Talking about what his mother Rati Agnihotri has been up to, Tanuj Virwani revealed she had gone to Poland during the pandemic where she opened a few restaurants.
Set to win hearts with his role in Netflix's upcoming action thriller, Rana Naidu Part 2, Tanuj Virwani recently opened up about his mother and veteran actress Rati Agnihotri. The actress forayed into the Hindi film industry with the film Ek Duuje Ke Liye opposite Kamal Haasan and went on to collaborate with many superstars to deliver big Bollywood blockbusters. Lately, she has been away from the screens. Now, her son Tanuj has revealed she might not act again.
In a recent conversation with Zoom, Tanuj Virwani was asked whether he would share screen space with his mother Rati. Replying, he revealed the veteran actress has retired from acting. The actor said, 'My mom is more or less retired from acting. I don't know if people will get a chance to see us together on the screen. She is enjoying her life."
Talking further, Tanuj also revealed what her mother has been up to. He added, 'Prior to the pandemic, she had gone to Poland, where my maasi lives. They opened a few restaurants there. Now, she is back in town. She is enjoying her life in the 60s. I don't know if she is going to act again. If she does, we will definitely try to do something together."
Tanuj Virwani made his acting debut in 2013 with the film Luv U Soniyo. Since then, he has appeared in several Hindi films and web series, including One Night Stand, Inside Edge and Code M. Looking ahead, he is set to portray a key role in Rana Naidu Part 2, which also stars Rana Daggubati and veteran actor Venkatesh in the key roles.
In another chat with Moneycontrol, Tanuj opened about his experience of working with Rana Daggubati. All praises for the Baahubali actor, Tanuj said, 'He's not one of those guys who just gives a shot and goes back to the van. He hangs out on set. He's very affable. He makes the new guys coming on set like I was a newcomer on the set. He made us all feel very, very welcome. It was truly an honour and privilege working with him."
Rana Naidu 2 will begin streaming on Netflix from June 13. The upcoming season also features Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi besides Rana Daggubati and Tanuj.

David Beckham awarded knighthood

David Beckham's knighthood is the culmination of years of tireless efforts to transcend football and turn himself into a global icon at the "intersection of sport, fashion and business." He had long dreamed of becoming a sir and King Charles III made it a reality when he announced his birthday's honours list on Friday, marking the end of a decades-long journey travelled with his Spice Girl wife Victoria, creator of the eponymous fashion brand. The honour, one of the highest bestowed by the UK state, "is a powerful symbolic marker", Marie Agnes Parmentier, professor of marketing at the University of Montreal and author of several papers on "Posh and Becks", explained to AFP. It "reinforces his image as a respectable, committed, and, first and foremost, British man," she added. The knighthood could present new opportunities for the 50-year-old former Manchester United and Real Madrid player, "particularly in diplomatic, charitable or political spheres", said Parmentier. The former free-kick ace, from a modest East London background, diversified his career after retiring from football in 2013, but success was the result of planning long before he hung up his boots. "I knew my career was going to end at some point and I wanted to have a career after football," he said in the documentary series "Beckham", which aired on Netflix in 2023. At the height of his football career, Beckham was signing deals with top clothing and beauty brands, building an audience that cut across gender, age and nationality -- becoming the first England player to crack the US market. The successful brand was built on his always immaculate appearance and nearly-always exemplary off-field behaviour, coupled with an unwavering drive to become a pioneer. This required a certain amount of courage, given that English football in the 1990s was generally the preserve of no-nonsense lads more interested in the pub than the catwalk. His appearance in a sarong during the 1998 World Cup, revelations that he used make-up, and his eccentric hairstyles were all feverishly gobbled up by the UK's tabloid press. Beckham is still capitalising on the fascination, almost 30 years later. He unveiled his first collection for Hugo Boss in April, is the founder of the Inter Miami football club and the "Studio 99" production company, and has been a UNICEF ambassador for 20 years. He is now best known not for football, "but for being Beckham, the brand", said sociologist Ellis Cashmore. It is a brand worth £500 million ($676 million), according to The Times newspaper's 2025 ranking. The Netflix show exposed the couple to an emerging younger audience, cementing their fame for the foreseeable future. Beckham "embodies a celebrity at the intersection of sport, fashion, entertainment and business," explained Parmentier. The couple's enduring visibility "is based on a sophisticated media strategy and an ability to embody universal values such as work, family and style," she added. But it has been a long and bumpy road, Cashmore pointed out. In 1998, Beckham was called the most hated man in England after he petulantly kicked out at Argentina's Diego Simeone during their World Cup round of 16 game. Beckham was harshly sent off and England lost to their bitter rivals in a penalty shoot-out. Those who had bitten their tongue about his off-field flamboyance gave full vent to their feelings. National headlines the next day included "10 Heroic Lions, One Stupid Boy" (Daily Mirror) and "You're Just A Joke Becks" (Daily Mail). Months of "hell" followed, with death threats, spitting and boos accompanying Beckham wherever he went. "Wherever I went I got abused, every single day," he said. "I find it hard to talk through what I went through because it was so extreme. The whole country hated me." But the ordeal only sharpened Beckham's focus. A year later, he finished second in the Ballon d'Or as he helped Manchester United claim an unprecedented treble, winning the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. It was often said that Beckham's career seemed to be scripted by a movie writer, never more so than when the fallen idol took his revenge by scoring the winning goal against perennial rivals Argentina in the 2002 World Cup, redeeming his national hero status. The royal family were quick to embrace him, inviting Beckham to the weddings of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011 and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. Previous rumours of an impending knighthood came to nothing, but his star once again rose in 2022 after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. While other celebrities came under fire for skipping the queue to view her coffin, Beckham lined up with members of the public for almost 12 hours to pay his respects. Since then, it has seemed that "Sir David" was only a matter of time in coming.

