Rose Docherty, 75, was arrested after police were called to reports of an anti-abortion protest in Hardgate Road in Glasgow, near the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), in February.
She was holding a sign that read: 'Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.'

(Image: Image: Newsquest) The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said it has decided to take no further action at this time.
A COPFS spokesperson said: 'The procurator fiscal received a report relating to a 75-year-old female and an incident said to have occurred on February 19, 2025.
'Professional prosecutors from COPFS considered the report. All Scotland's prosecutors operate independently of political influence.
'After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence, it was decided that there should be no further action taken at this time.
'The Crown reserves the right to take proceedings in relation to this incident in the future.'
Ms Docherty, who was supported by the legal team at Alliance Defending Freedom International, welcomed the news.
She said: 'This is a victory not just for me, but for everyone in Scotland who believes we should be free to hold a peaceful conversation.
'I stood with love and compassion, ready to listen to anyone who wanted to talk. Criminalising kindness has no place in a free society.'

The Safe Access Zones Act was overwhelmingly passed by MSPs last year and came into force in September.
The legislation prevents anti-abortion protesters from gathering within 200 metres of clinics where terminations are carried out.
Before the law change, hospitals such as the QEUH in Glasgow had become a frequent target of anti-abortion protesters in recent years.

‘Bully boy' boxer and younger brother jailed for attacks

A 'bully boy' champion boxer and his younger brother have been jailed for vicious attacks in Angus. John Docherty, 27, and 19-year-old Sean Docherty, both of Montrose, were given identical sentences after the teenager battered a man and his brother threatened him to stop him reporting it. The younger Docherty punched his victim around 20 times before his brother – a Commonwealth Games bronze medallist – terrified the man to the point he was forced to flee his home with his family. Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith said to the older brother: 'This type of offence, in my view, strikes at the very heart of the criminal justice system. 'Bully boys such as you, Mr Docherty, will not get away with it. 'People should not have fear of reprisal for reporting a serious crime in a civilised society.' Sean Docherty previously admitted that on May 12 last year, he assaulted a man on Swan Street in Brechin by repeatedly punching him on the head and body. The assault left the man severely injured, permanently impaired and permanently disfigured. John Docherty pled guilty to a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice five days later. Dundee Sheriff Court was told Sean Docherty's victim was mistakenly identified as a driver that sounded his horn at the male as he drunkenly crossed the road. After stalling the car while trying to drive off, he was punched around 20 times, which caused him a snapped tendon and bruised ribs. Days later, John Docherty followed the man, blocked his Transit van in front of him and said: 'If you put that car into gear I'll f*****g kill you.' The court heard how temporary accommodation was needed for the man and his family over fears the former professional fighter would follow up on his threats. Docherty had also admitted assaulting another man on Christmas Day on Erskine Place, Montrose, claiming he bullied a friend at school. It was revealed in sentencing the older Docherty runs a successful roofing company. His wife also gave birth within the last few weeks. In 2022, Docherty retired from professional boxing on medical grounds with a record of 12 wins – nine by knockout or stoppage – and just one defeat. John Docherty (left) boxing in 2019. Solicitor Jim Laverty, on behalf of Sean Docherty, said his client had gone 'completely off the rails' following the divorce of his parents and the disruption of a once-tight family unit. The lawyer said: 'To his credit, there's a degree of insight in relation to that and a clear nexus between his violent conduct and the alcohol problem he was engulfed by at that particular stage.' Sean Docherty, who has a previous conviction for causing severe injury, carried out the assault weeks after a community payback order expired. 'The circumstances of this assault ring alarm bells in my mind as to your propensity for violence, especially when drunk,' Sheriff Niven-Smith said. 'This was a motiveless attack on a public street during the day in the presence of members of the public who were witness to your savagery.' The brothers were each sentenced to 16 months in prison, reduced from two years. John Docherty's sentence was backdated to reflect the 10 days he previously spent on remand.

Fife councillor jailed for sexually abusing teenage girl

A disgraced Fife councillor who was found guilty of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl has been jailed for 27 months. David Graham, 43, was convicted of having sex with the teenager following a trial at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in July. The court heard how his abuse began after the pair met socially. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said Graham preyed on the youngster at various locations, including his office, house, and in his car over a six-month period in 2023. A police investigation was launched after a member of the public became concerned about his behaviour towards the girl. Graham, who was suspended from the Labour Party two years ago and has since been expelled following his conviction, continues to deny any wrongdoing. After being released on bail while awaiting sentencing, riot police were called to a mass protest outside his home. The court heard his parents' home had also been targeted. On Tuesday, Sheriff Robert More branded the offences between February and August 2023 an "escalating and brazen course of sexual behaviour" and said Graham had "undermined the trust" placed in him by the community. The court heard that a "romantic relationship" developed after the girl's 15th birthday, which became "more intimate" and involved a 25-year age gap. The sheriff said the single charge amounted to three offences, including engaging in sex activity with an older child, along with evidence of "planning" to avoid detection. Sheriff More stated: "The conduct took place at a variety of locations including the home you shared with your then partner. "You were aware of how old the girl was and had been warned by her family to stay away from her. "Laws are intended to protect children from those who would exploit their vulnerability. There is nothing to suggest she was physically harmed or evidence that she has suffered psychological harm. "In my view there is a real risk your offending will have such a psychological impact." In addition to the prison sentence, Graham was also added to the sex offenders' register for 10 years. Helen Nisbet, procurator fiscal for Tayside, Central and Fife, said: "David Graham saw an opportunity to systematically groom and sexually abuse a vulnerable young girl, who had the right to be safe in his company. "He cynically and deliberately took advantage of an unbalanced power dynamic to commit these offences over the course of several months. "Graham has now been held accountable following this prosecution, and I give thanks to the victim for giving evidence which helped secure this conviction. "I would urge anyone affected by similar offending to report it when you feel ready." Fife Council said a by-election will be held in Ward 22 (Buckhaven, Methil and Wemyss Villages) in the next few months. Councillor David Ross, the local authority's leader, said: "This case has shocked us all and I am pleased that this means David Graham will now be disqualified from serving as a councillor on Fife Council. "I want to pay tribute to the bravery of the young person involved in this case in coming forward and hope that today's sentencing goes some way towards her healing process.
