Israel strikes Iran: Delhi airport operations normal, says DIAL; some flights affected
NEW DELHI:
Delhi airport
continues to operate normally, but several flights have been affected due to changing airspace conditions over Iran, Iraq and nearby regions, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in an advisory issued on Friday.
The disruption follows Israel's military strike on Iran late Thursday, with explosions reported across Tehran. Iran's state media confirmed the blasts, while Israel's defence minister called it a "preemptive strike" amid escalating tensions between the two nations.
"Delhi Airport operations are running smoothly. However, due to evolving airspace conditions over Iran, Iraq and neighbouring regions, some flight schedules have been impacted," DIAL said in an official statement.
The advisory comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following Israel's military strike on Iran.
DIAL urged passengers to stay updated. "Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights," DIAL said.
It also cautioned travelers against misinformation saying, "we strongly urge all passengers to rely only on official sources for accurate and up-to-date information."
Passengers scheduled to travel internationally are advised to check flight timings in advance and stay in touch with their airlines.

'Goosebumps': Thai Singer's Seat 11A Miracle Mirrors Sole Survivor's Story From Air India Crash
Last Updated: Thai singer Ruangsak James Loychusak was in seat 11A, the same seat which was occupied by Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the only survivor of the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. Is 11A truly a saviour? Amid ongoing discussions about the supposedly lucky seat 11A following the AI-171 flight crash in Ahmedabad, a Thai singer has revealed his survival of a fatal plane crash while occupying the same seat as the sole British survivor of the Air India disaster. Ruangsak Loychusak detailed his experience aboard Thai Airways flight TG261, travelling from Bangkok to India. The aircraft stalled and crashed into a swamp, resulting in 101 fatalities. Thai singer Ruangsak James Loychusak, now 47, survived the 1998 Thai Airways crash. Recalling the incident, he revealed a striking coincidence: he was seated in 11A, the same seat occupied by Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the recent Air India crash in Ahmedabad. Loychusak wrote on Facebook: 'The lone survivor of the plane crash in India was sitting in the same seat number as me, 11A. Goosebumps." Ruangsak revealed that the crash left him with lasting trauma. He struggled for a decade with aerophobia (fear of flying), social avoidance, and anxiety triggered by clouds. 'I avoided speaking to anyone and always stared outside the window, blocking anyone from closing it to maintain my sense of safety. If I saw dark clouds or a rainstorm outside, I would feel terrible, like I was in hell," the MailOnline quoted him as saying. He added: 'I can still remember the sounds, smells, and even the taste of the water in the swamp the plane crashed into. For a long time, I would keep the feelings to myself." Although Ruangsak no longer possesses his original boarding pass, newspaper reports confirm his seat number as 11A. He offered condolences to the families affected by the recent Air India tragedy, stating that surviving the previous crash gave him a 'second life". The Boeing Dreamliner crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. Of the 242 people on board, Ramesh was the only survivor. Flight Attendant, Influencer, Family's Heartbeat: 26-Year-Old Who Died In Crash
She was the heartbeat of her house and very popular on social media too, with over 73,000 followers on Instagram. The 26-year-old was a flight attendant with Air India and her life, which had already taken off and was cruising at a high altitude, was about to soar even higher with a wedding planned for next year. Then the Air India flight AI-171 crashed and exploded in a fireball in Ahmedabad on Thursday, taking her life and dreams - and her family's heartbeat - with it. Relatives remembered Roshni Songhare, who lived with her younger brother Vignesh and her parents Rajendra and Shobha on Rajaji Path in Dombivli near Mumbai, as bright and determined. She pursued a flight attendant course, began her career with another airline and later joined Air India. She loved international assignments and was excited when she left home to be part of the 12-member crew, including two pilots, on AI-171 from Ahmedabad to London, relatives recalled. The family was also happy because she had met an officer in the merchant navy through a family acquaintance and was set to be engaged to him later this year. "She was the heartbeat of this home. We were getting her engaged in November and married in March," a close relative was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. "She was so happy to be flying again. We were all looking forward to her wedding. Everything was going right," said her uncle Praveen Sukhdere.. After finding out about the crash, family members tried to contact her and her father and brother rushed to Ahmedabad when they couldn't get through. Then the news broke that the flight, which had 242 people on board, had only one survivor - a passenger who managed to get out of an emergency exit just before the plane caught fire.
