Trichy: Thuraiyur govt arts and science which was announced by chief minister

will function from Sengunthar higher secondary school from this academic year.
It will function temporarily from this govt-aided school until a permanent building is built. Seven teachers from Musiri and Thanthai Periyar govt arts & science colleges will be deputed here.
The Thuraiyur college is expected to help economically weak students avoid travelling long distances to a college or shelling out more money in a private college in the vicinity.

Air India plane crash: Dreamliner's FDR and CVR located, says govt statement
Statements by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Sunday said that the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of Air India flight AI 171 had been located. Investigators had earlier found the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), one of the black boxes, at the crash site. The statements came on a day when the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, P K Mishra, visited Ahmedabad to assess the situation following the June 12 crash that killed 241 passengers and crew, and many others on the ground. The PIB release said: 'The AAIB (Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau) has launched a detailed investigation, and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is conducting a parallel probe under international protocols since the aircraft is American-made. Officials confirmed that the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) have been located and secured.' Mishra reviewed the accident site near the B J Medical College, Meghaninagar, where senior officials from the state government, the AAIB and the Airports Authority of India briefed him on the sequence of events and immediate response measures. Mishra also met bereaved families and injured victims, observed DNA sample matching and directed authorities to provide full assistance to those affected. He held a meeting at Ahmedabad Circuit House and discussed relief and investigation efforts with senior officials from the central and state governments, the AAIB and the Airports Authority of India. The Principal Secretary was accompanied by PMO officials Tarun Kapoor, Advisor to the PM, and Mangesh Ghildiyal, Deputy Secretary, PMO.

NEW DELHI: Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, PK Mishra, visited Ahmedabad on Sunday to assess the progress of the investigation into the Air India AI 171 crash and meet the families of the victims. He reviewed the ongoing relief efforts and the support being provided to the bereaved confirmed that the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) have been located and secured. During his visit, the government stated that Mishra reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directive to ensure swift relief, a thorough investigation, and comprehensive assistance for the victims and their families. Mishra visited the accident site near BJ Medical College, Meghani Nagar, where senior officials from the Gujarat administration, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), and Airports Authority of India briefed him on the sequence of events and the immediate response measures. At Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, Mishra met family members of those who lost their lives in the crash, observed the DNA matching process, and directed authorities to provide complete assistance. He emphasised the need for a seamless and compassionate approach. He also met injured victims and instructed hospital officials to prioritise their treatment and recovery. Mishra later visited the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Gandhinagar, where he reviewed the DNA sampling work.

Air India flight's 2nd black box recovered; cockpit voice recorder to aid probe
The second black box of the Air India flight AI171 which crashed on June 12 has been recovered, according to officials investigating the incident, reported PTI. The recovery of the cockpit voice recorder, as well as the flight data recorder which was found earlier, will help identify the possible cause of the deadly crash which has killed around 270 people, including 241 out of 242 people onboard.
