Evans wins Safari Rally Kenya to extend WRC lead
Elfyn Evans won Safari Rally Kenya to extend his lead after three rounds of the World Rally Championship (WRC) to 36 points.
The 36-year-old Welshman recorded back-to-back victories for the first time, finishing more than a minute ahead of Estonian Ott Tanak.
Hyundai driver Tanak had led the race before breaking a driveshaft on Friday, while Evans' Toyota team-mate Kalle Rovenpera was forced to retire after a string of problems.
"A huge well done to the team, they did a great job and I'm proud to be a very small part of Toyota's history at this special rally," said Evans.
"I want to say thank you to everyone in Kenya for a very warm welcome and an amazing rally."

Evans welcomes points revamp for 2025 WRC
Having won Thursday's opening stage and two on Saturday, Evans and co-driver Scott Martin took a lead of just under two minutes into Sunday.
However, given the attritional nature of the rally, the Gazoo Racing duo opted for a safety first approach to the final five stages.
They ceded 47 seconds on the final day but still finished one minute 9.9 seconds ahead of Tanak, with Thierry Neuville a further two minutes 22 seconds adrift.
It meant the Welshman collected only two Sunday points but with 25 for the rally victory it took his total to 88 points, following victory in Sweden last month and runners-up spot in January's season-opening Rallye Monte Carlo.
Last year's championship winner Neuville has moved up from fourth place to second on 52 points, with Tanak up to third with 49.
Northern Ireland's Josh McErlean enjoyed mixed fortunes in the third race of his first WRC season. He lost 29 minutes on Saturday's opening run after breaking a steering arm on his Ford M-Sport Puma.
However, McErlean and co-driver Eoin Treacy went on the deliver their best performance in a Rally1 car with the second-best time on stage 15.
They placed 11th in Kenya, picking up one Super Sunday point to also remain in 11th spot overall.
Round four of the 14 race calendar is the Rally Islas Canarias from 24-27 April.

Michigan's Fortune 500 companies
Michigan was home to 15 of the country's top-grossing companies last year — many of them tied to the auto industry — according to the 2025 Fortune 500 list released this month. Why it matters: Fortune 500 companies boost the state's economy, influence policy priorities and power job growth. Michigan's top-ranked companies, by fiscal year 2024 revenue, are: 18. General Motors (Detroit): $187.4 billion — up 1 spot from last year. 19. Ford (Dearborn): $185 billion — down 2 spots. 103. Dow (Midland): $43 billion — down 4. 141. Penske Automotive Group (Bloomfield Hills): $30.5 billion — up 5. 189. Lear (Southfield): $23.3 billion — down 15. Zoom in: Other top-500 companies in Metro Detroit include Ally Financial (255), BorgWarner (307), DTE Energy (337) and Autoliv (407). The intrigue: Dan Gilbert's Rocket Companies jumped 127 spots but remains outside the Fortune 500 at number 619, with $5.4 billion in revenue. The big picture: Walmart topped the magazine's annual list for the 13th straight year. Amazon, UnitedHealth Group, Apple and CVS Health round out the top five.

South Korea imported vehicle sales rise 16% in May
Sales of imported light passenger vehicles in South Korea rose by over 16% to 28,189 units in May 2025 compared with 24,209 units a year earlier, according to registration data released by the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (Kaida). The association attributed last month's strong market performance to improved inventory of new models, following shortages in previous months. Hybrid vehicles accounted for over 53% of total import sales last month, followed by battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with 34% and internal combustion engine (ICE) models with just under 13%. Import sales in the first five months of the year increased by 10% to 110,341 units from 100,352 units a year earlier. Overall demand for new vehicles in South Korea remains sluggish, amid weak domestic economic growth and high consumer debt. Domestic sales of vehicles produced by the five main local manufacturers rose by just over 2% to 569,885 units in the same period, underpinned mainly by new models from Hyundai and Kia. German-owned brands accounted for almost 65% of total import sales year-to-date, with some 71,800 units combined, led by BMW with a 10% rise to 31,727 units, while its Mini subsidiary saw its sales plunge by 27% to 2,643 units. Together, the two brands accounted for 31% of total import sales. Mercedes-Benz saw its sales rebound by 14% to 26,538 units in this period, while Volkswagen Group reported a 24% jump to 10,791 units, thanks mainly to strong rebounds by Porsche and Audi. US EV maker Tesla saw its sales rose by 6% to 12,835 units year-to-date, while Volvo's sales fell slightly to 5,700 units. Toyota's sales fell by 5% to 3,691 units, while its Lexus division enjoyed an 18% rise to 6,364 units. Chinese automaker BYD, which officially entered the market earlier this year, has delivered 1,066 vehicles so far. The company said it aims to have 30 sales outlets in place by the end of the year. Recapping offers, happenings at Notre Dame's Irish Invasion camp
It was a big day for Notre Dame football, as they welcomed in multiple top-end prospects for its Irish Invasion camp. Earlier in the day, it was Texas running back Wayne Shanks Jr. earning an offer, but that wasn't the only one send out following the event. Multiple more players were given scholarships by Notre Dame, and a good part of that was due to the boss, head coach Marcus Freeman being there. Advertisement That's what separates this era of Irish football from others, the fact that this coaching staff is all-in on the program, and it has shown on the recruiting trail. It wasn't just them either, star running back Jeremiyah Love made an appearance as well. Find out below all the other prospects to earn an offer from Notre Dame during Irish Invasion. (Note: All recruits rankings are from the 247Sports Composite.) 2028 Linebacker Tahj Gray The 6-foot, 2-inch and 200-pound New Jersey native must have shown out during the camp, as the Irish are one of the first major schools to send out an offer after Ohio State and Penn State to the currently unranked prospect. Gray has the perfect size for a middle linebacker, and would look great in the Blue and Gold. 2028 Edge Jackson Vaughn Bergen Catholic has been good to Notre Dame, even though one of its former stars in Steve Angeli is no longer with the program. That didn't matter with the offer out to Vaughn, a 6-foot, 3-inch and 220-pound pass rusher. While he's not ranked at the moment, he has over 30-offers as he heads into his sophomore year. 2028 Cornerback Phoenix Evans Another New Jersey prospect getting an Irish offer, Evans is a bit on the smaller side at 5-foot, 9-inches and 160-pounds. That didn't seem to matter after his performance on Friday, showing that his size isn't going to stop him from being a high-level player. Evans also is unranked, but has over 25-offers, and should be soon. 2028 Defensive end Asher Ghioto Notre Dame has put extra focus on Florida prospects, and Ghioto is the latest from the state to earn an offer. At 6-foot, 5-inches and 240-pounds, he's got a very projectable body that could fill out even more by the time he arrives at a college campus. It's going to be tough to get him to leave his home state, but the Irish have shown that isn't an issue for them. 2027 Edge Chaz Gray It was a big day for New Jersey prospects, as Gray was added to the list that Notre Dame offered. At 6-foot, 4-inches and 225-pounds, he's the long, athletic and fast prospect that the Irish look for in an edge rusher. Gray is ranked as the No. 401 overall player in his class. 2028 Linebacker Allen Kennett Unranked at the moment, the 6-foot, 1-inch and 215-pound Californian did what he needed to earn a Notre Dame offer. He's a bit of unknown at the moment, but don't let that fool you. If Kennett is good enough to earn a scholarship, then he can play at this level.