'I saw the same josh in Sushant that I had,' Shatrughan Sinha says Sushant Singh Rajput's loss was a National tragedy

On the solemn occasion of Sushant Singh Rajput 's fifth death anniversary, veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha opens up with rare emotion and candour. In a heartfelt conversation with ETimes, he reflects on the enduring pain of Sushant's untimely demise, the mystique that surrounds it even today, and the legacy the young star left behind. Drawing parallels to his own struggles in the industry, Sinha offers not just memories, but also wisdom for young dreamers chasing stardom in Mumbai. Shatruji, five years have passed since we lost Sushant Singh Rajput. What a loss! The country has still not gotten over it. Some tragedies are such that even time cannot heal the pain. Sushant's death remains a mystery? It's the love of the people that keeps his death shrouded in mystery. People tend to mystify the passing of those they deeply love—especially when they die young—like Guru Dutt , Meena Kumari , and everyone's favourite, Sridevi. Do you empathize more with this loss? Sushant's loss is not a regional tragedy. It was a national one. But yes, I do identify with his struggle to find a place in the Hindi film industry without a godfather. When I arrived in Mumbai, I had no contacts and no idea about how to proceed. I just had a few hundred rupees in my pocket and endless josh (enthusiasm). I saw that same Josh in Sushant. The films he did are a legacy that's hard to ignore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Infertile Man Visits Orphanage And Hears, 'Hi Daddy.' Keep working hard. But give yourself a timeline. If things don't work out in 4–5 years, go back home. Re-set your dream. Would you recommend a biopic on Sushant? He doesn't need it.

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 8: Akshay Kumars Movie Continues Its Steady Run, Collects Rs 6 Crore

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh's Housefull 5 has crossed the Rs 130 crore mark at the box office. On day 8, the film minted Rs 6 crore at the box office. With this, the total collection of the Tarun Mansukhani directorial stands at Rs 133.25 Crore, reported Sacnilk. According to the report, on June 13, Housefull 5 had an overall 11.71% Hindi Occupancy. It received the maximum occupancy from the night shows at about 16.85%, followed by the afternoon shows at 12.73%, evening shows at 11.74%, and the lowest from the morning shows saw just 5.51%. The surprising part of the movie is that the climax has two versions - Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each with a different twist, adding more to the enthusiasm. The second part had an overall 8.18% Hindi Occupancy on the second Friday, as per the same report. Although such a decline during weekdays is quite common, it has a high chance of regaining its momentum on Saturday and Sunday. Even according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala and Firuzi Khan under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, is likely to make major earnings during the second weekend due to the absence of any other big film releases. A day earlier, Taran Adarsh, in a post on Instagram, discussed Housefull 5 's first-week collection and wrote, '# Housefull5 continues to remain consistent on weekdays, maintaining a steady trend. The film is now eyeing Rs 133 cr [+/-] in its Week 1,' adding, 'The absence of any major release this Friday is likely to work in its favour… Expect another jump in business over the weekend.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Taran Adarsh (@taranadarsh) Besides Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, the thriller comedy has a star-studded cast. It includes Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangda Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, and Johnny Lever in key roles. Released on June 6, Housefull 5 follows an intriguing plot wherein multiple imposters claim to be the son of a recently deceased billionaire, and they compete for his fortune while aboard a luxury cruise ship.
