There's nothing worse than spending ages applying fake tan, only to wake up the next morning looking like a piece of tiger bread.
But luckily for you, you'll no longer have to worry about this beauty faux pas, as a young woman named Catherine has shared the purse-friendly product she can't live without for an even glow.
Posting on social media, the young beauty fan who regularly shares 'all things fake tan' as well as " frugal beauty tips ' online, took to TikTok to show off 'the best quick fix for a patchy fake tan '.
During the eight-second clip, we saw Catherine in her dressing gown, as she revealed how she uses baby oil - yes, you heard that correctly - in her fake tan routine.
After applying the Bahama Body Ultra Dark tan, the content creator wrote: 'The best quick fix for a patchy fake tan on the neck/chest/hands? Baby oil and [a] fluffy blush.'
Catherine demonstrated her beauty guidance, as she applied a few drops of baby oil onto a make-up brush and lightly ran the brush over her neck.
She confirmed that she does this before washing her fake tan off if she spots any stubborn patches, but claimed that it also works after showering off fake tan too.
The beauty buff then explained: 'I use this to smooth out any mistakes.
'If you use the right amount of oil it should just blend it - you need to use a tiny amount, about one or two drops!'
She claimed that her simple beauty tip 'works so well' and is 'the best hack', so if you're fed up with a tan that looks uneven, you'll need to give this a try.
I love being brown all year but hate fake tan - my £5 hack means I can get a glow in seconds & DON'T smell like biscuits
You'll find baby oil in a number of different high-street stores and supermarkets, as if you're on a budget, this is perfect for you.
You'll be pleased to know that this hack won't empty your wallet, as you can nab baby oil for only £1.48 from Asda, £1.49 from Superdrug and £1.50 from Sainsbury's.
Fake Tan Lovers Guide to Applying it Streak-Free
Here's Fabulous ultimate guide to a flawless, streak-free fake tan that will leave you looking like you've just stepped off the beach...
Preparation is Key
A streak-free tan starts with proper skin prep. Exfoliate your skin thoroughly 24 hours before application. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees and ankles to ensure an even canvas. Opt for an exfoliator with natural ingredients to avoid irritation.
Hydration Station
Moisturise your entire body right after exfoliating, but pay extra attention to dry patches. On the day of tanning, only apply a light, oil-free moisturiser to these areas a few hours before you plan to tan. This prevents the tan from clinging to dry spots and developing unevenly.
Formulate, Don't Hate
Selecting the right fake tan product can make all the difference. Mousse formulas are easiest to apply and blend. Tanning drops can be added to your regular face moisturiser to match your face with your body.
Application O'Clock
Using a tanning mitt is non-negotiable for an even application. Dispense a small amount of product onto the mitt and apply in long, sweeping motions. Start from your ankles and work your way up to avoid creases. Apply sparingly on joints and use a fluffy make-up brush for your hands and feet.
Post-Tan Care
Once you've applied your tan, allow it to dry completely before dressing. Loose, dark clothing is best to avoid transferring colour. Avoid water and sweat for at least six to eight hours while the tan develops. After your first rinse, pat your skin dry gently and moisturise daily to prolong your tan.
Beauty fans beam
The clip, which was posted under the username @ catherinnnneeeeee, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 1.4 million views.
Not only this, but it's also amassed 100,100 likes, 338 comments and 22,400 saves.
Fake tan fans were impressed with Catherine's 'life changing' hack and many quickly flocked to the comments to express this.
One person said: 'Omg I need to try.'
Another added: 'Ohhh good to know.'
A third commented: 'Omg lifesaver.'
Whilst another beauty enthusiast chimed in and simply beamed: 'Game changer.'
Meanwhile, someone else questioned: 'Does it work on eczema?!?!'
To this, Catherine replied and wrote: 'I've never had eczema so I'm not too sure - but it works on dry areas for me.'

