Woman taken to hospital after County Durham crash sparks air ambulance response
Police, paramedics, and the air ambulance were called to Craghead, near Stanley, on Thursday (August 14) after a crash around 8am.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) confirmed it sent its helicopter to the scene just before 9am, arriving in 15 minutes.
Paramedics assessed and treated the woman before she was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries and current condition are not known.
Both vehicles have since been recovered.
A GNAAS spokesperson said: "Our critical care team was activated at 8.54am to reports of a road traffic collision in Craghead, Stanley.
"We had a paramedic and doctor on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 9.09am.

"Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient."
A Durham Police spokesperson added: "Police were called at 8am this morning to a two-vehicle collision in Craghead, Stanley.
"A woman was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries. Both vehicles have been recovered."

2 injured after 3 transport trucks collide near Morrisburg
Two people have been seriously injured after three transport trucks collided on Highway 401 just west of the Morrisburg, Ont., exit, police say. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes at around 10:20 a.m. Friday, according to a news release Saturday from Ontario Provincial Police.
