COFICERT: AD Ports Group Successfully Renews MSI 20000 Certification for the quality of its financial governance

In 2021, AD Ports Group became the first organisation in the Middle East operating in ports, industrial zones, and logistics to achieve the MSI 2000 certification, highlighting its commitment to towards excellence. Three years later by renewing its certification cycle, AD Ports Group is thus pursuing its process of continuous improvement and refinement of its financial governance, through regular MSI 20000 reviews and evaluations, which serve as essential internal management tools.
The certification was awarded by the French certification body COFICERT, word leader in financial and non-financial certifications, operating in over 40 countries across four continents.
AD Ports Group's management received their second MSI 20000 compliance certificate at the group's headquarters from an official delegation of the French certification body COFICERT, led by Mr. Cristian Mocanu, Secretary General of COFICERT, Mr. Souheil Skander, CEO of COFICERT MENA, and in the presence of representatives from TAG-Consulting (Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Consulting), the technical partner for MSI 20000 certification in the Middle East.
MSI 20000 is the international standard dedicated to the quality of financial governance for companies and institutions, regulated by the International Group for Sustainable Finance (IGSF). It offers a comprehensive model for measuring and evaluating financial stability and performance, based on sector-specific normative benchmarking. The certification operates on a three-year cycle, ensuring that companies continuously uphold high standards of financial governance and performance over time.

Renault considering making drones in Ukraine
AFP | Paris French automaker Renault said yesterday that the government had asked it to look at making drones in Ukraine, but it had not yet made a decision. 'We have been contacted by the defence ministry. Exchanges have been made, (but) no decision has been at this stage because we are waiting on project specifics from the ministry,' a Renault spokesperson told AFP. A report by broadcaster Franceinfo had earlier said, without citing sources, that Renault was to open drone production lines 'dozens or hundreds of kilometres from the front line'. Ukraine relies heavily on drones in its fight against Russia's invading forces. On June 1, it used over 100 drones to strike Russian military aircraft deep inside Russian territory, in an operation called 'Spider's Web'. The news that Renault is considering building drones in Ukraine came two days after French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced that a 'big company making French cars' was going to join up with a French defence manufacturer to develop production lines in Ukraine 'able to produce drones'. The drones would be used by the Ukrainian military 'but we will also have our own French weapons benefit from constant tactical and operational training in real-world conditions,' Lecornu said Friday. The minister noted that the Ukrainian military was better in its use and development of drones that its French counterpart. The French government holds a 15 percent stake in Renault.

US Refuses Air Cover For European 'Reassurance Force' In Postwar Ukraine
The British and French-led effort to establish a 'coalition of the willing' to stand up to Russia and defend Ukraine just hit another major roadblock, as Bloomberg is reporting Wednesday the US has effectively vetoed a plan to provide American air defenses to back a 'reassurance force' for postwar Ukraine. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been insisting that US-backed air defenses are key to any future permanent settlement plans for ending the war. Western proposals for ending the war have all featured foreign-backed and monitored security guarantees for Ukraine. On this, Starmer had said back in February that 'There must be a US backstop' and that the 'US security guarantee is the only way to effectively deter Russia from attacking Ukraine again.' After Western billions already sunk into keeping Ukraine's military and civic infrastructure afloat, the UK and France are also seeking from President Trump pledges of future air power, and border surveillance and intelligence. The Europeans also envision a strong, permanent security bulwark backed by the United States along NATO's eastern flank. Yet, President Trump has repeatedly warned allies that if NATO countries don't pay their fair share they won't be protected. This despite European leaders as well as some US politicians expressing recent concern that the Atlantic alliance is becoming weaker than ever, and that Article 5 collective defense is in peril. Trump has lashed out at NATO countries for not even meeting their current two percent spending goal while the unfair burden has long fallen United States. 'We appreciate the work that the allies, particularly France and the United Kingdom together with Germany and others have undertaken to develop the coalition of the willing,' US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said at a press breifing Brussels on Wednesday. 'We are counting on all our European allies to continue taking the leadership position in contributing military resources and providing the political capital to make security guarantees a reality.' All of this comes as it was only on Tuesday that Dutch slapped down a proposal to increase defense spending to 3.5% of gross domestic product (GDP), key to NATO's capability targets, in a non-binding motion. AD Ports, key firms eye e-methanol bunkering facility in Kezad
AD Ports Group, a leading facilitator of global trade, logistics, and industry, has signed a collaboration agreement with Masdar, Advario and the CMA CGM Group to explore the feasibility for the development of a state-of-the-art e-methanol bunkering and export facility at Khalifa Port and Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – Kezad Group. The project will provide critical infrastructure to complete the supply value chain and bridge commercial e-methanol production with key off-takers, such as CMA CGM, in support of accelerating the decarbonisation of the global shipping industry. The agreement also reinforces the UAE-France strategic partnership, fostered through the High-Level Business Council held annually between both countries, further leveraging mobilisation of the private sectors to deliver sustainable economic development and partnerships.