Pop duo cancel shows after scary moment sees member collapse on stage
Australian pop duo Royel Otis have been forced to take action after one member collapsed mid-performance this week. Comprising Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic, the indie musicians from Sydney were playing at the MS Dockville festival in Hamburg, Germany, when things took a worrying turn. Footage captured by fans and shared on TikTok showed Royel playing his guitar before falling to the ground with a thud. Other members of the live band rushed over to help as concerned gasps could be heard among the crowd. It was initially unknown what caused Royel to collapse, but reports claimed it happened just 15 minutes into the set. Now, issuing an update to their thousands of followers, the duo have confirmed they need to axe their next performance while he recovers from an illness. A statement shared on Instagram read: 'We are really sorry to say that we need to cancel our set at Lowlands + Pukkelpop festival as Roy has been unwell with a virus since last night's show in Hamburg.' The stars added: 'We were really looking forward to playing for you and hope we can see you at one of our other shows soon. 'Thank you for all your support always [pink heart emoji] Roy + Otis'. As news of the gig's cancellation spread, fans expressed their sadness on social media but wished the performer well. Guitar-pop duo Royel Otis have been making music together since 2019, releasing their debut EP, Campus, in 2021. Their commercial breakthrough, however, came last January, when the Grammys named Royel Otis as one of '25 Artists to Watch' that year, leading to the release of their first album, Pratts & Pain, the following month. It debuted at number one on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart. Royel Otis proceeded to gain a huge online following thanks to their viral covers, the first being of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor, which also charted Down Under. Then, last April, the pair covered Linger by The Cranberries, which also became a global hit thanks to social media, even reaching the Billboard Hot 100 in August. Since then, their career has only continued to thrive, as they made their US TV debut performing their tune Sofa King on Jimmy Kimmel Live last October, going on to sell over 100,000 tickets across Australia, Europe, and the US. Their success has not been without a smidge of controversy, though. In May this year, they had to issue an apology after being slammed by listeners for 'misogynistic' lyrics. Moody, released earlier that month, sparked backlash for its use of the word 'b***h'. Co-written by award-winning Amy Allen, one line reads: 'She's always givin' it to me. Late nights, she always accusin'. Last time, she said she would kill me. My girl's a b***h when she's moody'. After being blasted by their supporters for the 'cheap' dig, entertainment lawyers on behalf of Royel Otis said they were sorry for any upset caused. 'Moody has been Royel Otis' highest-performing release in the first two weeks globally, both digitally and on radio,' they said. 'This song is written from a specific perspective; it is not intended to convey a broader view or standpoint about women in general. 'We apologise if anyone understood those lyrics otherwise.' Despite the criticism, Moody became Royel Otis's first Billboard number one single. More Trending Fans might also know of member Otis because of his famous mother, multi-millionaire beauty mogul Carla Oates. He famously used to cover his face in public, having only recently started to share snaps of his face online, much to the delight of fans. On his decision to cover up, he previously told the Daily Telegraph: 'It makes it easier to pick pictures; I always look OK because you don't see this f*****g crooked nose and fat a*s head.' Royel Otis are set to release their sophomore album, Hickey, on August 22. Got a story? The 100 best British TV shows of the 21st century
W hat is the best British television show of the century so far? That's the question the Times and Sunday Times TV team has set out to answer. With the help of some of the nation's top writers, actors and actresses, from Stephen Merchant and Michael Sheen to Joanne Froggatt and Lucy Prebble, our team of television critics has assembled a list of 100 that includes the best drama, comedy, documentaries and entertainment formats of the past 25 years. Almost all are available to watch now thanks to the streaming revolution that has transformed TV. The rules are simple. The programmes must be British, so classic American dramas such as The Sopranos and Game of Thrones aren't allowed, and the shows must have been first broadcast after January 1, 2000. That means reboots of shows that were first broadcast in the 20th century are ineligible. It's why you won't see Doctor Who, which began in 1963, but returned in 2005 after a 13-year hiatus, on our list.
