AMD and HUMAIN to Build $10B AI Network from Saudi Arabia
AMD and HUMAIN, a new AI enterprise based in Saudi Arabia, have announced a major partnership to build what they describe as the world's most open and scalable AI infrastructure.
The project will be powered by a global network of AMD-based AI computing centers, with facilities extending from Saudi Arabia to the United States. According to the announcement, the two companies plan to invest up to $10 billion over the next five years.
They aim to deploy 500 megawatts of AI compute capacity. The infrastructure will be designed to support AI workloads across enterprise, startup, and sovereign markets. AMD said the system would be open by design and accessible at scale.
HUMAIN will oversee the complete delivery of the project. This includes hyperscale data centers, sustainable power systems, and global fiber connectivity. Meanwhile, AMD will provide its full range of AI compute products and the ROCm open software ecosystem.
Dr. Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, stated that the investment marks a major step forward in global AI development. She added that AMD is working to enable the future of AI 'everywhere,' bringing open, high-performance computing to developers and enterprises worldwide.
HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin described the collaboration as a global invitation to AI innovators. He said the aim is to democratize AI access by removing infrastructure barriers.
Initial deployments have already begun in select regions. The companies expect to reach multi-exaflop capacity by early 2026. This will be supported by next-generation AI silicon, modular data centers, and an open software platform.
Key components of AMD's AI stack include: AMD Instinct™ GPUs for memory and inference performance
AMD EPYC™ CPUs for compute density and efficiency
AMD Pensando™ DPUs for secure, programmable networking
AMD Ryzen™ AI for edge computing
AMD ROCm ecosystem supporting major AI frameworks
The deal is seen as a strategic move for Saudi Arabia, aligning with its national goals to become a global hub for AI innovation.
