop up randomly on the screen is fine. Asking him to delete them is not reasonable.' Read the original article on People
